  1. Tron, Master and Commander and How to Train Your Dragon. My LFE's and subs go crazy during those three movies.
  2. I can't imagine getting rid of that setup. I can't even talk myself out of my RF-3 and RC-3 combination and I change out the rest of he system on a regular basis. You would be VERY hard pressed to find another home theater system that would best the RF-7, RC-7 and RS-7 combo. I wish I could hear those bad boys in person.
  3. Sell the Klipsch 308 and get into a HSU VTF-3 MK4 (on sale for$650). I have never been a Klipsch sub fan except for the older reference 12 and 15 and even those don't compare with modern SVS, HSU or other direct Internet companies. The 308 is only good down to 26hz, ditch it.
  4. Those look like those garbage " white van" speakers..... I would stat the hell away from them at all costs....
  5. RF-83's and RC-64 = PERFECTION in my book. Congratulations on making a wise decision.
  6. Do it. No money out of pocket and much better performance is a win win. This coming from a proud RF-3 and RC-3 owner, you won't be sorry.
  7. Yeah, I am just running a single male into double female Y splitter into the LFE inputs on both subs. It works great.
  8. I used to own the 1020. I hate to be the Bearer of bad news but your new receiver scored very poorly on bench tests(20-30 watts). I know Klipsch speakers don't require that much power to function properly but I still think you need more power. Like stated above, try powering you front mains without bi amping them. -12 on the AVR doesn't sound right though, even with he low wattage rating..... Good lick, let us know how it works out.
  9. I agree with youthman, I love my Harmony 1100. One of my favorite AV components.
  10. I regret getting bitten by the HT bug. Why can't I just be "normal" like everyone else I know and be perfectly happy with a $500 HTIB
  11. Great deal. I am just wondering what kind of person would sell brand new speakers for half of what they were asking? They either needed money in a bad way, the speakers are stolen or they are just terrible at negotiating. There are deals on craigslist.

    Furman Elite

I love my Furman Elite. I have it hooked up to my main system and I am running tons of power through it. My bedroom system isn't so lucky, I have a 50" plasma and sound system hooked up to a $40 monster surge protector. I would say that you should come up with a formula where you take into consideration the cost of the system in question vs the price of the Furman. My bedroom system was only around $1,500, there was no way I could justify a $500+ surge protector. With that said, the $40 monster got fried during a storm and my components survived, I bought another one right away.
  13. Are you just looking for a two channel amp? You could pick up an Emotiva XPA-2, it's on sale for $699 right now and is 300 watts @ 8 ohm x2. It would really make your RF7's sing, unless there is something wrong with your speakers......
  14. That part is actually my favorite part of the movie, no I am not kidding, haha.
  15. I have heard that that Outlaw is a VERY good sub for the money. I am always reading how good it is over on the AVS forum. Let us know how you like it when you get it hooked up.....
  16. I totally screwed that up. I got the models screwed up. Sorry OP.......
  17. ED makes some savage subs but I hope they have the plate amps in stock, the last I had heard they were out....
  18. I would try to sell the RSW-10D an pick up another RSW-12D( they were just on sale for $300). Running two different subs is very difficult to get adjusted and the two 12's will give you more output and low end extension. My 2 cents...
  19. It's good to see you are still at it. I also bought the SC-35 since your first post, it is a BEAST! Did you ever end up getting the Harmony 1100?
  20. That seems like a fairly reasonable price but I would try to offer $700. The sub new was over 2k but 15 years is a long time in the electronic community. Does he have it hooked up so you can demo it? Like I said, if you purchase it take it right to a service center and have it checked, you don't want to load and unload that beast more times than you have to.
  21. As long as the velodyne's amplifier is working properly, it would absolutely destroy the two klipsch subs. Even though the Velodyne is roughly 15 years old it is still highly regarded in th AV community. It has useable output down to 16 hz! I would buy the Velodyne's (what price are they asking?) and take it to a qualified service center and have them refoam th driver and check the amplifier. The FSR-18 is a HT monster and the kilpsch RW-12 is known as being a average subwoofer at best( very good at $300 but still average) fo HT.
  22. Pick up a clearance Pioneer SC-35. I have a biased opinion but I have owned allot of different receivers over the last 5 years from all the major companies. The SC-35 will stay with me for a while..... You could spend $800 on the Pioneer and pick up another matching sub and still have tons of money left over. That Marantz only weighs 30 lbs and that is the shipping weight, seems very light to me.

    Plasma or LED?

I would stack the pioneer Plasmas and the Panasonic Viera Plasmas up against any LED TV. I have gone from plasma, to led, to DLP to plasma, to DLP to plasma. My next TV will be. DLP. I think now days, as long as you buy one of the top rated sets, you will end up with a killer picture.
  24. ^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^ Give us a model # of the Panasonic receiver.
