  1. The Klipsch K69 is the same driver as the P.Audio BMD750. Currently, the P.Audio price is up over $200 a pop (for one) Bruce
  2. PT,They are 12 inchers and not 10. I'm going to measure these woofs in the cabs to see how they will work. JC had thought of using them on some MWMs with the JBL on top. I'm looking at the K69/P.Audio driver to go on the JBL. I just noticed the P.Audio just went up in price... Hmmmm, may have to keep looking. I am not at all against building some other acbs for the EVs, that would work better. I only need them to cover maybe 2 1/2 octaves. Bruce
  3. Always made me wonder when reading the Old and New Testaments, why the Jews would raise swine, unless it was just a business to sell to the gentiles.Bruce
  4. Maybe that is my problem, too. At what resolution did you shoot those?
  5. That's a real knee slapper, there.I don't dare demo them on my LS. But I will try those big JBL horns and 12 inch mid bass units at some time... They are mostly in storage right now. Isn't it funny... from JC's storage to mine. Bruce
  6. Rudy,You would have to use an adapter to go from the 1 inch k55 to the 2 inch BMS. I'm not sure how happy you would be with that, as the driver is probably making more of a quality difference jump in performance than the horn. And that is not meaning anything negative about the V-Trac horns. Bruce
  7. Welborne Labs used to import the Oris hons. The have one pair in their closeout bin (at a GREAT price!).http://www.welbornelabs.com/stuff.htm Or you can check out Bert Doppenberg' ssite. Bert designed the Oris and had them made. I don't know if you can get them over here very easily. He does have one of the horns that he mates with the BMS 4592ND 2 inch throat drive. I imagine it is sweet. http://www.bd-design.nl/index1.html He has evolved away a little from DIY to complete systems. Expect to spend money no matter which way you go. Bruce
  8. Moving a WIndows C: drive to a different MB is a bit tricky. This is due to Windows creating a Hardware Abstraction Layer when it is installed. All kinds of things are set during an initial Windows install, so moving the drive to another motherboard causes all kinds of issues. As it boots up, Windows will find all the differences between the install and what it is discovering on boot up. About the only way around that, if you really want to move the drive and the boot partition is to connect the drive and boot to a Windows install CD. Do a repair on the drive... you will think you are starting from scratch, but you aren't really. It will go though and create a new HAL. Some drivers or motherboard specific files may need to be reinstalled. Bruce
  9. Mine arrived today. I've yet to play it... just too much to do, but it IS the weekend and time to play. Bruce
  10. Someone in the U.S. needs to be making an Oris type horn. They have to be able to be made and sold for less than manufacturing and shipping from the Netherlands. I would love to hear a pair made for a 2 inch compression driver. Bruce
  11. Dean, I worked on 3 phase motor controllers that came in for repair looking like that. I had to cut out the burned places completely, to get rid of the carbon, otherwise they would arc when put back into service. I filled the holes with epoxy, too. Seemed to work pretty well. Bruce
  12. Careful! It's almost as bad as kudzu...
  13. The add on is IE Tab. You tell it which sites you wish to have appear as IE would render them. I have even done Windows updates while running Firefox. It is too cool. It lets FF use the IE render engine. I use it when I connect to my MS Exchange server thru the web, and when running the Oracle front end to our schools system. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419 I'm sure if you install this, you will find it works really well. Bruce
  14. I agree, but I am rather partial to the one with my gf. []I am also going to assume that these won't sound squawky at the levels at which I listen. All the parts are coming together, but it will be awhile yet. Michael, I will certainly be interested in hearing your take on the 2365s. I'm also pretty sure you will have them cranked a bit more than what I use. Bruce
  15. That would be really nice, but my budget won't allow it. I have come to appreciate the fact that Bud's American Ale is actually pretty decent. The PRICE is hard to beat, so I am enjoying... Too bloody right, Bruce. Hard to believe that a giant can make a trully craft brew like that. OTOH, the price isn't all THAT appealing. Dave I guess I have to ask how expensive the American Ale is in your location. It's $5.49 here, while the Smithwicks is over $8. I would like to say that the $8 isn't a problem, but it's enough of a difference for me. Bruce
  16. i dont care what people think about JSB - but i think this place would not be the same without his fantastic words of wisdom. I love his posts. always puts a smile to my face. ok since we are on this subject someone once told me in general discussion never talk about 3 things, religion, politics and money.. so i wont... That post of JB's really cracks me up! []
  17. They do use Celestions on some of their amps. It's all good... just different flavors.
  18. That would be really nice, but my budget won't allow it. I have come to appreciate the fact that Bud's American Ale is actually pretty decent. The PRICE is hard to beat, so I am enjoying...
  19. Very nice! The stuff is incredibly strong.
  20. Maybe you could go into the bamboo furniture business if the markets go further south... Just kidding, of course. While in Manila and Macau, I saw scaffolding made from bamboo. All lashed together and higher up than I would want to be on it, too. Bruce
  21. That almost seems like eating your seed corn.... Beautiful turntable!
  22. I had not seen this before, but a retired US Navy pilot friend of mine forwarded it to me. It's a very powerful video. I got chills in viewing this. ----------------------------------------- The Marines of Makin Island In the early days of WW II the Marine raiders attacked Makin Island and left behind 19 dead Marines after asking the islanders to make sure that they received a proper burial. In 1999 the remains were discovered. This is a touching tribute. Semper Fidelis.
  23. whooooohooooo! Got email that mine has shipped. I can hardly wait. Bruce
  24. Richard, On a serious note, I have had lot's of friends go through what you have gone through. I was on a canoe trip in Canada while still in high school. A good friend, who was on the trip with me, got stung by a small bee, and went into mild shock. He was ok, but we were 20 miles over the border with no radios or other form of communication. I've had more yellow jacket stings than I care to remember (one is enough), and one of them made my arm swell up and go numb. Back to the topic... Macintosh Audio has some differerent dbx products for sale in their flooby dust section. That would be really close to you. Bruce
