  1. The 64-bit OS only runs on a 64-bit CPU according to MS. This makes sense. What processor is in the laptop?Bruce
  2. You related to Craig, by any chance? Hey now I'm watchin you Somebody needs to be! [] Happy New Year, Craig
  3. Happy New Year! Two new grandsons... a beautiful GF... things are great.
  4. You related to Craig, by any chance?
  5. If they are mostly algebraic, a cropped screen capture might be the easiest. Have you used Mathcad? I would like to get this into Mathcad, so I can see the curves on screen and print out cutting templates. Bruce
  6. Erik Forker has this in his calculations and listed as 'stretch' numbers for the side wall in his spreadsheet. As an example, one of the speakers I was working with had a distance from throat measurement is 217mm, but the side wall, being longer because of the curve, came out to 238.4mm. My email to him is why not put calcs in for the top/bottom (a 1.4inch stretch in Gil's case)? I think he already does it, since he actually generates script files for Autocad that plots the curves...My two cents... and I think you are all pretty much saying the same thing, but the more you try to explain the more confused everyone gets. [] Bruce
  7. Edgar, Nice! This will help explain the situation to a lot of people.
  8. Greg, You are certainly correct. I've emailed Erik Forker to ask about his srpeadsheet tractrix calculator, One of the colums of data (for the sides) is marked as stretched. This is because the actaul length of the sides is longer than the top/bottom pieces. I would think the formulae forcalculating the top/bottom could be changed to reflect whatever the actual length of those pieces will be (easy for me to say, since I'm not doing it). Then the plots would be correct to cut flat, and be 'right' once elevated. Hopefully I will hear back from him soon. Bruce
  9. Hmmm... there is one owner on here who uses a set for his club. I would think those are authorized, even if made with marine grade plywood. I think quite a few pair were purchased through the commercial sound suppliers. Just who are the bad boys? Are you taking Amy's statements out of context, per chance? I'm sure Klipsch just hates it when they sell another pair of $7000 speakers. I've heard a lot of people on here say they heard different Heritage models, the Khorn Jubilee, ReferenceSeries, etc., and said they couldn't afford them, so they bought others in the lineup that still gave them great sound for the money. They all help sell the product. I work with two different people who have bought Klipsch products for their homes after hearing my LaScalas. One of them then ordered Klipsch ceiling speakers for use in some of our classrooms. It works better than an ad campaign...
  10. Yes you do... been there and seen it happen. Never enough said, it just depends on how it's said. It's usually like a family here, nd criticising a speaker is like beating up on one of your kids...The basic incarnation of the Jube ended up being a cinema speaker, even though PWK wanted it to be THE upgrade for the KHorn. THE new heritage. Roy has been working hard to get it into people homes, so much so that they allow and will ship with a veneered from panel. Doesn't change the way it sounds. He has also been tweaking the crossovers since this started, but those who don't have a pair don't hear about it. It IS evolving... Maron just isn't in the loop, so to speak, so he doesn't know the improvements that are made, even weekly. Bruce
  11. Ha! I really intend to keep them. I've had them since I bought them new in '72. Rest assured, there will be no shortage of speakers in the house. What he will need more of is good music, and he will get that from his parents, no problem.
  12. [Y] Just read an article about the studio for Pink Floyd... They use crystals and cable supports and all sorts of crap for their studio. I always knew there was a reason I didn't like them.Bruce
  13. WhateEVER! His dad works...that is a good start. [] Plus, they don't have room for more where they are... It will be a few years, anyway. ALthough I do have some JBLs just taking up space...
  14. And your sister seemed so well behaved. [] Well, I want to replace those with some ring radiators anyway...
  15. I like this pic, too. I wish I had taken it, but his father took it. I'll see if I can get the larger image from him.
  16. A great way to spend Christmas day... sleeping...
  17. Invidiosulus and his wife had their first baby on Tuesday. This is my second grandson for the year, as my daughter and her husband had their first in August. Born at home, Josh, Heather and Ambrose are all doing well. Bruce ps. His name is Ambrose, after St. Ambrose, Bishop of Milan, one of the Doctors of the Church.
  18. Mine was pretty cheap, but the front panel comes off and you can pull the card out. Each card has four 1/4 inch phone jacks. Depending on which way you have the card changes your config. Pretty slick. Since a bunch of the gear in my audio rack has 1/4 inch jacks, it make it easy to hook up. It sure beats looking in the back of a cabinet with a flashlight to change something. I only have to keep track of the drawing I made that tells me what jack is what...
  19. Dave, I've been looking for an article on patchbays in a back issue of Tape Op magazine. Really might help you out. It has all the stuff about normalled, half normalled, how to route stuff. Geared for studio use, but the idea is the same. I think I have mine backwards, but you have everything playing back on the top, etc. and inputs on the bottom. It all works out once you see it. Does the TEAC have cards that you can turn over for different setups? I have a Neutrik one I picked up a long time ago, and it helps a lot. Bruce
  20. The guitar isn't upside down, it's just a lefty with it strung backwards. Hmmm...
  21. That gets a seven thumbs up out of five!!! [Y][Y][Y][Y][Y][Y][Y] Thanks for the link...
  22. Greg, Sometimes it is just magic. My LaScalas, and you are really familiar with La Scalas, sound just right with the Moondogs, my SET 2A3 amps. When the planets sem to be aligned, something is just right. There is no explaining it, the way it sounds. And it seems, at that moment in time, that all is right in the world. There's no real explaining it. Amen
  23. Happy Birthday, Christy! May God shower you with blessings on this special day. Bruce
  24. Merry Christmas to all! If you get a chance, have a look at this video from Brad Paisley and Andy Griffith. For those who are married, it better make you cry. It's really touching. Bruce http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvKgnkIN8C8
