  1. He has been a favorite of mine for years. As well as Band music, Jim Weider (thanks to Duke), and... the list could go on and on. Bruce
  2. While not impossible, Khorns are a very difficult build. Fifty+ pieces (per cabinet), many with compound angles. Not for the faint of heart. Bruce
  3. Inductance and resistance would be the key. Run a 1000 ft. and both will change the loading on your amp. Most people don't get near that. Bruce
  4. Not sure about the LE20. The L100 had an LE-5 for the midrange (breaks up easily) and a 2214H fro the woofer. Which version of the L100 are you talkin' about? Bruce
  5. As I posted earlier, I have been to Steve's house. Delivered a set of Chorus IIs that I tried to get him to sell to me. I would have even let him make a profit. It isn't what you might think. The car collection is real enough, and most he has had since they were new if I remember correctly. He has an incredible collection of Klipsch, most of it parked next to the cars and not set up yet. Lots of K55 drivers (someone wanted some - perhaps he will sell) I know he just bides his time and ends up with incredible deals. All the same, I wouldn't personally want to do business with him... he drives a hard bargain. His speakers probably aren't as well cared for as Michael's vast collection. Just my take... Bruce
  6. Gosh Erik, I thought those were my doggies in the picture. How do you like them? I have been more than pleased with my pair. I haven't done a thing to them but turn them on and listen. Bruce
  7. I did listen to Trey and other Klipsch staff talking about how it doesn't really matter (within reason) what wire you use. That many would be shocked to know what they used in all the test setups, etc. People can buy what they want. I use 18 gauge zip cord. Mine hasn't turned green. That is my only specification. You would think they would put the backs on all the KHorns, or provide directions for those who would be interested. I thought they sounded rather fabulous, but it is the first pair I have ever heard. Bruce
  8. I delivered a pair of Chorus IIs to Steve, and spent a couple of hours talking with him and trying to get back on the road. He is quite the character. It was an interesting time to say the least. He had a boatload of K55 drivers and stuff stacked almost to the ceiling. Bruce
  9. I always liked the clear caps, so you could see what was inside them before you swallowed.
  10. Bill, I've sent you an email. Bruce
  11. They should be from the '60s, and contain D-130 woofers (15 in) and 077 slot tweeters. If you don;'t buy them you are crazy. Bruce edit: I have been looking them up, and also finding them with the 075 tweeter.
  12. Someone has to have a picture of him. I hardly took any pics, and my son grabbed a few. I didn't talk to nearly as many folks as I wanted to. The pic is of me and dtel, in the background are Roy and Dean. On the far right is skonopa (I think). Bruce
  13. Steve P. said that the eq was messed up in that room. after the session with Larry, we had some other music there, and the whole presentation changed. At first I was not impressed with the Cornies at all, but they were better after some adjustments. I loved the Carmina Burana, and the Bach always does me in. I also have a different recording of the Rodrigo, but am anxious to hear the recording Larry mentioned. What a great time. Bruce
  14. I guess we CAN talk about the CS-700 wireless system since it was introduced at CES in Jan. and there is a writeup on the website. I hadn't heard of this before, but I think it is really a neat product. Bruce
  15. fini, We only heard the Jubs in the large room at the Holiday Inn. Not ideal at all. All I could think of was P.A. Would have loved to have heard them in a properly set up romm the way we heard the 60th Anniv. KHorns. Nice! The reference inwall speakers were pretty incredible too. My pics are still in my camera... so someday. Bruce
  16. The DBBs sound GREAT! I got a chance to hear them when I picked up the BBX a few weeks ago. I didn't have time for a proper listen, but someone could be VERY happy if they owned those. Bruce
  17. Mike, You could say that about a lot of things, I suppose. Still can't decide if I want to wrap up the tubes and stick everything in the car, just for the curiosity of a couple of folks. Bruce
  18. I'm here, but put in a lot of extra hours this week, so I could take Friday of to go to Indy. I'm up toward Chattanooga, so a bit farther from you other guys. My house has LS and Heresy II models. (Also a couple flavors of JBLs but I have to be quiet about those) Bruce
  19. Trey, or anyone else- I am willing to bring the Moondogs (SET 2A3) if anyone seriously wants to hear them. I will not bring a preamp, but will say they work great with a Merlin (guess I could bring that as well) and will assume there will be enough cables to use. Bruce
  20. Uh, Mark, it was the previous owner, not the current one.
  21. It didn't matter what level I used, the ALs in mine sounded awful. I built a set of DHA2s, and am very pleased. Perhaps just recapping them would have been fine, but I had decided to to build the DHA2s, which are a first order constant impedance crossover. I do listen at lower levels, and teamed with my 2A3 amps, the sound is great. Bruce
  22. Dang nab it! I totally have been out of it. My fortieth as well. I was an acoustic guitar player, and really not into R&R too much. So I was always listening to the Kingston Trio, PP&M, the Limelighters, Chad Mitchell Trio. I later would come to love Sgt. Peppers, Satanic Majesties Request. And REO too, as Gary Richrath was at my house often, practicing with a local band. And I was soon to be around folks like Dan Fogelberg and my longtime friend Chuck Perrin. Boy, does this bring back memories. I can't thank you enough.
  23. I have my LS aimed just a tad wider than right at the center listening position. This has given me a slightly wider sweet spot, good for having company over. Love my LS.
  24. Some say I'm a might touched in the head...[:^)] Harry, those are nice amps. Wish I had found them for that price. I would love some 6L6 amps. Bruce
