  1. I haven't smoked many or often, but I do enjoy them. My favorite that I've ever tried is a Rocky Patel Decade. I think they are about $15 each. Very smooth and tastes great. Could smoke them all night and not be able to tell the next day.
  2. I know, I'm not looking for someone to sell me one for cheaper necessarily. But if someone had a reputable high quality cable laying around that they wanted to get rid of maybe we could make a deal.
  3. Yea I go black. Taste best and is the healthiest way to drink it.
  4. As the title states. I'm moving my sub and have to make a long run up one wall, through the attic, and down another wall. I can get one from Monoprice for approximately $19 shipped to my door. But thought I'd check here to see if anyone had one laying around before I pull the trigger, thanks.
  5. I'm not a coffee expert by any means but I do enjoy a good cup of Joe. I generally have a 16oz mug every morning, 8oz. on the way to the gym at 6am, and the other 8oz. when I hit my desk around 8am. I probably drink more most weekend mornings. I buy from my local home grown grocery called Bloomingfoods. Most of their coffees come from 3-4 local coffee bean makers and run $8.99-14.99 pound. My favorite right now is called Organic Love Buzz which is $10.99lb. I also buy whole beans and grind them right before I brew in the mornings. I recommend this if you are wanting to step your game up. To me grinding my own beans has been the single greatest increase in my coffee drinking experience I've ever experienced. I owned a Keurig for awhile, but it didn't brew as strong as I liked, although I admit I still enjoy the different flavors now and then when I visit my parents. All in all, I'll drink a gas station Maxwell House if that's all there is, and be completely content.
  6. I've now split these up and have sold the center channel

  8. Hmm I'm a little surprised by your thinking. Not all of it but some of it. I agree that DIY pays off more from a price/performance standpoint as you increase the size of the driver. However I would think that DIY 12" is going to rival subs that are well above the cost you put into it. The Epik Legend was a solid performer for a $600 sub. However it was still only a 300 watt amplifier, and it used what seemed in my opinion to be modest to cheap drivers. But was able to perform well due to the fact the it employed 2 of those drivers. And I would think that without a doubt that this Ultimax build would surpass the XW500d. Same wattage, 500, w/ a 12" driver and larger cabinet as opposed to a 10" driver and smaller cabinet. Both sealed of course. That being said it's hard for me to make a direct comparison to the Legend due to the fact I've owned them both in different listening environments, and my impressions of the Legend are based solely on recollection at this point. The Legend was extremely clean and blended nicely with both my Reference line and Gallery line. However my listening environment was only a 12' x 16' room and never felt as if I could really feel the bass. I will say I was thoroughly impressed with this Ultimax when I plugged it in last night. My listening environment now is a similar size room 13' x 18', however it only has 3 walls and opens up into my dining room and kitchen. Still yet, I could feel the bass and not just hear it. I did not push the sub hard and didn't spend much time truly dialing it in. Just ran auto eQ on my Harman and ran with it. I'm looking forward to spending some more time with it and moving it around a bit in the room. I will be putting it through it's paces with some Blu-ray demo material over the next few weeks and can give a more detailed impression at that point. For the complete build I spent $468.23.
  9. I completed this Saturday night. I haven't had time to hook it up and play yet, but will share some pictures and test results tonight or in the morning. I'm pleased with the aesthetic results of the unit, I shot pretty high for my first build and my desire to emulate the design of the XW-500d below to match my Icon X line. I think for the materials and finishes I chose to work with and my budget that the results were pretty good. Good news is that I can upgrade the materials and finishes as time goes on if my heart desires. Looking forward to listening to this beast. I've never owned a powerful sub, the best performer I've owned is the Epik Legend. I'm hoping to eclipse that unit, especially considering I spent about the same amount of money to build this unit. What kind of results do you guys think that I can expect from this unit? Comparisons to a well known brand and model? Thanks.
  10. I've gotten several deals off of Craigs, but probably the best deal and the fact that they are Klipsch, was a pair of KG4s for $20. The cabinets weren't great, but was an easy refurb project and the drivers were all in fine shape. This was the first Klipsch speaker I owned from an older/heritage like line and was very pleased with what I heard! However they are for sale, look below for my link.
  11. Well I got the box all glued up. Dayton has really outdone themselves. With the kit only paying an additional $55 for the box, this is a no brainer. Everything fits together perfectly snug with no mismatching. I have CNC equipment to cut my own MDF but I couldn't have done this well on my first build. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is the dimensions. I'm a short and stocky guy and this is kind of a tall and slender looking piece. However I turned it on it's side and now have a bit of a dilemma trying to decide which direction to go with it. Let me know what you guys think... Also...I intend to caulk all of the seams on the inside
  12. Awesome, congrats again! I wouldn't be able to go to sleep if I just got those puppies home. Anxious to hear your thoughts on their performance
  13. I'm not sure what model Marantz to guide you toward for these. However this site has some good deals on refurbished Marantz receivers right now. I'm eyeing one for myself in fact. http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/AVReceiver/Home-Audio/Home-Theater-Receivers/1.html?brand=Marantz
  14. If it were me I would keep the KSF's your using as fronts right now considering you're going to pick up a KSF-C5 to match them. I don't believe you stand to gain anything from the F-2s from a performance perspective. I always put an emphasis on having speakers from the same line, for performance and cosmetic purposes. But that's just my opinion and I'm sure others would disagree.
  15. That's me once I start it I won't stop until it's done. Therefore I'm doing my best not to start tonight and just get everything laid out.
  16. I have been wanting to do this build every since I first saw the release of the Dayton Ultimax line. I was intrigued by the price/performance ratio and also the aesthetics of the driver. Not only does it look great, but it matches my Icon X's drivers perfectly as well. I finally pulled the trigger on the following items Dayton Audio 12" Ultimax Subwoofer and Cabinet Package Part # 300-7096 Includes: Qty Part # Item 1 295-512 Dayton Audio UM12-22 12" Ultimax DVC Subwoofer 2 ohms Per Coil 1 300-7081 Knock-Down MDF 2.0 cu. ft. Subwoofer Cabinet for Dayton Audio 12" Ultimax Subwoofer $233.88 x Update Remove = $233.88 Penn-Elcom F1687 Rubber Cabinet Foot 1.5" Dia. x 0.375" H Part # 260-777 $0.97 x Update Remove = $3.88 Yung SD500-6 500W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module with 6 dB at 25 Hz Part # 301-514 $149.00 x Update Remove = $149.00 Cast Frame #10-32 Speaker Mounting Kit Part # 260-776 $3.59 x Update Remove = $3.59 I ordered yesterday and the package arrived today, a benefit of living only a few hours away from Parts Express I snapped some pictures tonight of the components and thought I'd share. I'm hoping/planning to complete this build by Sunday. Now generally I underestimate the amount of time involved in something like this. And I want to do it right. However I'm extremely motivated, out of excitement and for the fact I currently don't have a sub in my system, and I'm mechanically sound so hopefully I can get it done.
  17. FINALLY! The top of the cabinet appears to have the most wear and tear.
  18. My point is, is was very deceiving the whole way through the transaction. I'm not saying the information wasn't available. But they certainly don't showcase it like they do FREE SHIPPING!!!
