  1. Geez...looks like the cute kid story dug through the cemetery. Voted again...maybe you can vote each day?
  2. Got a couple more in there for ya, Mark. Good luck!
  3. #93...you're up by 13. Good to see you back, Mark! Was just at Cragun's last summer for a work conference and some golf...great place and the golf is excellent!
  4. I think this pretty well hits it. You'll have to decide how far you want to "future proof" - aka, do you want Atmos & DTS X, or are you fine without those? Mid-level Onkyo, Pioneer, Denon, Marantz, or Yamaha should easily be able to drive your setup. If you can, I would highly recommend finding somewhere that you can audition different receivers as each will have it's own sound. Best case would be somewhere that also has your same speakers (or will at least allow you to bring in your fronts) so you can listen to the different combination with your setup. Welcome to the forum!
  5. Completely agree. They were so much fun to work on and I really enjoy coming home and listening each night.
  6. Think of an American muscle car. It just rips 0-60 but at 100 MPH when you floor it, it just goes faster. That would be the stock K-63, nothing wrong with that and you get outstanding performance. Now picture a European muscle car. It will also rip 0-60, but if you floor it at 100 MPH, it just rips again driving your head into the headrest. That's the DH1506. Well said...that's a great analogy. Exactly how I feel with mine.

Is the 828 one of the models with HDMI board issues? Something to keep in mind, if it is. If you're not tied to Onkyo, the Denon 4520ci that gadget linked is a killer deal on a great unit that has MultiEQ XT32...which works great.
  8. That's a nice price on those. I paid $185 shipped for my pair that I've got in my CF-3s. Very happy with them.
  9. I suppose it depends which speaker the woofer came out of. If it came from the multi-colored crossover speaker, then it would match up - since that one would be a v3. If it came from the other, then you're guess is as good as mine. FWIW, when I was tryng to figure out mine, I called Klipsch and was told that the clear coated wire was only used in v1&2...but, who knows. Serial numbers would've helped, but I see M4L can't read those...
  10. Wait, so if I understand correctly, one speaker has the clear wire and the other is color? So one is a version 2 and the other a version 3... None of the version 3 had clear wire, so if one has clear it can't be a 3.
  11. On the crossovers if it has clear wire coating, it's a version 2. If it has black, red, and green wire coating, it's version 3. You're right on the ports, if they're 3" then it's not a version 1.
  12. Yeah, I saw it had started on AMC, so grabbed the disc to watch the whole thing. Might have to pop the 2nd one in tonight. Hard to believe it's been 30 years already...
  13. I'd start with Parts Express...I'm guessing Klipsch wouldn't have any original parts anymore. Could be worth a call to check though.
  14. Watched the first one. Still one of my all time favorites.
  15. Yep, another day at work here too. Probably celebrate with some cake tonight and listen to some music or crank up a movie.
  16. Found a set. Thanks Teaman!
  17. Thoughts and prayers with the family & friends.
  18. Got some good help when I was looking for a KV4 recently and was hoping someone might know of a pair of KSP S6 surrounds I could buy. Searched the CL route with no luck and the set on the bay looks, and sounds, as though it was ridden pretty hard. If you have a pair in nice shape that you'd be willing to part with, please let me know what you'd want for them shipped to 56379. Thanks!
  19. Been trying to read up on the articles they have posted and also been reading the thread on the AVS forum as well. So, hopefully, by the time I pop the disc in, I'll have a bit of an understanding what I'm doing.
  20. Very cool...glad that you like the 6500. Looked like a very good player and if I end up deciding not to hold on to the Oppo, for whatever reason, it would be my top choice as a replacement. Once the Oppo arrives (via Pony Express it seems) on Friday, I'm going to run the Spears & Munsil tests also. Will be my first attempt at video calibrating, so it's going to be interesting (or painful as I know very little)...I guess I'll see how it goes (and how user friendly it is!)
  21. Yeah I thought it was so-so, though I didn't expect much after what I'd heard and read. It wasn't terrible and was generally entertaining. All in all a decent popcorn flick. It is a very good movie to give the system a workout though.
  22. The KV-4 arrived on Thursday in perfect shape. It's about as close to brand new as it could possibly be...it actually smells brand new yet. So, I know it wasn't pushed hard or used much previously...which I know it wasn't (actually a really cool story behind this one). Impressions... First off, its huge compared to the RC-62 I had several years ago. It images perfectly with the CF-3s...ran it through Transformers AofE, 9, and Apollo 13 and the front stage is seamless. Dialogue is crisp and clear. With the entire front stage I'd say the sound feels effortless...that is, even cranking the volume it doesnt sound like the speaker is anywhere near its limits. Definitely adds something over using a phantom center setup. I know someone mentioned that it had a hollow type sound to it. That hasn't been my experience at all with it, if anything it sounds tight and clear. Very happy with how this turned out!
  23. Popcorn movie, but gives the system a nice workout.
