  1. Wow, just got this box set and must say I am very disapointed! I subscribe to the Blue Note and Fantsy reissues and love them, I am sorry but this CCR set sounds like crap on my system. We actually like CCR but the mids are way over done for our taste, to the point of being painful. I even thought something was wrong so I put on other LPs and all was great. Gary and I are normally on the same page with our lp likes, but not on this one. We only listened to 2 but it made us not want to bother with the others. rigma
  2. Wow thoes are impressive. I knew they would be and look forward to seeing the build thread. Tell me more about the passive Bi-amp and how you are doing it. rigma
  3. We actually got the idea after visiting Mrs Valeria's lovely home and seeing a similar lamp. We bought the horns off Ebay and found the shades at Wally World. We found a PWK logo online and did a reverse image of it and printed it on sticky sided mylar then stuck it to the underside of the shade. The base is two pieces of walnut with routed edges.
  4. Beck found these on Craigslist and they weren't to far from us. They are 1980 Cornwall I's oiled walnut with brown grill cloth. They were dirty, but after a nice cleaning, look and sound great. $550 which we thought was a good deal.
  5. Thanks, dtel, we love them too. We found them on Ebay a couple of years ago. They are pretty old, but not much else is known about them, no markings on them. They came from the NYC area.
  6. But Craig said LaScalas sound better than the Jubes. Could it be because he has LaScalas and has never heard Jubes? [] Just saying...... rigma
  7. Actually I've heard Jub's in there intended enviorment.... a movie theater Oh I almost forgot I once parked about a mile from Coytee house while he was mowing the lawn.. They sounded great LOL!! Nope, that don't count.. You are still a "no heard" that knows not what he speaks.[:#] rigma
  8. Seti, Yea. they are on the wall. I will post pictures. rigma
  9. Craig, Those are mine. You know full well these are not "Required"[6], still stirring that pot huh. I built them because I could[] I just wanted to build the best crossover possible and also wanted it to be a work of art. Did I succeed? The fabulous Jubilee deserves no less! I assume you still belong to the to the "no heard coalition" rigma
  10. Rudy, I will add to the conversation. I have both Klipschorns (21 years) and Jubilees(3 yrs) with 402 &TAD, and have had them in the same room same location with all the same equipment. In my opinion while the Klipschorn is a great speaker, the Jubilee is substantially better sounding. The Jubilee has the most realistic tone of any speaker I have ever heard, bar none. rigma
  11. Wow, Mike, I didn't know it was so much involved. That is very impressive. As great as the pictures are, they look even better in person, and sound AWESOME!! As always, you did a great job!! Beck & Marion
  12. Tom, If the other guys don't take them I will. Of course I will pay for packing and shipping. rigma

  16. I had a Big Green Egg for years and loved it till it cracked. I replaced it with a Traeger pellet grill. The Traeger is great, I have smoked whole pork shoulders for 22 hours without having to touch it. If you get a Traeger get the digital control. OK now for the cons. The Traeger does not get hot enough to sear a steak to my liking. I bought a TEC infrared for this. The best steak I have ever had/cooked was by starting with a 2" ribeye or fillet at room temp, brush with olive oil with a clove of crushed garlic in it, then salt and pepper sprinkled on. Put on the Traeger at 250 deg. for 20 min the move to the TEC at 750 deg for 4 mins, 1 min per flip. This will yield a steak with a chard outside of only a 1/8" or so and the rest med rare. rigma
  17. I bought the Wendell cane to redo some Cornwalls. I did not use it because of the shine. I thought it totally unacceptable. rigma
