Has anyone seen these modified Khorns on ebay? They have some sort of corner "built in" to the back of them so they can be placed anywhere. The seller claims this is ok by Klipsch as an acceptable modification. MDG, IMHO, I would not get a 2 channel receiver for HT use, you will eventually be disappointed. I like some of the ideas in this thread regarding piecing together sets of used Klipsch speakers since its exactly what I did. I am ecstatic about my setup (although I would have slightly exceeded a $1000 budget). If you are patient and put together a used matching set, you will, in the end, have a system that sounds better than a package deal. Good luck. I currently have the JBL 4638 but previously had a Klipsch KSW-12 to complement my Heresys. I thought the klipsch sounded great at any but the highest volumes. Good luck! Laandy, I agree with everyone here. I have 4 matched Heresys with an Academy front and center and I am really pleased with the results. I also have the "controversial" JBL 4638 sub. Overall sound is phenomenal whether in 5.1 or 2 channel. I was warned here about matching Heresys and I am glad I did. Sound is great and the look is great. Mattew, I have never really spent any time listening to the HK without a sub attached to it. dnd, I agree with your assessment of the clarity or "tightness" of this baby. I am intrigued by the idea of getting a BFD to improve the sound even more. I have the 2 Against Nature DVD and I like the mix. And thats listening in DD only! The camera angles are from the "on-stage" perspective, so it makes perfect sense that music/voice sources are all around the listener. I think its kinda neat that the camera angle viewing the horns usually has them on the left half of the screen to match the left rear channel placement. Just my opinion. Thanks for the replies. I will try to go into settings again and see if that holds the answer. I also found a procedure for "resetting" the player from the JVC website that involves a pretty complicated process of unplugging it, holding down 2 different buttons while you plug it back in etc,etc. I hope this works.
