  1. I see what yer saying, but if someone has the CD collection they should just re-rip it at 320 =^P If that is something you are worried about you can keep your original files tho.
  2. ^^^I don't see that happening. Thanks again for the info, I'm pretty excited about this. I had a whole bunch of albums that I pretty much didn't listen to any more due to the low bitrate and had planned on re-buying eventually. This saved me a whooooooole ton of money. Now if only iTunes offered .wav ;^)
  3. Something a little weird, there were some songs with no info on my computer and although itunes did find a match, when I downloaded it, it didn't correct the name. Kind of a bummer, but oh well, at least I have a higher quality version of stuff I have no names to =^P
  4. All my stuff still says waiting...I guess because I'm still uploading the stuff that didn't have a match. I'll just wait until it's all done before I start messing with it. Thanks for the info tho~ edit: I made the playlist, I have a little over 7000 songs that are matched. I would say my $25 was worth it. I'm guessing I have quite a bit more on my other computer as well.
  5. I've got my stuff in the cloud, how do I go about re-downloading them?
  6. Me being too lazy to look anything up, what are the specs on those amps?
  7. Crazy, I guess I don't remember CDs being out in 89 =^o Then again, I was listening to tapes until I got to college (graduated HS in 99)
  8. To be honest, I'm not sure as I've never actually used one myself. I would just start with one and see if you can get the hum to go away. Is the hum coming out of all the speakers? If so, try one and see if it stops the hum from that speaker, then you will know what to do with the rest =^) If it doesn't work, you can always return it and try something else...
  9. If you like the idea of sticking with Klipsch, I can vouch for the SW-115.
  10. Most common cause of that is a ground loop hum. Try a different outlet. Other than that, there is a loop eliminator from radio shack that is supposed to work really well for that.
  11. Pretty much my dream system, except if I'm going to go all out, I'd have to go with the 39s. If things work out the way I'm hoping, I'll be able to afford something like this in about 5 years. A long ways off I know, but no way I can justify (or afford) spending that kind of money right now.
  12. Ha, now that you've edited the original post, mine doesn't make much sense now =^P
  13. I signed up, we'll see how it goes for my library. I'm wondering if changing names of some of my songs will work better for matching. I guess I'll find out once it's done how well my stuff matches up.
  14. I've read the THX speakers aren't that good for music, so the RF-7 IIs should be a better all around speaker. Don't really know from personal experience tho.
  15. Glenn, not to pick a fight, but at the Chicago Blues Fest last year a friend of mine and I met two very lovely young ladies from London who were vacationing in Chicago. And they probably had the best dental work I've ever seen! Outstanding. I still remember their teeth. LOL From my experience the younger generations teeth are better.
  16. Out of those 3 I'd go with the onkyo 818 since you get Audyssey XT32 at a great price.
  17. Is there such thing as 'vintage' when it comes to CD players?
  18. I'll chime in with Garmin as well. I tend to use my phone a lot too when in the wife's car since mine has the garmin attached to my kenwood head-unit. The google maps works extremely well.
  19. You can actually get the Denon 4311 for within that price range. Try electronics expo.
  20. Exchange it before it's too late.
  21. There is also nothing wrong with going for modern speakers. The reference line sounds great. I would like to hear a Heritage setup tho. Anybody around NM?
  22. I am fond of my system and you can read my review in my sig. My only advice is when you figure out what you want, if you are going to go new, check out all of the online dealers listed on this site and call all of them to get the best price. I did this and was able to afford way more speaker than I had originally thought. Every place lists MSRP, but if you call you can get a way better price.
  23. I've been doing this for a lot of movies lately. It sounds awesome in my house and it's a whole lot cheaper than going out (although I still have a ways to catch up on my initial investment =^P). I just always want to see how different movies sound on my system. Now all I need is to upgrade my 42" TV, and I'll have my home theatre complete (for now).
