  1. Looked at panamax/ furman. At what point am I wasting money ? Willing to go 500 + or - some with good reason. Don't have any ground loop problem or hum. Just want meters so I know how much power I'm drawing. Need the 2 high power plugs for sure. Suggestions ?
  2. Some cornscalas and a pair of cherry 180s to drive them. Someday.
  3. Congrats on your new babies. When u move up to k-horns I'll be at your house in 20 mins to buy your belles. They are probably the closest pair to my house. I'm jealous as a green eyed monster. Best wishes . Your christmas should be plenty merry !! Good for you. Nothing is more fun than finding the sweet spot with New speakers. I drive my wife nuts getting up and moving things an inch this way then back every 2 minutes. Oh joy !
  4. Can't go wrong with glenlivit 15yr for around $40 or 18yr is really good for around $70. As far as vodka goes its belvedere. Polish then Russian. Anything filtered 6 times is the benchmark.
  5. Check out outlaw. Couldn't be happier. No fan. Runs cool and quiet. No fan needed. Tons of power. 7 x 200 from my 7700. Maybe I'm biased but after reading everything I could find I chose outlaw and don't regret it one bit. Quality product and guys have been running these Amps for years without any problems. Check out their site and forum. You can ask questions and get a quick response. Outlaws love their Amps like Klipsch guys love their speakers.
  6. Holy cow !!!!! If your doing sound for super bowl half time show. Gotta drown out that pesky crowd noise.
  7. It is hard to find good 7.1 DVDs. But multi channel stereo is the only way I listen to music. Those extra speakers really help getting you into the center of it all.
  8. My outlaw 7700 amp is the one thing I own I don't think I'll ever need to replace. Not being a computer guy I missed out on a lot of information on other products that I never knew were available. It started with oppo. When I took a chance on a direct to consumer company I scored. Great company, excellent product, total satisfaction. My second move was with outlaw. Again excellent product. Many on outlaws forum were waiting an eternity for the 978. It might have been my next purchase. Total letdown.we may never know who screwed them but that's the nature of outsourcing. Not always possible to buy American.
  9. Get a Garmin. Make sure the model # ends with LM or LMT. Being lifetime maps and lifetime maps and traffic. I could do without the traffic option which warns of upcoming traffic jams. But lifetime maps is essential. They pretty much all have spoken turn by turn directions at this level. Don't spend more than 139 or 149 for these options. With more people just using their cell phones for GPS prices have dropped for these products. I refuse to play with my phone when I drive.as you all should. Its relaxing to go on a trip and not worry about missing a turn. If you do it will recalculate automatically. Its cheap and you just leave it in the car till u need it.

    your music.

It doesn't matter what kind of music is your personal preference. What does matter is that you listen to it well. Stay ever vigilante adjusting your levels and toeing your speakers until you find it. The sweet spot ! Even when you think your there it could be better. I had the afternoon off and just had a superb listening session. I worked over everything and improved again. I don't know where you guys were today but I was IN THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE !!
  11. Watch the fifth element again. Its totally milla for me. Takes too long to get all that leather off. By the way I do own all involved movies. Fan of both. So I agree why choose.
  12. Congratulations on your new speakers. Your review was the type of talk that makes all of us crazy for more. Your spreading the deadly virus of upgradeitis to us all. Enjoy your new setup and thanks for sharing.I've been thinking of getting something new and I can move these speakers upstairs aaaaaaaahhhhh !!!!!!
  13. Pulled everything and all connections are good. I was leery about digging in but it was so simple I'm embarrassed I didn't do it right away. Sometimes I think I'll do more harm than good. Should be simple fix. I'll call for a replacement. Thanks for the push in the right direction.I appreciate your quick response.
  14. I blew a tweeter on my RF 3. They are currently on rear surround duty. What are my options? Can I replace tweeters in both RF 3 s ? What about the crossovers ? Can I match them better to my RF 82 IIS. Or am I in over my head. The woofers in the blown tweeter speaker still work fine. Is fixing these speakers cost effective ? It seems a shame to scrap them they've given me years of good service. All advice welcome.
  15. I have the same front 3 speakers as you and on my way to replacing my surrounds to exactly what you have. Check out outlaws website. They have a discount on the 7700 when you buy a marantz. I have the av7005 with the 7700 and couldn't be happier. There is more power than you'll ever need . The amplifier barely gets warm during loud listening sessions and with t.v. or movies not even warm. The av7005 has xlr outputs and no amps. This keeps the heat out of the processor which is what eventually kills all electronics. The processor stays cool the amp stays cool and you dont have to worry about overworking or damaging anything. This is my opinion of course but its what I came up with when I was in the same spot your in now. Hope this gives you some insight. I know exactly where your at. Good luck.
