Those look like the HIPs... I have a pair that are in black without the metal edge guards and I paid $500 for the pair used. I don't see any reason those would be worth that much more than the ones I bought. I agree the owner was smoking crack or some other mind altering drug to pay $10k for 4 of them. I would be more inclined to believe $2500 for all 4 brand new,.. I am not even sure they would be that much new.

I was looking at Quietrock and i found out that the one that is being compared is their least effective and least expensive one. If you get Quietrocks best product it is around $100 a sheet, which I believe is the ones that is supposed to be better than multiple layers of drywall.

Those won't last long at that price.

The difference between audio and video cables is that the video cables are all 75 ohm which is fine for audio and video... So video can be used for audio but audio cables are not a good match for video.

Frys is not known for knowledgeable sales people. If you ever go in there and find one who knows what they are talking about get their name and always use them!

Well when the picture starts to dim you will be able to remove the filter and re calibrate it... I still think it is better to have a picture that is too bright to start off with as it will last longer between bulbs.

Did you try going into the settings and calibrating the picture... It will usually make the picture less bright.

I was looking to see if you could get mineral wool in 1/4" thick panels but no luck... I wonder if You could get the 1" thick and then go to an upholstery shop and see if they could cut it down to the width of the SPUD and then cut it to 1/4" thick strips.

I had a Epson 1080 when they first came out and I just got the BenQ w1070 in July 2013... The negatives to the W1070 are... The lens shift is very minimal, and I do occasionally see rainbows. The positives are... The bulbs last 3 times as long, and the projector is much brighter. I dialed mine in, and I am running it in low power mode and I was getting 21 ftl on a 134" screen. This is considerably brighter than my Epson was but the biggest thing for me was bulb life. IMO the only advantages to the Epson are:.. Overnight replacement during your warranty and the Lens shift makes it easy to put the projector virtually anywhere you want to.

I bet it is solid! Mine is only 1 1/2" thick on the sides only and 1 1/4" on the bottom. top and back, and it is getting to heavy for me to lift by myself with out the woofer, and we are talking just the bass bin!

This is what I have so far on the mods... The sides are Maple with the top, front, and rear black. The top I am spacing up 1/4" and I have a piece of MDF to try out the look. I might end up just leaving it be MDF and paint it black too... The other option is black marble with white veins in it. Not sure how much I want to fix them up as in a couple of months they will only be seen if you go behind the screen. Once I get this part done then I will work on mounting the horns. Once that is done I will be able to get the other 2 done pretty fast.

No I think it was like less than $600... It was the daily deal and when they sold out it went back to the normal price.
