  10. No not as of yet. Im cool doing it at my house again or we could meet up at my studio which is in the city. The latter might be more central..... I know for those coming from indy and MI. The only problem I see with this venue is I don't have a pair of klipsch speakers there currently...... I wonder if Klipsch would be kind enough to send a pair or two of new speakers for us to demo????? haha right!!
  11. yeah I think there are a couple places doing it, I know of one for sure, but yeah they have an inventory of a couple million in cables that they rent/loan so one can hear the cables of choice in their system before purchasing. Kind nuts right?
  12. -I would have thought that the KAPPA C was more like a k43 - less bass -as these need 4x more power -the k33 is a 100 watts woofer versus the Kappa C 's 400 plus - please can you give us your feedback -tx Check out this link: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/149442-lascala-sonic-detail-improvement-for-only-22098/?hl=%2Beminence+%2Bkappa its the thread that peaked my interest in pursuing this mod, theres a ton of technical info shared, as in a ton.
  13. thought it could be interesting to rent some expensive cables to do some AB testing with to see what the group thought. It always seems to be such a hot topic. Anyone interested???
  14. i have CWII's and updated/upgraded the x overs, with a different vendor, it was a GREAT upgrade. I have also replaced the original tweeters with Bobs Ti diaphragms, I never found them to be harsh in my room but they did clean up the soundstage and are more articulate imo. In addition I replaced the the stock woofers with Eminence Kappa 15c's from parts express. This really cleaned up the mid lows and the bass response is way tighter. I've considered replacing the mid diaphragms but Bob didn't seem to strongly advocate it so at this point I haven't. Good luck
  15. Yeah I was thinking the saturday of feb 7th. How does that sound to you all??
  16. Who's up for a Feb get together??? Maybe the first weekend?
  17. Ok chicagoland members its 2015...... who's up for a Feb get together??? Im thinking the first weekend maybe? Is that enough lead time??
  18. Justin at Amps and Sound is now making an amp that produces big watts with KT88s at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend checking out his site and dropping him a line. You won't be sorry, he's a great guy and will have alot to share not to mention he offers a nice discount to forum members.
  19. hope you had a Rockin day! Happy birthday
  20. I have CW II's with upgraded xovers from Aletheia, ti tweets from Bob and Eminence kappa C woofers. I drive them with a Audion sterling EL34 class a 12 wpc amp and Love it. Theres one on audio mart currently. I'd also suggest taking a look at ampsandsound.com I heard their stereo 15 on my rig which sounded great too.
  21. I LOVE 2 channel stereo playback. Cornwalls + tubes = bliss Thats how I rock and roll.
  22. I replaced mine with the Emminence Kappa 15c with very good results. Parts express has them for $125. They have a much tighter bass and in turn really clean up the mid range/mid bass.
  23. Well, you can, but it's not just a matter of a switch, it's a rewiring job. yeah not a path I'd want to go down, after spending cash on a new unit, personally.
