  1. I found out this information on Stereophile’s webpage So which Svetlana is the tube that is true? If you are talking about "new old stock" (NOS)—tubes made before 2000—the words "Svetlana Electron Devices" and the stylized S are what to look for. For recent issues, look for the "winged C." The name Svetlana is still on Saratov-made devices. My tubes have Svetlana Electron Devices withe the stylized S logo, I know these tubes sound great in my Dennis Had Inspire Hot Rod power amp.
  2. I tried to post another picture but it is too big ,there is no circle c with wings on the tubes and below the 6l6gc is the number 9732 and on the other side is the letters and numbers oth 59
  3. I have a pair of these tubes I have had for at least 15 years and I was wondering if they are Svetlana winged c’s the boxes have the c circled with wings, but they are not marked on the tubes .They also are black based.
  4. Buy with confidence anything that Joe is selling, I have had multiple deals with Joe and the items have been better than advertised.I bought a pair of speakers today and Joe had to show me the imperfections and I am picky.I have never been a fan of open baffle speakers but after hearing Joe’s speakers today I may be in trouble. Thanks again Joe

  7. Trying to justify Klipsch pricing for current line of Heritage speakers and here is what I think. For years Klipsch made moderate changes to there speakers as they kinda drifted away from their Heritage line. I can remember in the early 2000’s trying to find a dealer where you could listen to Klipschorns and even Klipsch dealers that had some of the heritage models did not have them and they were made to order and to me that is why the line suffered. In the last few years Klipsch had to see what was happening with people upgrading their heritage line speakers and following the newsgroups they had to know that they had to improve the line and to do this they had to spend money on R&D and with this it caused prices to go up and now with the newer models even more R&D and with the high cost of materials they had to have price increases.12k is not chump change, but if you priced other speakers from other manufacturers with the same cabinets, drivers ,quality of the cabinets and weight of the speakers I think most would agree they would be priced way more than 12k.
  8. If you are having second thoughts about your purchase you should consider returning them.If you have had them less than 30 days you can return them.

    What I Got Today!

I picked up a Core Power Technologies equi-core 1800 and after a day of chasing a ground hum what a difference it has in my system. Thanks to Justin for his help,my issue was a bad pair of interconnects.
  10. I have a a second system and the room has some issue with noise from my electrical outlet and I was hoping these would help.
  11. What model core power technologies units are you using, I have been looking at them and they look interesting.
  12. Looks like the top grills are wrinkled and that would bother me ,it is hard to tell if what I am seeing is a reflection from the way the room is lit.
  13. I doubt it I used 2 different amps, Bob Carver VTA-20 and Primaluna EVO-300 and with both amps, I had the same issues.I changed the taps on both amps and that took care of the issue.I also swapped out crossovers I have ALK ES-400/ES-5800 and ALK Cornscala universals and both crossovers did the same thing.
  14. I changed from the 8 Ohm tap to the 4 ohm tap and that took care of the issue.
  15. Certain tracks,l need to listen more tonight to make sure.
  16. On my Klipschorns with ALK es400/es5800 crossovers I am getting a slight bass thump on certain music, I have changed amps and preamp and I still get the occasional thump. I get this with vinyl and digital.Any idea of why this is happening.
  17. When I lived in Greensboro,NC I lived in the same neighborhood and as a young man of 18 it was a treat to see him ride his bike.He was the most down to earth guy you would ever want to meet. RIP Mr. Neal
  18. Be sure and seal them into the corners using gray foam pipe insulation, that simple move will improve the bass response.
  19. Yes, upgrades that takes these great looking speakers to the next level and you could always swap out the upgraded crossovers with the originals to compare the sound. You could then sell the extra parts to lower your cost.I had a pair of 1981 vintage walnut Klipschorns thst were all original with Klipsch manuals, letters from Klipsch and original sales invoice and I sold mine for 4000.00 and the only reason I sold them was to buy a pair of Klipschorns with AK-4 crossovers and ribbon mahogany.
  20. Check out this nice pair in your state
