  1. Another suggestion is to use a wifi connection between the receiver and subs. Plenty of manufactures are producing them and they run about $100
  2. Honestly, I had a pair of KG 4.2's and tried an Academy and I tried the matching KG 2.2 center and neither worked real well. The Academy was slightly different in timbre and the 2.2 horn just does not sound anything like the horn on the KG floorstanding models. If you have room, I would seek out another floorstanding KG model as the center. With that being said, you may find the KG 2.5 to be fine in your room. If you are patient, you will find plenty. In fact, I know of a pair of black 2.5's in a local pawn shop that I'm waiting to buy when the price falls a little more. Let me know if you want them and I will see what I can do.
  3. Does this answer your question?
  4. You may try to use a single rca out from the Marantz and split in further down the path. Also, you need to make sure the two Y ends are not close together
  5. Up for sale is a set of Klipsch Icon series speakers. The speakers are in good condition and have been tested. All speakers work and all speakers are in good cosmetic condition. I noticed one small hole in the grill of one of the floorstanders around the edge. Also, the bases may have a scuff or two from being moved around. I would still rate all an 8 out of 10. Just so you know, the XF-48's are powered speakers with an amplifier on the tweeter and one on the mids. They can be connected either by low-level input RCA's or by high-level speaker wire. XF-48 Pair - $625 (MSRP - $2,499) XL-23 Single - $175 (MSRP - $499) *SOLD* XB-10 Pair - $150 (MSRP - $499) *SOLD*
  6. I've always enjoyed those amps when I've had them. I wish I would hold on to them long enough to put together all 7 channels.
  7. Make sure when you run the setup you have the mic up off of the floor. Also, are you running a sub? If not, make sure your settings omit a sub and the speakers are set to large.
  8. Up for sale is a really nice set of bookshelf speakers. 9. Well how do they sound? It's been so long since I've listened to this line.
  10. Up for sale is a pair of white RS-7's. The speakers are in good overall condition. They work perfectly and all drivers are in excellent condition. The cabinets have a little veneer pulling away and a couple of nicks around the edges. This is why I'm only asking $300.
  11. Yes, Rockford Fosgate stuff is still very good. I have a power series amp from 2011 that is extremely underpowered. It's a 4 channel that I'm running at 4 ohm on the front to channels and 2 ohms mono (1 ohm) on the sub. It is extremely well made.
  12. Digital recording has enabled people to record subpar music and fix issues after the fact. Where analog recording required much more dedication, perfection, re-recording to get it right. I believe there is less put into a recording now from the effort of the artist than there used to be. How many truly great albums have there been over the past 20 years??? The recording process is different now and does not require the artists to work toward perfection. Don't even get me started on the whole compression issue. With that being said, high efficiency, horn loaded speakers provide me with the most realistic live sound. I have had expensive $2K+ traditional speakers that cater to audiophiles and yes they provide good transients and extreme detail, but they don't seem to provide the dynamics of high efficient horn-loaded speakers.
  13. Much appreciated! It's rather chilly for this time around here. I really enjoy Denton. It's a a very cool place to be right now.

  15. I can get them packaged up this weekend and sent out to you next week.
  16. Up for sale is a KG 2.2V center channel speaker that I've used for the past month or two. It is in really good condition as you can see. I've decided to move in a different direction and now am putting these up for sale.
  17. Up for sale is a pair of KG 1.2's in great condition. I was planning to use these as rears, but I've moved on to another set of speakers. These are in really good condition as you can see. FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 50Hz-20kHz(+-)3dB SENSITIVITY: 90dB @ 1watt/1meter POWER HANDLING: 50 watts maximum continuous (250 watts peak) NOMINAL IMPEDANCE: 8 ohms TWEETER: K-86-K 1" (2.54cm) Phenolic dome compression driver HIGH FREQUENCY HORN: Exponential Cone WOOFER: K-1007-K 6.5" (16.51cm) Injected Carbon Graphite cone ENCLOSURE MATERIAL: Medium density fiberboard construction (MDF) ENCLOSURE TYPE: Bass reflex via rear-mounted port DIMENSIONS: 13" (33cm) x 9.25" (23.5cm) x 9.25" (23.5cm) WEIGHT: 15 lbs. 18. I too am always looking for the pre 1990-1991 issued cd's. All cd's since the late 90's are so compressed there is absolutely no dynamic range. I will keep a close eye on this thread for more insight in everyone's findings.
  19. I thought I would notify you with my listing of the SW-12 II I have for sale in the Garage. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/153652-klipsch-sw-12-ii-subwoofer-walnut-200/
  20. Up for sale is a Klipsch SW-12 II in Walnut. The subwoofer driver is in great condition as you can see and so is the passive radiator on the back. The unit has been tested out and performs just like it should. The cabinet is in great condition. I had to do a little refinishing to the cabinet as it was pretty scratched up when I got it. I refinished it in the original finish of Walnut and topped it of with a little Tung Oil to give it that nice clean finish and provide a little protection. There may be an imperfection or two that are slightly noticeable, but the finish looks great overall. The grill did have a few breaks in the plastic which I was able to glue back together, but it is missing one of the pegs. Also, there are a few snags in the grill cloth, but I didn't notice them from my normal listening area in my living room. Sorry for the poor pictures. I will try to retake some in the daylight.
  21. I've sold two pair of RS-7's over the past three months and got $325 shipped for a pair with the vinyl coming up in one corner and $450 shipped for a mint pair with original boxes.
