All kinds of NOPE going on right there...........
  2. Well I have a pair of speakers that I absolutely love. That said, if you were in driving distance I would give these a shot. They look too good not to sound simply amazing. Shakey
  3. My very first tube amp was an original RM9 purchased in 1999. I soon bought another one as a spare. In 2006 I sold the last one but later bought it back from the guy I sold it to. Years later, I fondly remembered it as one of the best amps I had owned. So recently I stumbled on a Mark II that was at the MR factory in Napa. Roger had refurbished it last year before he passed. I immediately bought it and received it a couple of weeks ago. It was just like welcoming an old friend into your home. I am very happy I have it. I only spoke to Roger one time when I lost an output transformer on my first RM9. He was very helpful and found one he had laying around. This would have been around 2001-2002. Long after the amp had gone out of production. He sent it out and I got the amp repaired locally. RIP Roger. Shakey
  4. I understand completely. BTW, I have owned two Modulus 3a preamps, it’s a fine piece to be sure. The Carver beat out two other amps in my system, a Decware Torii II and VTL ST-150. You can change the sound of the Carver by varying the bias. You can make it sound more or less tubey, or Goldilocks “just right”, is how I would describe it. I’ve had it for about 8 months. Shakey
  5. You would not be disappointed if you decide to buy. This is a helluva an amp.
  6. Well I've already boxed it up. But to be honest, I'm not crazy about opening it up. Doesn't bother me really, but it might be off putting to a potential buyer. Shakey
  7. This Crimson 275 is in perfect condition, not a scratch anywhere. This is an excellent sounding tube amp in all respects. I am asking 1850.00 with the stock output and driver tubes. For 1975.00 I will include a brand new in box spare Tungsol KT-120 and NOS Mullard driver tubes.

I think that one has been disproven. Would have been impressive though........
  9. Blah, blah, blah........ Face it. Nobody wants a car that shuts off at a stop light. Not even tree huggers.....
  10. There should be a way to tune that out. And that's the first thing I would do. My truck has AFM (active fuel management) and I got rid of that in a hurry. Shakey
  11. First of all, you need to get rid of Pandora and go with a lossless streaming service like Tidal or Quobuz. There should be a way to get this device connect to your controller via wifi and stream. If this isn't possible, ditch it and get a Bluesound Node 2i. But in the end, connecting any device via wired ethernet will give you the best sound quality. Shakey
  12. I don't come around much anymore, but thought I would share my new preamp. Just arrived Saturday.
  13. I have another very good dac that is an R2R ladder type. They are both extremely good and more alike than different. I just need to thin the herd. Shakey
  14. Metrum Acoustics Pavane Level 1 R2R dac for sale. Excellent condition, not a scratch on it that I can see. This is a very analog like sounding digital to analog converter. Comes with I2S module, remote control, BNC to coaxial adaptor, owners manual. Original packaging and will be double boxed. Read the excellent HiFi Plus and Six Moons reviews of this amazing DAC. Asking 1900.00 OBO. https://www.hifiplus.com/articles/metrum-acoustics-pavane-dac/
  15. I have owned two Cary products. Years ago I had a hot rodded version of the SLP-98 in Jaguar red. It was a beautiful preamp. It was very romantic sounding and not very transparent, a little soft too. I didn't keep it long. After reading all the glowing reviews of the SLI-80, I bought one of those last year. I didn't care for it at all. Poor dynamics, slow and plodding. It didn't do anything to offend, but was very bland. I moved it on out the door in about a week. So I guess you could say my track record with Cary products is not very good. That said, I did hear a pair of the AES Sixpack monoblocks in my system and thought they were excellent. Shakey
  16. I have had a Crimson 275 for almost three months now and I love it. It's very holographic and tonally neutral with just enough tube goodness. I highly recommend it. Shakey
