  1. Hey prod. What do you think you are gaining by posting your flames? You call everyone idiots and then wine about flames? You said we need to get some brains? Man you are really swift. I don't need to go back and read your posts. I have seen enough ignorance for one day. Forget my suggestion about joining the Marines. You probably would not like them. They teach duty, honor, and respect. Jethro
  2. Kain can say he likes Americans all he wants, but I remember he said Americans were stupid way back in the 911 thread. I know that you can still like someone even if they are stupid but the things he says about us makes it very hard for me to believe he likes Americans. He recently said that the American soldiers were COWARDS! Yes he really likes us. I am surprised that anyone takes the time to answer any of his boring and asinine questions since he talks this way about the good old U.S.A. Prod. You call everyone here idiots? I guess you are a mental giant. You need to learn how to write and spell before you call others idiots. A few years in the Marines would be a good move for you. Then you would learn what courage means. It takes honor to have true courage. The terrorist that you and Kain admire had no honor. They were cowardly sissyboys. Jethro
  3. Well Ear, now that I have your attention, lets see what you think. I have the Dynaudio C-3s, powered by the Krell Showcase pre & power. I am thinking about getting a sub. The C-3s are pretty satisfying for music but I will use the sub for music & HT. I'm not a total base head, but I know I need a good quality sub to keep up with the quality and detail of these speakers. Any suggestions? I will use only one sub for now. Jethro.
  4. Mike Lindsey. Great post. Especially the middle paragraph. You really hit the nail on the head. Kain asked all those questions, and had them answered mostly by Americans. Then he has the nerve to state that Americans are stupd & ignorant! A perfect example of biting the hand that feeds you. What gets me is he is still over on some of the other forums asking questions. I don't know why anyone from the good old USA would bother to help him now. Wonder if he is going to send back his American made speakers since they are built by stupid Americans? BTW. Are there any highend middle eastern Muslim speaker companies? Ranger I agree. That is a good photo. Ken Interesting link. Thanks. Jethro
  5. Lone Palm Thanks for the recommendation. Noticed you are in Louisiana. Do you like zydeco? jethro
  6. forrest. Well, TM did blow up a nursery! Lots of babies and little kids. I really can't see how anything could be any more evil. INTENT, VALUES, IDEALS? TM was a traitor. He was an American killing other Americans. That is about as treacherous and evil as you can get. Those people in the federal building were also normal everyday citizens. A lot of them may not have agreed with the policies of our government. They were only associated with the government cause they had a job assisting people with social security or other such business. They were not policy makers. They were not collateral damage caused because the enemy opposition was was hiding among civilians. I took your previous statement about TM to mean you almost approved of him. If I was wrong, then I apologize. I find it interesting that you say "people should be able to do as they please if it doesn't hurt anybody." That was the mantra of the radical liberal hippies you so dislike. Well now. It seems you have more in common with those liberals than you think. jethro
  7. deang. That may be, but I feel TM is a poor example for that comparision. TM was not a soldier. He was a terrorist. He planted a bomb next to a building full of innocent people. He was not trying to attack a military target. He is in the same boat as the 9/11 scum. jethro....
  8. forrest, In comparing pallys & obl terrorists to tim mcvey you stated, "Timothy Mcvey was not in the same boat as these thugs. His aim was not to kill innocent women and children but take them along with the US government workers. He did not do that to just kill women and children and never would." That has to be one of the most ignorant statements I have ever read. Man, defending tim mcvey. That is really just way to right for any true American conservative. TM was a gutless coward. He blew up a building with innocent women & children inside, but did not AIM to KILL them? He just took them along with the US government workers! So its o.k. to kill US government workers? Some of those workers were women. I guess since they were government workers, they were not innocent women? Were they all liberals that worked there? I'm sure that if they were indeed all liberals then that is how you and your hero mcvey were able to justify the bombing. You give us conservatives a bad name. Jethro.....
  9. Flason. Thanks. I will check it out. Jethro.... ------------------
  10. Just listining to Keepin Me Up Nights by Asleep At The Wheel, and wondering if anyone could recommend some similar stuff by some other bands. I know Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen do some excellent Texas swing ( Along with Hot Rod Lincoln ) and SRV dabbles in that sound, but who does it better than Asleep At The Wheel? Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys? I don't really care for pure country, but really like this swinging stuff, so lets hear some names of your favorite groups. Thanks Jethro.....
  11. Ken. I can name another forum. The Crownline Boat Company has a very nice forum. It is a whole lot like this one. Open to anyone, nice people, lots of expert advice, a little bit of bickering, occasional trolls. They do have more photos & a used boat marketplace. ( hello Klipsch moderators ) Crownline also sponsers a 3 to 4 day rally at a different lake every summer. Dozens of crazed Crownies hitch up their boats and head for the rally. Some travel for hundreds of miles. They not only get to meet other forum members, but also the board moderators. No stalkers. Maybe Klipsch could sponser a speaker rally every year? Would be a hassle hauling all those speakers to Hope. Horned, & Theears would need a semi. BTW, Ken. Just to let you know Arkansas is Ar not Ak. Alaska is Ak. Jethro...... ------------------
  12. Hey DNTBY4N. You said " Can't say I feel sorry for the fireman, that is the job they chose." If you are trolling, that is a real sorry way to do it. If you really feel that way about the dead fireman, then your statement is outrageous! I suppose you don't feel sorry for our brave people in the armed forces that have died, since they too chose that job. I have other things to say, but I better not! I'm sure others will put in their .02 concerning your statement. Jethro.......... ------------------
  13. Hey guys. Check out these two cds. Alligator Records 20th anniversary collection & their 25th anniversary collection. These have songs by some of the artist you have mentioned plus many more. Both cds are double discs, and I believe all songs were recorded in the 70s thru 90s. Good stuff. Jethro...... ------------------
  14. Ken. Since Klipsch can let us view the new factory construction on this site, why don't you request, no demand, that they mount webcams inside the factory? Put the pressure on. Don't let up. Just think of all the gas money everyone could save by not having to make the long trip to Hope. That would also be a no brainer as far as covering the safety angle. Should be a lot less injuries to us viewing all the action from the saftey of our homes. Jethro..... ------------------
  15. Hello Speed. I am not young, sometimes not sane, but I have had some experience with car audio upgrades. I would advise that you try to find some reputable car audio speciality shops if possible. If you are having it installed, they will probably not do as much damage as a place like Circuit City. I also feel that these shops will be able to point you in the right direction concerning what goes good with what. Auditioning this stuff is at least as hard & probably harder than home stereo. It can be a real guessing game for sure. My present system was done in 1998 and I still grin every time I play it. It is in a Dodge quad cab. Speakers are what was top of the line Polk Audio. 6 1/2 inch front door, 5 1/2 inch rear door. Both are coaxial & fit in the factory mounting places. Two 10 inch Polk subs mounted in an MTX enclosure under the rear seat. This enclosure is designed for this vehicle & is sorta like the JL Audio stuff. The front & rear speakers are powered by a Pioneer 40w x 4 amp. The subs powered by a Pioneer 50w x 2 amp. Those are mounted under the drivers seat. The head unit is a middle of the line Pioneer cd player. It is oversized to fit the large dash opening in the dodge truck. Also a 12 pak cd player under the passenger seat. This system totally smokes any factory system that I have ever heard. I have the bass toned down so it is not boomy. The sound is very detailed. I guess you could say it has good imaging & soundstage, but since it is in a truck I really have to say it is like you are sitting on stage. It impresses the hell out of everyone who hears it. It proves that you just do not need mega watts for a satisfactory car audio system. I liked it so much that I put a very similar system in my boat. This system cost between $2000 - 2200 installed. I did buy some of the stuff on closeout sale. I am not familiar with the Diamond or MB Quart brands so can't comment on those. They might blow away my stuff for all I know. I have heard some Boston stuff & did not like it as well as the Polks. They were powered by lower quality amps so maybe that is not fair. You will not find anything to compare with your fine home system that will fit in your Jeep. However with some careful shopping you can get a system that you will enjoy a whole lot more than any factory stereo. Jethro....... ------------------
  16. Deang. Man you got a lot of guts. If any of those lp worshipers read your post the stuff will hit the fan. Have you guys tried the gold cds such as Mobile Fidelity, Sony, Au20, Dcc. These are all digital remastered from the original master tapes. While I don't think they are 24 bit they do sound better than the normal cds. However I don't think that they are as big as an improvement as the Mobile Fidelity lps were compared to regular lps. That was like night & day. Just the reduction in the pop, pop, scratch, scratch noise was worth the 2 times price. I like to get those out every now & then as they do sound nice. Cds are just so much easier to deal with. Jethro....... ------------------
  17. Mike Lindsey. Good post. I have long subscribed to the theory that people seem to get hung up or on the music that was popular during their youth. As you said, you can remember where you were when you heard them, and it brings back warm memories. Boy, there is nothing like warm malt shop memories! I think that kids today will be the same as they age. ( minus the malt shop memories ) Our parents generation still favor the stuff that was popular when they were young. Glenn Miller, Woddy Herman etc. While I agree that todays pop seems to lack talent, I can also remember my parents generation condeming my music, ( Beatles, Stones, CCR, Beach Boys, etc) as having no talent, can't understand them, all they do is scream & play screeching electric guitar, & my favorite, "rock is just a fad." I fear that we are begining to sound like our parents!! (Again) Like you I am glad I don't have to listen to this new music. I will just turn on some Marshall Tucker or Pure Prairie League, while waiting for John Fogerty to crank out another album. Please hurry John!!!!! Jethro........ ------------------
  18. Jim. Thanks for your reply. I have experienced the missing of the letters problem that you are having trouble with. What brand of keyboard are you using? I have used both a Sony and a Samsung. For me the Sony does a lot better job. In fact I hardly ever have to go back & fill in with the Sony. With the Samsung my sentences woud lok lik this sometims. Jethro....... ------------------
  19. I thought my reason for staying at home was a pretty good one, but this whole piss in the cup thing has me thinking maybe I need to qualify that statement. My reason is only good if you find using the the Compact Personal Toilet (CPT) in the theater impracticable, impossible, or discusting. If you can overcome all of those drawbacks then the use of the CPT clearly cancels out my reason. So go ahead, take your shot in the dark, and don't miss a moment of that fine movie theater experience! Jethro..... ------------------
  20. Well guys your reasons to stay at home & your reasons to go out are all valid. I think you guys missed one of the best reasons to stay at home. You can just hit the pause button when you gotta go pee!!! Jethro........ ------------------
  21. Jim. Congratulations for being a new dad. That is really nice. I noticed on another forum that you had a complaint about webtv. I have had one for 3 or 4 years, so feel free to email me if you need some tips about this device. I am not a expert but do have several hours of experience. Deang. I sold my DQs account of space considerations. It was a good deal for me as it was to a relative, so I had visiting rights. Now for the bad part. What I did not count on was their divorce. After the smoke cleared the DQs went in the wrong direction! Have not seen them since. Now I will answer your next question. Right now I have all NHT speakers. I do like a lot of things about these and may keep them. One of the major criticisms of this brand is that they are too bright-harsh. Does that sound familiar to you Klipsch owners?? These are a bit on the hot side, but all speakers are that way in my only tv/sound room. I have a lot of glass so it is hard to tame this problem. Well now that I have exposed myself as the owner of another brand of speakers, I guess I will head for the bunker. Radar is on alert for incoming flames!! Jethro.... ------------------
  22. HornEd. Thanks, & you are right. Deang is most eloquent and very thorough. Deang. Wow!! Thanks for the indepth review. That was a lot more that I was expecting. Very good. I do agree with most of what you say about the DQs, I will say I tend to agree with your friend Gary about the shrillness at higher spl. While I did notice this sometimes it seemed to be on poor quality recordings. Never noticed it when playing any of my prized Mobile Fidelity lps. You are right about the soundstage. That was the part that amazed everyone who ever listened to them. Mr Dahlquist was on to something with his "phased array" design. Seemed like most anywhere was the sweet spot. Hmmm, maybe he shodda horn loaded his 4 upper drivers. The heritage brotherhood would even approve of that as they seem to be a bit put off by the single horn in the new RFs. You are out numbered here but it looks like the RF7 crowd is growing. You, Theears, now Gary G. Maybe me next. I just got to go listen for myself & it is a long trip. Gary. Deang is right. Wives are people too. It just seems most did not get that gene that thinks big boxes & towers, with wires running to all sorts of strange electronic equipment, surrounding a big screen, is proper interior decor. I think most of us men got that gene twice. Jethro....... ------------------
  23. deang. Let me be among the first to congratulate you on your purchase of the Rf7s. Was glad to read your informative review & hope that you will update as the 7s break in. I noticed a comment you made in the jihad topic Rf7s vs Cornwalls about the Dahlquist DQ-10. I had a pair of the DQ-10s for several years. I am interested in your impression of the Rf7s compared to the DQs. I realize that the speakers are a lot different, & you may not have heard the DQs for a while so this may be asking a bit much. At the time I had the DQs I had several friends with Klipsch (Heresys, La Scalas, Khorns). We thought that overall one was not really that much better than the other, just different. Just so I don't get those Cornwall guys all cranky again, I did not mention the Cornwalls in the above comparison cause I have only heard the Cornwalls once in a stereo store listening room, but thought that they were very nice.
