Marantz PM 6005/6004 vs Onkyo Tx-NR807 for Stereo
mattSER replied to MrJapan's topic in Home Theater
Yes, RB-10 matches. I don't know what you mean by "object bases". RB-10 is a good match, but RB-41 is better match. Both speakers are very small. -
Don't regret your purchase. I, for one, prefer the KLF-20s over the CF-3s.
-
Excellent deal! Can't go wrong for that price.

Wow! Wonder how long this is going to last? I might be getting my P17's this year!

The ones in the corners appear to be wider? Are those La Scala II?

The listed measurements include the base because they're not removable.

That receiver should work just fine. As long as the speakers have an ohm rating that is equal to or HIGHER than the amplifier, then everything will be fine. If the speakers' ohm rating is lower than the amplifier's, then it would be drawing too much power and possibly overheat the amp. Say the amp is rated for 100w @ 8 ohms, then 4 ohm speakers would be trying to pull 150 - 200 watts. Of course, a lot of this only matters when you're really cranking the volume.

Demoee and Demoers? Post Your 2 Channel Vids here

I recently owned a pair of KG4 and they were surprisingly impressive. Far better than the newer KG 4.2. Very nice model. -
The 280's win by a mile for me. The Quartets sound boxy and compressed by comparison.

Excellent condition, missing one sticker, nearly perfect grills. Oiled Oak I'm going be putting them up on Denver Craigslist. I don't want to ship them, but if any forum members are interested in local pick up, you can have them for $100. KG2

BTW, those ProMedia 2.1 subs are by far the most faulty product Klipsch has ever put its name on.
-
I think he's saying he brought his functional promedia 2.1 system that he had at work back to his house, tried it at home and it's suddenly malfunctioning just like his home system.

My 15yr Old Daughter's 1st Stereo System
mattSER replied to Youthman's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Awesome surprise. RB-5 are so smooth. My "wife" doesn't mind all the large speakers, but she can't do without a subwoofer. -
Still totally worth it
-
Wow! That would be a good price for just the towers.
-
Considering msrp of the 150m's is $500(and under), then RP-140m's would be around $400. That's $200/ea. Meaning you have around $400 "worth" of amplification and wireless tech inside EACH monitor.

Hah, bingo. Reference gear gets dented more because they look better without the grills.
-
Damn, look at all that gear in the background!
-
I have to strongly disagree with this. I've purchased well over 20 pairs of used Reference speakers in the last three years and have only come across ONE pair of RF-3s with significant damage. I didn't buy them. And of all the speakers I did purchase, only one woofer on my third pair of RF-35s had a minor crease near the edge. But to say that it's rare to see them without damage is silly. Seems to me, in the CO market anyway, damaged woofers comprise maybe 1% of Reference gear out here.
