Thanks for the location info. Let me suggest a couple of things. You said you have about $12K to spend. You can get an excellent system for that much. Is the $12K for audio only, or does that include upgrading the theater room treatments, seats, projector and screen? I saw you are considering the Denon 6700 and the Marantz 8015. You really can't go wrong with either one, both are excellent from everything I've read or seen. I have never heard either one, I own a Marantz SR-6011 with an external 5 channel amp, Emotiva XPA-5. Briefly, you probably want to consider the Klipsch RF series of speakers. That is their flagship line. R= Entry level RP, Reference Premier = Mid tier RF and the center RC-64 III = Flagship This has the best sound and furniture grade cabinets. Made in Hope, Arkansas +++ I'll stop here for the moment. You will find others will give you suggestions as well. We have really knowledgeable people on this forum. The people who own this equipment, the AVR's that you are interested in, for instance are in the best position to guide you in that area. I would also suggest you talk with @Paducah Home Theater, Cory. Or @Scrappydue, Steven, two good dudes. They work together and are a Klipsch dealer and they sell other stuff like AVR's. They ship the big box speakers to you not with UPS Fed Ex etc, but with a carrier on a pallet for safe shipping. Their prices great and are regular members of this forum. I have bought from them and their prices and service are the best I've seen. They will sell to you, but they don't try to "sell you" something, if that makes any sense.

The best way to get archival information from anything on the internet is something called the "wayback machine." Klipsch used to have a lot more info on discontinued models with detailed info but they don't do that any more. +++ When you say "spec sheets for discontinued models" exactly what info are you looking for? Do you want XO points, the internal speaker driver model numbers? Do you need specs for the XO's themselves? Are you building the center channel from scratch? I think the members here might be helpful to point you in the right direction in building that Heresy center.

Grab those 600M especially if you can get a good deal on them. Add a little 100 wpc mini-amp and they go great anywhere. Bedroom TV speakers, computer setup, etc. I think you'll find a place for one of the best Klipsch speakers for-the-money in the current line up. I own the 600M. I've not heard the 500M.

Let me evaluate these in stock form then I'll consider the add-ons. 1972 LS in Good condition average $1208. I don't give it any greater value for the grills but since the Seller cut off the OEM grill I would deduct $100 from the average. It's hard to see the condition because of lack of pics but I'll say these are in Good condition, as opposed to Average/Poor. They have both Klipsch badges. With OEM XO's I would knock off another $100, the cost of updating. That puts these at $1000. Now for the interesting part. For a total of $1366: Crites A/4500 XO - $260 Crites Type A XO $235 Crites CT-120 - tweeters $240 Crites K55-G Mid - $365 Crites Woofers $266 +++ You could sell off the used stock parts to recoup part of your investment $325 rough estimate. K-77 Tweet pair - $75 K55-V - pair $150 Woofer - pair guessing $100. +++ Bottom line: A stock LS worth $1000 with $1366 worth of add-ons is right on the asking price of $2300. Sell off the Crites Type A and the OEM parts deduct $445. That brings your total cost for an updated LS after sell-offs to $1855. The asking price of $2300 is not a crazy price as it looked at first glance.
