  1. Well mine was not too happy with the KLF30's. She thinks speakers should be little and out of the way. She changed her mind one evening when I was in the garage putting a t-case in my FJ40. She watched "Lord of the Rings" and afterwards exclaimed that she never thought sound could add so much to a movie. She actually said she likes them now and bought me a 57" RP HDTV for X-mas. I think she is getting me a new progressive scan DVD player for V-day. She considers going to the "TV-room" like going out! She always asks...what movie do you have today and even gets depressed if I don't have one. I'm going to need a bigger cabinet to store DVD's in!
  2. MY Yamaha RX V-2200 receiver is. It did not say in manual but I tried it and works fine.
  3. I watched it on my Sony 57" widescreen HD ready RPTV. Comcast cable in Nashville area has HDTV on some of their digital cable boxes. I was one of the first three in Murfreesboro to get it. It is broadcasting two HBO's, one Showtime, ABC, and CBS in HD. It also has other channels with 5.1 sound. Since getting HD cable my DVD player is put to shame. I now want to get a progressive DVD player! It never ends..... Oh about the game..it was great to see on HD with 5.1 sound. My wife had me turn it down on a few commercial breaks. HD is the way to go!
  4. 1. The brand I bought is Plateau 2. It suited my need and I can add shelves - I like it alot. 3. It was about $339 for the TV rack, $279 for the 4 shelf component rack and $99 for the added 5th shelf. Free shipping and no sales tax for ordering on internet. I bought from http://www.avfurnishings.com . Not affiliated yada yada yada. They also sell Sanus and Bell'o
  5. My parents have one. They have it sitting on one of their Heresy speakers. Mom likes to play cds in when she has the bridge club over.
  6. Yes I did mean KSP-S6. He says they are perfect $330 plus $30 for shipping.
  7. My dealer has some KSB-S6's he took in on a trade and he says they would work with KLF30's and KLF-C7. Does anyone have a decent picture because the KLIPSCH websight does not have one. Any thoughts on the match? Thanks in advance. Michael
  8. I was in same boat as you. My KLF-30's changed the color of my Sony 27" Vega on one side. I cut a piece of 14 gauge sheet metal same size as side of my cabinet. I placed it next to tv and it shunted the magnetic field. It help alot. I now have a 19' x 20' room and no longer need it.
  9. Well we have settled in our new house, got grass growing, can park 2 cars in garage, have my Berkline Cinema Series seating set up in "My Room" and have all my speaker wires hidden. It is now time to upgrade the TV to a big screen. I have it narrowed to a 55" mitsu or 57" Sony both widescreen HD ready. What says the forum? The Sony cost a little more but it has few more features like the memory stick on front panel. The Mitsu has a wider top for setting my KLF-C7 (or a reworked KLF-30). It is going to happen this weekend!
  10. I am new to the acoustic treatments idea but will research it. The SVS is high on my list as well as a bigger TV. I have my eye on a Sharp 55R-WP5H but it is still undecided. The 36" Sony Vega is a good buy and will leave more money for other goodies. Will the projector work with a 8' ceiling? What do you guys/gals recommend for rear surrounds for the KLF-30's ? I am using KSB-1.1's now. I thought about using my Heresy's now that I have some room. Some KLF-10,20, or 30's would be probably be best matched but my wife hated the first set. I guess she would like them better if they were not black. I don't like to push it too much...I still like sleeping with her. 11. Well after house hunting for a over a year we have finally came to a compromise! We found a house that she likes and it has a rec room to suit my needs. All 19'x21' above garage. She is happy that my KLF-30's are not going to be displayed in the living room and I am glad that I have room for dual SVS subs and a bigger screen TV. Wah hoo!!! Now all I need is a giant complicated looking remote...
  12. Since buying my KLF-30's I noticed that I don't have enough juice at the wall outlet. My Klipsch dealer recommended a product from this company: http://www.richardgrayspowercompany.com/ He also suggested dedicated line which I plan to do in near future. For the inquiring minds...my Yamaha RXV-2200 Receiver shuts down when playing certain CD's at very loud levels. I thought is was a problem with the receiver but when I pre-amped to my Carver M500t it actually stuttered. With my Heresy's hooked up to same equipment, same CD's it never missed a beat. It wasn't near as loud either. I NEED MORE POWER!!!
  13. I bought my Heresy's used for $560 at age 17. I'm 40 and still have them. They still rock!!!
  14. My parents have Heresy speakers with a somwhat cheap Pioneer receiver. I bought Dad a DVD player that can play cd's into the stereo for x-mas. Mom still plays her cd's thru a Bose radio/cd player that she has sitting on one of the Heresys. I think they are tone deaf. Maybe I can talk them out of the Heresys?
  15. I read this theory once when shopping for cables. http://www.audioquest.com/theory/cable_theory.html
  16. I have had good service from NETFLIX. I have slowed on rental due to summer activities so I may reduce the amount of videos out.
  17. I just finished watching Fast and Furious in DTS. It was great! I had to turn down the volume from my "normal" listening level. I have a pair of KLF-30's for fronts, KLF-C7 center, KSB1.1 for rear surrounds. I am using a Sony DVP-C660 DVD player, Yamaha RX-V2200 for processing, and a Carver M500t driving front speakers. I have my LFE directed to mains and wonder what it will be like when I get my SVS 20-39 CS+ .
  18. Wire? I found this at Walmart: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?cat=3987&dept=3944&product_id=1654307&path=0%3A3944%3A3987%3A3964%3A4537
  19. Try ANTHEM. I am looking at the MCA 5 and it can be found for $1100 plus shipping. The MCA 3 would fit your needs. I heard that Paradigm bought these guys. http://www.anthemav.com/frames/mcafr.html
  20. Here Here!! Tennessee boys do know to how to pick a fight. I for one didn't know squat about HT equipment and have only started to update my outdated equipment. My SAE amp and tuner are sitting in my attic now. I do lurk and try to learn from others mistakes and am willing to try new things. I did get rid of my TOSLINK and replaced it with a Coax...In my mind it made a difference. I have discovered that I have a voltage problem that reared its ugly head when I replaced my Heresey's with KLF-30's. I need a dedicated circuit and maybe (in what order?) a Richard Gray Power Company gizmo box. When will it end? It was much simplier when there was only two speakers and some zipcord hooked up to your amp. I for one will enjoy this thread and the many more like it in the future. 21. I bought the Yamaha RX-V2200. I chose it mainly because I wanted a Yamaha. I chose this particular one because it of the 6.1ES, Dolby PROLogic II, pre-amp outputs, and 60mhz component switching. The fronts are hooked up to a Carver M500t driving KLF-30's. The center is driving a KLF-C7, and for now I am using KSB1.1's for surrounds. I plan to use my Heresy's when I can get rid of some of the wifes useless furniture(just kidding). I plan to get a SVS 20-39cs+ in near future. I was planning to drive it with another M500t bridged. This should easily be able to drive the SVS until the pictures fall off the wall. For the record I get no hiss unless it was recorded on the CD. This message has been edited by Michael Greenway on 03-29-2002 at 09:59 PM
  22. I converted my TOSLink to a Monster Digital Coax this weekend. I listened to a few cd's and watched a few movies. It seems to me that base is tighter. My review is not complete.
  23. I used to have a car when I was in Highschool (77-80) that you could put a 100 bill on dash and hit the gas. Passenger could not reach bill until I let up. That is what I called being pushed back into seat. LOL Those were the days! Klipsch content: The local Klipsch dealer also sold Alpine car stereos. I of course had to have one. Well anywho I used to visit another car stereo dealer that sold Pioneer Supertuners and Jetsound amps. He called me the Alpine man. 20 yrs later he now sells Klipsch, Paradigm, Montana, Krell, and many other brands. He even has a Bose setup so people can hear how bad they sound. What a salesman!
  24. What is the nominal impedance of your Polks? Are you running more than a pair of front speakers? If you have just one pair on front then there should not be a problem using the Yamaha.
  25. Have you tried setting your receiver front speakers setup as large? Just a thought...
