  1. If you are happy with the RF-3's, no need to worry about upgrading. I go through so much stereo and surround equipment my wife wants to kill me. You can see by my signature what I have set up in my house already. Not counting the 2.2 system I will put together once the Outlaw amps show up. I have issues.....lol! I have two closets full of stuff I no longer use, or simply do not currently have set up. I have so many components down there I lost track. I have at least six Infinity quadrapole speakers, a slew of Technics amps, cd players, cassette decks, EQ's......even a complete compact high end stereo. Add in my hoard of Klipsch.....let's see... RS-3 II's, an RC-3 II, like five KV-3's, a KMC center, KV-2's, KV-1, SB3's, SB 2's, B3's.......... I am like a pack rat. All of it works and most of it is inreally good shape so I keep thinking I will have a need to swap it in or something....it is an addiction!
  2. I have a pair of the UPA-1's and three XPA-2's and I would say they sound fairly similar. The UPA-1's a re a lot easier on the back and much easier to find shelf space for. Both have wonderful range and plenty of bass extension. Of course some of that depends on the speakers you run them with. If I could swing it I would have XPR-1's paired mono blocks for every system I have. Until I win the lottery what I have now works!
  3. Plus the 5yr warranty doesn't hurt either. You will see, like many others among us....this journey never ends.....lol! I am in talks over on the Emo forum for another ERC-2 now......like I need that!
  4. Not sure if you are aware, but the XDA-2 can be used as a preamp with dual purpose. You can run out to your amps via XLR while at the same time running dual (or a single) powered subwoofer via the RCA outs. I have that set up with a pair of Heresies and a pair of Speakercraft Bass-X10's. Sounds amazing. Same set up I am going to run with the Outlaw amps as stated above.
  5. You really can't beat the pricing on the factory refreshed goodies they have. If I had more space I would buy more. I actually just received my fifth XDA-2 today. Going to run it in a 2.2 with a pair of Outlaw Audio mono blocks through apair of Klipsch KG 2.2's and a pair of Infinity BU-2 powered subs. I just sent you the list I had with pricing. I was running a pair of KP-250's and a pair of KSB 3.1's powered by the Emotiva UPA-2 recently and it worked great.
  6. Sorry, yes I was running RF3 II's with RS-3 II's and an RC-3 II center. I sold the RF-3's a little while ago but still have the other three. Whatever it is, the clarity is fantastic with the series speakers but they seem harsh over prolonged listening periods.
  7. Hey Ibiza, I would definitely look at running an XPA-2 or UPA-1's or something to power the towers and let the Fusion power everything else. I have three XPA-2's and a pair of UPA-1's spread out in different systems in my house and they sound fantastic. Ample power for about any speakers you wish to throw at them. There were a pair of UPA-1's in the Emotiva forum. Have not seen anything posted of them selling. http://emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/41769/emotiva-sale I used to own a UPA-2, which is very nice as well. Emotiva has a bunch of factory refreshed amps, preamps and almost everything else available. You have to call them directly at the 877 number though to find out exactly what they have. I spent half an hour with Cathy Laufman on the phone yesterday and have all the priices available for what they have ready to sell....at least as far as amps. PM me if you want me to forward the pricing to you. Really good deals.
  8. I had the same thing with my two hours of listening to the new line of Klipsch speakers with the copper spun woofers. They sure look pretty but after a while you get a ringing in your ears and it seems to hang on....and on... I have a pair of RC-3 II's and an RC-3 II and they seem very harsh to me after any prolonged length of time. I have them stored away and will probably be selling them. I went back to my KSB 3.1's and my KSP-S6 surrounds with a KSP-C6 center. I love the sound stage and ease of listening.
  9. Glad you are enjoying the new speakers. They seem to impress!
  10. I saw those....flanked by a pair of monters!
  11. Yeah, he used the Klipsch design sheet and made them out of plywood. Still may sound good because of the components but when you can find authentic La Scalas for near that same price I would not even consider these.
  12. I contacted him about them as he is local to me. At first he had them listed for the entirety of the listing at $499 starting bid and got no bids, now he raised it to $549 They are home made replicas if you read the descriptions, not originals.....although the components are originals from Lascalas. I would want to hear them first.
  13. I'd bet those would sound sweet in a center set up. I have to get rid of some excess myself before i start any new projects though....

    What I Got Today!

I just picked up a factory refreshed Emotiva XDA-2 Preamp/DAC/Headphone amp to pair with my new Outlaw Audio M2200 mono block amps. I am going to set them up to run the amps to my Klipsch KG 2.2's through the XLR outputs and a pair of powered subs through the RCA outputs on the XDA-2. This is the 5th Emotiva XDA-2 in my house. I love that you can dual purpose these preamps to run both outputs simultaneously, plus the DAC portion sounds amazing. At $180 shipped I could not pass it up......it definitely paid for me to call Emotiva direct. I may buy a few more for the kids rooms.....hehehe!
  15. http://emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/42061/outlaw-2200 Here are a pair of Outlaw Audio mono block 200 wpc amps on the Emotiva forum. Nice price too. I actually just bought a pair of the same, have not received them yet though.

    What I Got Today!

I just bought a pair of Outlaw Audio M2200 200wpc Mono block amps from the Emotiva forum. Couldn't pass them up for $150. Going to pair them with an Emotiva XDA-2 preamp for 2.2 channel sound with a Panasonic plasma in a small sitting room. I have a similar set up for two channel audio and a pair of Klipsch Heresies so it should sound good. The room is too small for surround so this is the next best thing.
  17. I watched Man of Steel last night. Nicely done and the sound and visuals are really good.
  18. That Dire Straits disc is fantastic. Another track to bring your speakers to life is Michael Jackson's Dirty Diana. Great recording and the bass line pops your woofers into action.
  19. Sorry Moray, I did not know what speakers the OP was referring to so I thought maybe you had posted in the wrong thread about the KLF 30's. Now that I understand I see your point. I wouldn't think they would be the inferior speakers either but along with what others said, sometimes the taste in musical preference has a lot to do with what somebody likes better....for them. I guess that is why there are hundreds of speaker manufacturers so that everyone can find what suits their needs best. Carry on!
  20. ???????????..........Last post lost me totally...
  21. I am a huge fan of Panasonic plasmas but since they are no longer available....if you can find a nice Samsung plasma I would aim in that direction. You can't beat a plasma for clarity and detail, plus the darks are the darkest you will find anywhere. Happy hunting!
  22. Thanks for the support guys, and sorry Ibiza if in any way it came across that I was hijacking the thread. You certainly have a lot on your plate and I wish you all the best!
  23. Sorry to hear the bad news gift that keeps on giving. I feel your pain. I have had a black cloud following me since 2012. 2012 - Had to get extremely painful series of rabies shots after bat interaction. 2013 - Came down with mystery illness and dropped 40 lbs in two months, fever, sweats, no apetite, etc...was misdiagnosed as lymphoma. Never figured it out but doctors dismissed it after the wieght started coming back on and I started feeling better. They guessed it was a strain of the flu. 2014 - Stepson commited suicide at age 25 and shocked all of us. Been with him since he was 2 yrs old. 2015 - One of my best friends just died last month from flesh eating bacteria and my wife's best friend just got diagnosed last week with breast cancer. Please, do as I am Ibiza, keep heavy on the prayers. Hopefully things will work out. Sending thoughts and prayers to you and pulling for you! Tim
  24. I think there is an issue with the XPR line and international shipping. Probably due to weight.
