Asking prices on used Heritage Speakers
nickyboy6100 replied to Robert Gervais's topic in General Klipsch Info
Prices are up on everything, so that doesn’t help. The main 2 contributors in my opinion are: #1 The price of new heritage. #2 More people realize how good older Klipsch Heritage is. What can you buy new that comes close to a pair of Chorus? -
Not saying there wasn’t one. I just didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. I always thought that all hell would break loose at Metallica shows, but in my experience, they’ve all been pretty laid back. I can tell I’m getting older though. We had pretty good seats. In my younger days I would have never sat and watched a show. I’d be on the floor. We made comments all show how nice it was to be in seats. I think I’m about ready to make the switch to white New Balance. 😆

Not that I was aware of. This was in St. Louis. Most shows I’ve been to in the last few years have involved numerous rude people. I’ve never dealt with that at Metallica shows. Most folks are pretty laid back. I would highly recommend seeing them. Now leaving the venue was a different story. Very chaotic. I go to quite a few shows every year. Usually I gravitate toward less popular acts, but Metallica is up there with the best I’ve seen.

I went to see Metallica this past weekend. Kirk Hammett plays that Les Paul “Greeny”. It sounds fantastic. Actually, all their guitars sound great. I am amazed how good they sound live. They didn’t have a single monitor on stage.

I sent Klipsch parts an email. Maybe I’ll get lucky. Thank you for the suggestion.
-
Actually no. It didn’t even cross my mind.
-
It’s a full set of tweeters, mids and horns with K-horn grilles. He’s asking quite a bit and I only need the mid horns. Thanks for looking out though.
-
I might end up taking you up on that.

Holy Moly!

Need a set of K400 or K401’s in good shape. Thank you.

What treatment for my 1990 Heresy cabinets?

Whoever did it made them look really nice. Hard to beat a set of raw birch La Scala’s in great condition. -
LaScala Questions about Crossovers and Drivers
nickyboy6100 replied to Trinity3's topic in Technical/Restorations
The K55m are good drivers. I’ve had all the different K55’s and really couldn’t tell much difference between them. AA crossover’s would work great for your application. -
I ended up buying it. Never know when I might need it. I have never seen a set of trim come up for sale.
-
Not as rare as Underground Jub’s or a unicorn, but still pretty rare.
-
Very rare to find only the trim for sale. No affiliation. https://www.ebay.com/itm/145366680311?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=xdUWvfg2TGO&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=36W6FH67TXO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Love my KG4s, but what is next?
nickyboy6100 replied to Lettuceman500's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Stick with your Kg4’s unless you have room for a much bigger speaker. -
What do you think of the A-55-G’s compared to the standard K-55? Are you nervous about the trade off between the bass of the La Scala and the 396? These are question I have myself as I am looking at getting a pair of KP301’s or 396’s. I’ve had a few pair of the pro speakers, but not the two models I mentioned above. I love my La Scala’s. They will stay no matter which pair of pro speakers I get.
-
I looked for a really long time before finding mine. Be ready to travel if some come up for sale. They are worth it.
-
Just so there is no confusion, I’m keeping my La Scala’s. I will always at least have a pair of those. I have another building that I want to put the 301’s in. Might end up with 362’s. I’ll have to see which I like best.
-
Thanks for all the response to the posting. I’ve been out of town so apologize for my late response. I think I found what I’m looking for, and more. Going to head to the Lexington, KY area in the next couple weeks to check a few different pairs of speakers out.

Vintage La Scala - modifications and general updating
nickyboy6100 replied to Scottsman's topic in Technical/Restorations
Just listen to them for awhile before you do anything. Stock La Scala’s sound great. -
Top hat dimensions as follows. Sorry for the delay. Width= 24-1/16” Depth= 24-3/4” Height= 11-3/4” This is with aluminum trim installed.
-
I’ll try and remember to take some measurements when I get home and post them.
-
It’s worth keeping them. They are industrial split La Scala bass bins. Probably have K-43’s in them.
