  1. One of the great things the guys at Ohm Accoustics did was a variant of this. Corner caps over styrofoam and pressboard with another layer over top. All the way from Brooklyn NY to the NWT. Check out the photos one my Ohm Wash Something different thread.
  2. I'd keep them, you can order brand new updated cans from Ohm Accoustics. You'll be glad you did.
  3. That would have been a great show. You are fortunate to have seen it.
  4. This looks like it is getting worse by the minute. Getting a lot of coverage up here in Canada.
  5. Marantz AVRs rarely disappoint.
  6. Looks like we may finally get together this June if you are in town. A convention I do every year (each year different city), will be held in Edmonton this time. Very easy to rent a car and zip on down. My wife will be coming so some West Edmonton Mall shopping will be in the mix as well as a Shabbat at our synagogue. I'll pad a few days onto the trip.
  7. We will most definitely NOT being retiring here. Once we wrap up (about ten years or so), we'll most likely be heading down to Alberta. May even consider New Brunswick because of the low cost of living. The guy in the photos (Dave) bought a new-ish condo in Fredericton last year, incredibly affordable. Once he packs it in next year away he goes.
  8. NAD is good for any line or brand for that matter. They have made great products for decades. My first ever CD player back in the early eighties was NAD. My introduction to the brand.
  9. I understand the term fully. They originally offered high definition CDs, a format I can use. There is always higher def, but if not compatible with my system not much use.
  10. Very impressive. I don't watch Super Bowls that often, really glad I did tonight.
  11. Holy crow what a game. This game is shaping up to be as exciting as the 2016 Grey Cup.
  12. Yes, she did a good job and obviously has no fear of hieghts!
  13. I see they no longer offer music on standard CDs.
  14. I have noticed very subtle changes in sound over a few days. Not much at all really. I subscribe to the theory that what is actually breaking in for the most part is your own hearing, as you adjust to the new sound and your "audio memory" of your old speakers fades.
  15. The day we left. First thing in the morning it was snowing to beat sixty - we doubted we would be getting out. The winds however really picked up and things cleared about an a hour before the flight. This is the runway with Franklin mountains in the background.
  16. Sun coming up over the Mackenzie River as seen from the Royal Canadian Legion.
  17. Northwest Territories.
  18. Lol, yes it is a bit nippy up this way. -27 this morning for my walk to work.
  19. Nice night shot as we slipped out for a quick smoke. It was wing night in the hotel pub. Had a great time.
  20. If I hadn't spent so much marital capital on those new speakers I would have bought this Dall Sheep mount on the spot. $3400 Canadian, which is pretty good. There are a number of hunting lodges around Norman Wells - moose and sheep are the big draws.
  21. They have a small local museum with a great gift shop. A lot of nice mounts as well.
  22. A picture of "downtown" Norman Wells from the hotel entrance deck.
  23. Always great to back in Yellowknife.
  24. And touchdown in Yellowknife. A bit snowy but quite mild for us this time of year.
  25. Waiting for our plane to arrive in Norman Wells. Was looking forwad to getting back to YK before the weekend.
