  1. We still travel with them here in the Territories. A lot of the old planes are still in service by wheel, ski and float depending on the season. I spend a lot of time in the communities as part of my job. You get it or you don't, but once the north is in your blood you can't shake it.
  2. Lol, classic stuff. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
  3. ...only. I go out of my to avoid the Toronto airport if I can. Living in Kingston she might be better off going through Ottawa in the future. Most flights heading to Calgary from there have very short stops in Winnipeg - half the time you dont even have to get off the plane. I find the Ottawa airport a breeze to go through. As well - speaking from my neck of the woods, we have a direct flight from Yellowknife to and from Ottawa.
  4. I should think so, checked out a couple reviews. Doesn't take a lot of juice to crank those speakers. You may wish to check out some of the Marantz avers as well. They seem to pair with Klipsch well.
  5. Hope she makes it with no issues tomorrow. The forecast is for clear skies in TO, a few clouds in Calgary.
  6. One of my favourites, some classics getting a funky big band swing treatment along with some good originals. Very good sound quality is a bonus.
  7. Shouldn't have any problems whatsoever.
  8. Well I've the Talls in use for over a week a now and have over 100 hours on them (the recommended break in time). Perhaps a slight difference - I've always thought the break in thing was really more a matter of your own hearing getting used to a different sound rather than something mechanical. A bit more placement fine tuning and I'm now satisfied. Really enjoying the wide soundstage and the highly detailed sound. One thing I will add is that I have never heard any speaker sound this good off axis. Our dining room table is about 13 feet diagonally to the right of the listening area and during dinner last night the sound still seems very full. They seem to be ideal for filling a room with sound while you are moving around and doing things. You are not chained to a small sweet spot directly in front. These will most certainly not be going back. Keepers all day long. Next project is finding a half decent 12 outlet surge protector power bar and new DVD/blue ray unit before I completely finish up with tidying up a massive wire mess behind the av unit.
  9. Thanks Just straightened them out and pulled forward a wee bit. You were right on the money.
  10. The new boys pretty well ensconced in the living room.
  11. Thanks Mark, they really are nice. Listening to 4 cd set "75 Years of Blue Note Records" jazz set I picked up down in Ottawa a few weeks ago as I type. I'm still a fan of Klipsch products but these were a nice change in the living room. They really mesh well with my listening environment and habits. Not for everyone I'm sure but they are a great fit for us. Well worth the money. I now fully understand the term musical as applied to loudspeakers. I'd put them up against my buddies Pro Acs anytime.
  12. Oy! I'm living in the wrong part of the world.
  13. ''Tis the season. We were down to -29 last night, -27 right now as I consider heading across the street to the pub.

    Greg Lake RIP

Another great gone. 2016 has been a bad year for this, so many.
  15. Will this match be televised?
  16. None on me. Other than some bridge work I'm still stock at 54.
  17. You are truly a glass half full kind of guy! Here's hoping you are up and running asap.
  18. I agree, If you came across an RC42 or rc42II you would be pretty satisfied. I had one for a couple years and they are very clear and punch well above their weight.
  19. Did some more placement fine tuning this evening and brought out some favourite holiday CDs. Very impressed; one of my favourites, Kenny Ellis Hanukkah Swings (jazzy big band style) completely encompassed the room. Great album.. I'm hearing things in the recording I had never heard before and at one point got up to double check the centre wasn't on. The imagining and phantom centre effect is tangible.
  20. Looks pretty nice but not 24k nice. Maybe 1k nice.
