  1. Have notice that if I turn on the unit in stereo mode there is no pop. Once I switch to 5 channel while it is on, no pop.
  2. Haven't heard that in years!
  3. It is a Marantz SR5008 AVR (7.2 but configured as a 5.1). For television viewing I most often have the sound setting on Auto.
  4. I have noticed that I get a loud pop sound ( a single pop),from my center channel when I turn my system on. Any thoughts on what may be causing this? None of the other speakers do this and it doesn't happen when I shut it down. This is a pretty recent thing.

Did a real double take- Cindy Jarvis- my wife's name. What are the odds?
  6. See if you can find some of these. I have four of them for my RB 61 IIs http://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649142707-quest-em400-24-speaker-stands-for-sale/images/801117/ Quest EM400 24
  7. It looks like Feb 16 1989 at the very top of the page.
  8. Nice to see some Canadian ads!
  9. I am something of a Marantz fanboy. I enjoy mine thoroughly for TV/HT as well as 2.1 for music. Well built, look great and sound even better. Will also fit your budget.
  10. Funny enough, one of those great classic sit come that you never see anymore. Even on the retro type channels; is there some copyright thing going on? I have heard there is with WKRP which is why you can't find it either.
  11. A proper photo of the Long-john Jamboree site. It is a good time for aurora viewing as the temps are getting better as well as longer hours of daylight.
  12. Right here in Yellowknife NWT. Aurora tourism has become a very well established industry here. Pretty much any time between mid September and the end of March. I would recommend January to March as you are less likely to get cloudy conditions.

    New TV

To be honest I dont know much about 4K. It does seem that there is something of a consensus regarding LG products.

    New TV

I realize this has probably been done to death, however, every year is a new ball (hockey - I'm Canadian and like a real sport), game. What is a recommended 60-65 inch TV that is good quality and has legs for the next decade? Things have changed a lot and some of the classic brands may not be the ideal. My wife (bless her soul), is driving this. Since we moved and had new AV unitbuilt, our old 40inch Sony doesn't cut it any more. She wants a larger unit and being a good and wise husband of 28 years I am not about to let this opportunity slip through my fingers. Any and all advice shall be greatfully accepted.
  15. Very nice, that looks like some really good ice to be that clear. They cut blocks out of the bay. There is an ice sculpture compitition as well. A Japanese guy won last year. We get thousands of Asian tourists in the winter up here aurora viewing.
  16. Enjoying a cool one, the way it's meant to be done.
  17. Needless to say, the Jubilee is not a Model T. I'd love to hear a pair cheek by jowl with a pair of Palladia. Not a model T but a boutique rework. In the end the reality is that Klipsch is a business. We're it not for large selling numbers of newer product the company could not survive on the small numbers of specialty speakers it produces aimed at a very small niche market. Regardless of sound and the resale market, no company can survive on private resales no matter how popular they may be. Therefore attention needs to be paid to the reality of the current market. The KGs and others filled that role during their time. The Palladium are a true 21 century speaker that would not exist without what came before it.
  18. Great move on your part. I think within a decade things will be back to normal and I may join you. We have all sorts of maniacs up here who buy fat bikes for winter use and ride them all winter long. Saw a couple today on my walk to the store (-30!).
  19. The exchange is terrible, below .70 on Friday. Thankfully this will eventually turn around. I consider Florida to be my future homeland. Have about a decade to go before I retire. Love Florida, in fact pretty much all the American south;oddly enough I find the folk down that way to have much in common with Canadians like myself who live in the far north. I do check out CAM from time to time, don't often see too many Klisch and those there tend to be pricy. Most generally won't ship, so you almost need to be in Ontario. The used prices I see on this forum for stuff in the States just makes by mouth drop. Great deals down there.
  20. Are there many fellow Canadian forum members here? Thoughts on Klipsch availability in Canada as well as the sinking (plummeting), dollar?
  21. Although they won't eliminate sound transference through a wall, hanging a cloth tapestry can help tame a room. We have done that and I find I can get away with lower volumes once my wife goes to bed.
  22. The Doric style columns are spectacular and a great touch. Being a Mason I enjoy such things.
  23. Very good points indeed. The pair of you sound like "glass half full" guys; the best way to be. You are a good friend to him.
