Thanks guys, I followed the link and attempted to order. They won't ship to Canada. There are a lot of things I can get from Amazon.com, but for certain things you have to go through Amazon.ca. The Canadian price is 669.99 (Canadian) which is aprox 430 American these days. Our dollar is sitting around .81cents at the moment. Perhaps 375 Canadian (300 U.S.) is not a bad deal. He is asking 400, I offered 349.99 and he has countered with 375. I would post the EBay link but have no idea how to do so with this IPad.

There have been an awful lot of great classic artists being lost this year. The guy was one of a kind.

Good afternoon, I was wondering what sort of prices used RC 62IIs are going for these days. I have an RC 42 II that I use for TV and want to upgrade. I have found one on EBay. The guy seems willing to let it go for $375 Canadian. The rest of my set up is RB 62IIs (4). The guy claims it is new in the box and unused as it was too large for his entertainment unit. Although a little bit more than you'd like to spend, I would recommend the Marantz CD6005. I bought one last year and am very happy with it. It won't be going anywhere. It also gets great reviews. You may well find one used for 300ish.

I have a newr Marantz AVR as the heart of my system (sr 5008). Works great with my Reference 61IIs and as far as my ears can tell is splendid with two channel music. Anyone using this series? Thoughts on two channel sound?

Ceiling are out of the question- concrete, tower condo. Rears we have but I'm getting some grief regarding them being out in the new living room.

My wife HATES speakers visually, and she could care less about the sound. I've never understood WAF, and have never had to deal with it. My wife loves our Khorns. Big JBL C34s were at our wedding back in 1975. My former girlfriend liked big speakers, and the one before that used to sit on my Karalson, to better feel the music. They are all very artistically inclined. My parents house had a console radio just a bit smaller than a Khorn. When we got a TV, my dad built a huge console cabinet for it, with a big JBL system in it. Elegant homes had Khorns, Bozak Concert Grands, JBL Hartsfields, and JBL Paragons in them, to say nothing of the grandfather clocks, armoires, huge antiques, etc. Mary Pickford had a TV with a magnifying glass 3 feet in diameter in front of the screen, in an elegant cabinet, and Mitch Miller had speakers that were chest high. What the hell happened? Varies by wife and living space. As we are in a condo there is no basement rec room. The main living room is it.

Looks like a very complex project. If all works out I think those speakers will see you out as we say up here.

This may be the answer. My avr is a Marantz sr5008 I bought last year. To these old ears it sounds pretty nice in two channel stereo for music.

The aesthetics more than anything else. She has a tin ear and would be just as happy using the TV's speakers tell you true. The new room is a bit more open and she's not so keen on running wire and having the extra speakers so visible. I have four RB 61 IIs on nice black metal stands.

New to me but probably done to death over time... New circumstances and room coming my way later this summer. We have bought a new condo and my wife is expressing some aesthetic concerns over ther the 5.1 set up. We only have one system and use it for TV every night, movies on the weekend and 2.1 for music a lot. I'm wondering if moving to a 3.1 for movies and TV might be a good idea. Perhaps leaving the door open for a front main upgrade. Have any of you gone this route? Happy with it?

We are out here. I've liked the brand for decades and think their current lineup performs very well in general and exceptionally well with the new Klipsch. Currently using an SR5008 AVR (an incredible value that punches well above its price point), and a CD6005 CD player that is very detailed. Would recommend them to anyone. Their next tier up is even better.

Quite a few of the women's stores in the West Edmonton Mall use the white AW 650s (indoor outdoor). A small consolation for me when I take her shopping down south. They sound great.

Very true. For a lark we brought them over to my place this week. Hooked the Heresys up to my Marantz- not a fancy schmancy Marantz, an SR5008 AVR, which is the heart of my system. They did sound much better; my freind noticed it as well. Could be the Marantz vs his Yamaha or a combo of that and the room. I have carpet and some old style Europen type furniture. His model was the IIs. I did like them but don't think they sound as nice, warm or balanced as my mounted RB 61 IIs. It may be my tastes or perhaps the Heritage line sound better in a larger room. Whatever it is, I prefer the Reference bookshelf series. I've heard other speakers costing considerably more, but for Jazz (which I mainly listen to),nothing has come close. I appreciate the Heritage line and if I had more space (condo), they may be the ticket, but I am impressed with modern Klipsh and what they can deliver. Palladium is my future.
