  1. nice. regardless of industry or niche, it's good to be reminded that proper, even elite, customer service still exists. in my book, I would pay for premium service. I bet I'm not alone.
  2. @CECAA850 - I agree. it IS driven by the bowl system & the $ connected with it. and I hadn't thought about it but yes, they do seem more concerned with the revenue stream than they are the competitiveness and a real playoff system. good points.
  3. that's one of the things that pisses me off the most about college athletics - that D1 FB is - as far as I know - the ONLY division of any NCAA sport that doesn't have a full fledged playoff. look at the lower division of football, baseball, basketball, hockey - you name it. they all have a full blown playoff. EXCEPT FOR D-1 football. and IDK what the solution is, but surely it is better than the current. /rant off (I think)
  4. @RT FAN you do much better than I. we certainly had our share of kegs & keggers back in the day. could be why I didn't last very long at that level. but I have no idea how much they cost back then. we enjoyed running over the state line to the just-off-base stores outside Ft Benning - Columbus GA & pick up a load o stuff including the Foster's "oil can", +/- 25 fl oz. seems like they were a couple bucks each.
  5. somewhat related. and I wish I remembered more about the incident, but goes something like this. my youngest is now 16 & plays video games as much as any his age I guess. so he sees one of these somewhere, and during our conversation, says "I know what that is." me: "oh yeah? whatizit?" him: "you don't know what that is?!? that's a stripper pole." I'm sure I lost it. and sprayed coffee, tea, whatever all over everyone. and immediately corrected him about the pole, asking where he got that idea. it seems something like Grand Theft Auto. and yes, it was sort of funny at the time, and a bit more now.
  6. @stealthcheetah - ditto: welcome to the forum, nice score there. looks better than my Heresys. (lament: I paid much more than you, and mine are just a plain ol' matte black. 😯. ) I'm a bit envious. maybe I need to take up dumpster diving... one of these days.
  7. from the post on CL. no connection to me. and not much for pics https://neworleans.craigslist.org/msg/6712759589.html "Set of Klipsch Speakers purchased in 80's. Unfunished Smooth Birch ready for Stain, Rubbing Oil or Paint. The World 's Finest Sound. Local, Cash and Carry Only"
  8. ad is still up, so maybe still available. idk...
  9. did he bail from the boat & tried to pilot the truck into uncharted territory?
  10. @Tarheel - same here. I just don't know what to say except thinking of you, and wishing could do something for you sir. I haven't been there so I can't say I know what it's like, not gonna pretend to know. in our thoughts & prayers, and wishing you better days beginning today
  11. yep. love me some animal rescue. and since we have 3 dogs, well - goes without saying. hate it for all you property owners up there. life probably won't be the same for a while up there. but obviously glad you guys on here seem to have fared ok, all things considered
  12. yes, former student. not exactly alumni material. what I remember, I'll never forget. and yes, I guess it is entertaining. for me personally - frustrating, I expect & think our team is capable of better, holding higher expectations, all that. but for a fan of the sport, I would think mostly, yes, entertaining. yessir - that would be us.
  13. no, they would not meet until earliest in SEC title game in Hotlanta. and that is provided each win their division & the right to play for league title. my Auburn team won the SEC West last year, and then proceeded to stink things up royally after that. now yes, uGa did come out very strong & played very well. don't mean to take anything away from them. but my guys did really stink it up, IMO.
  14. my dogs really dig it when we watch movies. no. /sarcasm off - they don't. they go to looking behind us to see what's coming to get them. I think it's funny until the barking gets out of hand. I wonder what mine will do whenever I get "approval" (wink) & add 1 or more subs to the mix. my little wiener dogs may be feelin' the spl - hehe
  15. @Shiva - I hear ya. same boat here. nice looking place still. I need that C-7 tho.
  16. ah, your vacation home. very nice 🙂
  17. backdrop/view out the windows, all that Mac gear and the Khorns... very nice. your room @Shiva?
  18. cool. I couldn't take much of that before my eyes starting glazing over. but still - pretty cool that a natural remedy will do what MD's, & big pharm research couldn't do. that last part is pretty freaking awesome. to me, anyway. good stuff. thx TWK
  19. wow. whatdoyaknow?!? I've heard that MRSA is some REALLY bad stttt. and something as common as Manuka Honey saved his life! wow. pretty cool
  20. wow. having never lived on or really close to water bodies of any size, I never would have considered what happened to the historian. yuck. from something as simple as a minor scratch, complicated by apparent infection from the runoff. don't blame you for not getting in the water. don't think I would either. I might even avoid drinking it, stick to beer, spirits with sealed bottle mixers. would think in lack of a boil water notice that tap water & ice would be ok.
  21. yep, you're right. oh, I need me some o that. nah, I'll pass. keep my coin, and my Impala daily driver and save for more antique style furniture, a center channel & some subs.
  22. for the most part, yes. there were still a few around. remember our late hero's car BAN ONE was a '77 T/A. they had 400 in engines up until... 79, 80, maybe a little longer. they were "smog motors" but they were large displacement that could be "improved upon". but these were the exception rather than the rule.
  23. sure, sure. I hear you, and have no discussion on any of those. I've drooled over them all for all my life. maybe my most favorite car that I did own was my '70 2 dr Cutlass Supreme, 350, 4bbl, console auto. looked like this one except I had the plain Jane hood. (this style probably for the 442 & the SX in the pic. but as I was born in '60, by the time I was driving in '76, there weren't too many form the era of which we love so much left when I was able to afford them. oh well. I still hold out hope. maybe, one of these days...
