  7. Another destroy some Heritage project - but - for the sake of some Belles. Hmmm, although I'd be happy for the Belle clone build, I would be saddened by the Cornwalls' demise…...
  8. WOW-sers, that is stupid FAST & will be a great feed for an OLED set.
  9. +1, but we're talking about supplementing some KG5.5's on the low end which are already rated for 34hz-20Khz. quank - did you ever look into these that I had suggested through PM? Velodyne FSR-12 - very fair price @ $100 and I wouldn't hesitate on this especially for HT and a "right now" void fill. http://nh.craigslist.org/ele/5303343742.html Velodyne F-1500 (Montreal) - Listed @ $500 - location probably an issue for acquisition http://montreal.craigslist.ca/ele/5330478284.html SVS PB-12nsd - $600 will kill your budget, but these have a good following http://newjersey.craigslist.org/ele/5297646261.html
  10. Agreed, 5's for $150 would've been a steal. 3's, 5's - only 25 watts & 5hz difference but each model has their own distinct sound. IMHO: 82's & 5's are pretty darn close, so 82's could be used to gauge 5's value "if" you are considering those 5's that are local to you. Keep in mind that 5's have spotty availability, whereas 82's show up quite frequently.

  12. I'm glad to see this is still a work in process. Thanks, Chad, for the feedback.
  13. Great ideas, I will soon be fighting with a similar space issue with furniture & gear placement.
  14. WTF indeed ! Website navigation isn't too bad once familiar with the menu selection process. Seeing the original specification sheets is a nice touch in comparison to the old condensed version. BUT - to completely drop the heritage line specs is a real loss. Another example - Why would you spec the RSW-12 and not the 15? + 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,0000,000,000,000,000,000…………….. that they are soon again included.
  15. I didn't see the entire transaction from start to finish, but if I am reading the other posts correctly, you got $2500 worth of Klipsch Belles for 800 bucks. You did good, Stinky. WVU80 - NO NO NO My deal was done back in January as evidenced by Budman's original Alert post date. I simply fessed up to it by resurrecting the thread. I wouldn't say they were worth $2500, nor would I have put that much out for a set. The final push to get them was made by a "help you spend some money" forum member known for being 1st to the exceptional finds. As far as the other thread, I was giving a range of pricing for the beloved Belles to the Cedar Rapids value inquiry: There is no such thing as "normal". Belles have sold for $200 - $4,000 per pair. Pick a number you're comfortable with and search - hard - every day - and you will find what you're looking for. $1500 for pristine condition Belles isn't out of the question. - Mark?! You may even wish to consider Lascalas which tend to come up more often, have a smaller footprint, & run $6-1200, condition dependent. My Belle's are staying put for a very long time.
  16. Update - I was the stinky one - and it was very cool of the seller to drive them 2 hours south to complete the transaction with me. Looking back, sometimes it just all works out even if not as good of a deal as others I've since seen.
  17. Excellent perceptions properly conveyed, I couldn't agree more. Having no regrets is a good position to be in

  19. I was going to say either 3's or 5's. Somebody - jump on them !

    Snow

this thread is bringing back memories. ….of the hot, snooty, blondes in Grand Haven hanging out at the Tip a Few, or the Kirby Grill?
  21. Still a fair deal…….

Diz - You are the 1st to nail my location. Muskegon Yacht Club was blocks away from home, and I probably know some of those Spring Lake scow sailors you no doubt ran with. Ice boating is a recent endeavor that has no real comparison - wind driven at 50-60 mph with no brakes! Maybe a flat track motorcycle with studs but that is not quite the same. A nice sheet of frozen lake ice can be completely ruined by the smallest of snowfalls which explains the popularity in the Wisconsin locales - cold temps and little snow on the windward side of Lake Michigan & a HUGE lake (Winnebago) and so many others in close proximity to race on. My avatar pic is my Arrow boat & a friend's 24 foot Skeeter watching a tug break ice on Muskegon Lake. His boat has seen GPS speed of 85mph, and it is a 2 seat "boat" originally built by the Chris Craft corporation back in the 50's by the sons of the owners. As for the pizza, Mr Scribs in Muskegon still puts out a great pie if you like greasy thin crust with "all" the toppings. Some Place Else would be for those who prefer a traditional crust.
  23. Looks like OP has what you're looking for. but…...if you want them, you'll need to make the arrangements to GET them. Meeting 1/2 way, now for the original list price, seems like a fair deal. Sought after items, rarely, just land in your lap. . .
