Am I missing something? Half of North America is out of work, nothing to do. How are hundreds of factories not already retooled and knocking out masks by the boatload? This is what I am wondering! There is more than meets the eye here. A neighbour suggested maybe it was to avert the need for emergency services in the event of a mishap. I wonder what else is being undertaken though. The tracking of international crime syndicates? How much easier would it be to track a shipment of narcotics amongst all this?

Far from it... I grew up where you said hello to everyone you made eye contact with and the elderly and ladies went first. Respect is a two way street. You don’t need to kiss anybody’s boots, but there’s no need to spit in their face either. People in a hurry are another form of social contagion. These are the same people that will be leaving toilet paper in their will.

“Social distancing” is what I have always referred to as personal space. I learned to respect it early in life. At almost six and a half feet tall I have always tried to leave a healthy margin of space around me. For the safety of others, not me... There is a very fine line between a personal foul and a dumbass creepin’ close enough to catch an elbow if I turn around sharply. No need for ANYBODY to be within an arms length of anyone else. Lots of people WERE in a big hurry to be next in line. Almost as if failure to have a plan could somehow be rectified by spastic behaviour.

The beach thing is ok, You just need to “draw a line in the sand” Now if we could all get bumper stickers stating “please ensure your car practices social distancing”
