  1. A lot of the tree is already done. You're really just putting yourself in there and a few dead ancestors so it can be sure of who you are. Once you do that, the tree will likely explode. In the span of a few minutes, I knew that it was correct as far back as I knew (and way way more than I told it), and I knew back hundreds of years. In some paths, I now know back maybe 1000 years. I know that seems incredible, and maybe a bit useless. For me, just knowing a couple more generations back was good. I found my great-grandmother's family in Germany, and I know my father worked on that his entire life and never knew those details. For free, that's pretty cool. Yep, in case anyone doesn't realize it, this is all free.
  2. Where I stand on that is that the royalty is pretty well documented. My own family is well documented back 4-5 generations. It is that part in between that isn't certain at all.
  3. Oh yeah, I know what you mean now. You're running out of RAM in your browser.
  4. Huh? You can zoom in and out.
  5. I'd say that most people, of European descent anyway, will eventually find royalty in their line.
  6. That’s a good site. I put in a few dead grandparents and it suddenly went way way back. I knew several generations back and they had it all as I knew it, which gives me confidence about the rest of it.
  7. I had that whole setup inside and though a friend of mine thought it sounded great, I thought it sounded awful. WAY too harsh. I suggested that we roll everything outside, we did, and wow did that make a HUGE difference. Very few if any reflections outside.
  8. Yep. THTLP with mine. Check out my listening party post in the Lounge section.
  9. I've told it before but here goes... When I was about 20 (a long time ago) a friend's dad died and left him about $100K. He blew through the money, but one of the things he bought was a set of Klipschorns and a decent amplifier to run it all. He invited me over and I realized that for the entirety of my life, I'd been lied to about speakers. They just plain out blew EVERYTHING away that I had ever heard. I never forgot that. The next summer, he had a party at a local park. My wife (then co-worker) and I were invited. There were these strange box speakers there that had V fronts. No labels. I thought they sounded GREAT. I didn't know what they were, but never forgot them. 30 years later, I found my own set of Klipschorns and bought them. The magic was now mine. They sounded every bit as good as I heard them that first day long ago. Then I figured out that the mysterious V speakers I saw at the party were La Scala's. Boom. Had to have some. I found destroyed cabinets and built my splits. I never wanted anyone to be puzzled as to the manufacturer of the speakers like I was, so I put GIANT text on the sides. Hopefully it will drive some sales to Klipsch. Looks like it may do just that, based on a party I recently had. One young man was so blown away by the clarity, he said he couldn't see buying anything else and being underwhelmed. Yes!
  10. You might not be able to keep up with the drinking, you mean. The LS you might bring would be welcomed and will indeed be awesome.
  11. Here's a crowd photo. The crowd got larger after this. I'm collecting quotes from people that were there. My favorite is from a sound production guy. He pulled up a chair front and center. He listened a while without expression, then he stared at the left channel a while, then the right. Another song started and he got up and walked toward me.... "F-ing Phenomenal. I wouldn't tweak anything. The sibilance is astounding, the bass is tight. It is fantastic." I kept saying, "Really? Really?" His jaw dropped again when he saw the little palm-sized amp that was driving it all. "105dB @ 1w/ 1m", I said. He couldn't believe it.
  12. @MookieStl you gotta drive out the next time we do this and help us drink beer.
  13. Ok I found some photos. It might only let me post one, so here's the setup.
  14. Yeah I've been drinking so this might be a bit disjointed but here goes... So a week or so ago I took my La Scala splits (w/dave's MAHL lenses) and THTLP sub over to this local Episcopal church community center parking lot and set them up. The priest is a friend and authorized it. Even authorized beers. I got about 20 people to show up and we rocked out from 8pm to past 11pm at high volume (with super low distortion 😀). I invited the local police chief but he didn't show up. We had no trouble with police, maybe that's why. It was so jaw-droppingly good. Many people there said they'd never heard anything like it before. I played a mix of Rock, Blues, and Jazz. Looks like this is going to become a regular thing. The word is getting out there and people are asking about it. The coolest thing was a college student that said he was going to buy a small system for his bedroom, but after hearing this system he felt he could not be satisfied. YES! A horn-loaded convert was born! That's my story. I will post photos next time. code
  15. change out the crossover to AA or A, keep them, and listen to them. that's my advice. i've been drinking, though, so you might consider that too.
  16. I thought that too. Who mentions non-consecutive SN, Kappa 15C's, and re-capped crossovers? Not your typical CL person.
  17. I saw those. They're beautiful, but $2375 is way too much money.
