  1. Hi @Thaddeus Smith I was a painter in my last life. The amount of sanding that you would have to do after stripping I'd consider prohibitive towards something like a sanding sealer or varnish finish. Plus the dust all over the circuitry. Test with denatured alcohol or "Goof Off" , if black comes off on the rag it's latex based. I always check to be sure, don't know what regulations could have forced Klipsch to do. If you've got some actual Lacquer, heck yea it was beautiful on all the old cars and it would be on your LaScalas. Scuff it up evenly and if you've got an airless use it.
  2. Congrats. They took the grain and made a V across the top like in the pair Cory posted a couple days ago. Your stereo cabinet is a gorgeous piece of furniture also.
  3. Sounds like you've got some of PWK's spirit in you! "Let Freedom Ring"
  4. Good. Let us know when you get set up @Scrappydue , I'll do the same. You know I'm curious about the wood grain on our little investments.
  5. Stevie Ray BEGS to be cranked up. Saw his brother and the Fabulous T-Birds at a bar here called the Palomino Club years ago, they were a very tight band also! Kick-a$$ show! Thanks again for your time, saw somewhere else that was a discussion of some not loving the titanium drivers and it took a change in the crossover to fix that handover issue. Never heard (read) that about @Chief bonehead 's KI396 or Forte III with their midrange. Meant to tell you that dark B&W pic of the corner of your listening room is great!
  6. AY YA YAAAA! @MetropolisLakeOutfittersIf you think they sound good enough or compatible enough to reside next to those freakin Jubilees I'll have a smile next week that will stay on my face even when I'm asleep. Heard enough of them for a brief description of the sound and quality of it?
  7. I agree with you sir, but that price was lower than I feel like they're worth also. More I looked at those numbers with those spots the more combinations I've come up with! Ended up thinking that they are 19751 & 19752!
  8. Cool. Figuring things out now, H IIs going with the tv and wall speakers on the old receiver for now.
  9. Nice low sheen on those, even on the face of them. Do you have ALL of the Heritage line and up @MetropolisLakeOutfitters?
  10. You betcha I did. Were those ours on the dock? I know they can't all look like the photos of the Cornwall, Heresy & Forte IIIs at Klipsch . com. So after looking when I searched for CA Blk Wlnt with all the letters of course I found a wide variety of looks in planks and veneer available out west.
  11. Sorry folks. It's been less than a week, I know. Zero interest maybe because of the cosmetic spotting of the sn stickers & horns. I'd have a better chance putting them in the neighborhood flyer, they ALL know how these sound when I've done yard work jammin' out forever. I'll just keep them for the tv setup with my Polk 90db/w sensitivity 42hz -25khz think they will sonically be a good match.
  12. @MetropolisLakeOutfitters I'd like to be able to get my hands on some of those silver luster grills. Depending on if mine come with the burl or the streaked look at the graft of the English & California Walnut like the first photos it could look great like those rosewood Heresys. Let us know here if those kind of extras ever become available.
  13. Nice.. You can see like they stated at their site that the hybrid California Black Walnut grain varies a lot. Means we'll have a surprise when we open them up. I searched that before ordering and besides what's been shown at CES and here with Cory's the look of this "Claro Walnut" can vary wildly.
  14. Search for that Panasonic Cyclonic Inverter folks. It's a change in the way the waves are put into the cavity. It swirls them around on the inside and heats more evenly. Swear it is the best thing since I saw that Amana Radar Range at grandma & grandpas house in c.1975.
  15. @Rxonmymind the video even sounds pretty good coming through on my pc! You seriously lucked out, and that Sunfire equipment would look primo just sitting there.
  16. I took my ten speed to the K-mart and bought "Frampton Comes Alive" for my first lp. Kinda like other first times they stick with ya. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY !
  17. D*mn that's just not right. Our experience the past twenty years with kitchen aid has led to them and whirlpool being banished from the premises @Coytee. It's not 1975 anymore. The KEBC171 suicide oven that was $800 about twelve years ago, self-clean function melts the motherboard components . Replaced once then class-action success. Whirlpool gas stove eight years ago... the grate you put the pots on. You won't believe this. It bowed and bent and sank...the darn cooking grate couldn't handle the heat. Made to go over flames it failed under hot temperature. Replaced once and we still deal with it. The labeling for the dails came off with 409 and a paper towel until now...low med high were completely gone after four years. They said clean it with soft cloth and mild detergent. Really?... do they cook more than h20 on their stoves? It's good we're used to it, but have to tell other family how to do it! Their attitude toward me was that I was using it wrong therefore they would not help up and became mean-spirited with our persistence for a remedy under warranty. Lifelong customer lost. Panasonic Cyclonic Inverter waves do good. Their open / close buttons are cheap though. The percentage of cooking power you set it for is how it cooks for the entire time you set, no bursts to equate to 80% power for four min it literally cooks at 80% of the 1250w for the entire time. When I'm too lazy to do nachos in the oven (sacrilege, I know) this wave melts the cheddar evenly over a 13" plate no puddles, no not melted spots. It can melt a stick of butter without scorching it. I love my microwave!
  18. What started my thinking about new main speakers was the bass was the little discontinued speakers I bought last fall to improve my led tv sound. Polk TSx220B for about $160 literally had lower bass than my Heresys. They can not produce the sound "stage" or pressure like my old speakers though. The talk of how nice the Tractrix Horn on the titanium drivers in the Forte IIIs earlier this spring is going to be an experience for me soon. Cleaned up my "Leftoverture" lp today thinking how their harmonies might come alive. My "Low Budget" lp got eaten with a dozen others by by my rott-n-pit pup angry at me one day two decades ago. Found a great sounding import cd of that a couple weeks ago. I know what the killer bass on that recording makes my Heresys sound like. "Presence" "Rocks" "Telegraph Road" "461 Ocean Blvd" "Magazine" Everything will sound different, I'm sure. I'll probably be time travelling by next weekend.
  19. Interesting choice of portraits for your theater @Trentster5172... John & Clint. Their movies, that system... if the neighbors aren't there they'll be looking around the corners of their homes to find where the shots came from.
  20. If they do sound lower than that, the "new way" of measuring might rile up some folks again...
  21. @MetropolisLakeOutfitters HOT DAMN!! Look at the little mumps sketch. Thanks for the update Cory! OD as in Old Dominion? They had good people and service when I ran a warehouse after work at night at the Orlando airport.
  22. Yes. Both the things I put up here I was initially thinking how they sounded and their worth to me... that's just not reasonable from someone else's perspective. It is in very good shape. Got a good box and packing material lined up!
  23. Those are some "purdy" speakers. The stereo cabinet I made years ago is red oak and the grain looks very much like your pics. GLWYS
