  1. Got this in the mid 1990's. It's in very good shape cosmetically and better than that at sound reproduction. The output is variable and does not introduce distortion. The tray was never absolutely silent but is is still as quiet and smooth as it ever was. The PlayExchange button, press it the tray comes out while the cd playing still plays, you can change all the others if you want. Has a remote that you can scramble the play order on one or however many cds are in it.

I'll include a 26" AudioQuest Evergreen rca, they are way better than any stock cables thought about being.

    $100 and it's worth it.

Cash or Cashiers Check Local  or  I can pack and ship this UPS or Fedex via paypal on your dime.

  2. Rick Wakeman's Six Wives of Henry VIII Quad LP was what my neighbor had in the late 70s right before "Some Girls" came out. I had a Panasonic out of one box with the record player 8-track, fm radio and two speakers. His was a quadrophonic with four speakers don't recall the brand but that instrumental you could hear the keyboards circling the room. Like a BOC concert when they do the "Godzilla" footsteps out travelling around in the mezzanine of the coliseum.

  3. I called Klipsch hq in Indy a little while ago. My homepage still showed "Shipping late June"

Anybody ever spoke to Shirley before? She's a special lady, 1 minute with her and I know we'd be good friends if we lived in the same neighborhood. A customer rep told me the special editions did start shipping this Wednesday.

    Won't be long now folks!

  4. @dtel  Vague?   Nice... and it IS the latest June can get today!

I think this is you strongest opinion for the Forte III yet. You've again made the comparison to the venerable KI-396, and shared that @Chief bonehead smiled when you talked about it. Also differentiated that your opinion is yours alone and others might not feel as strongly (or the same) about it. Of course the financial aspect comes into play even before there's a comma involved with me. You're an astute diplomatic rasta-ganja-monkey aren't you!

  5. Made the decision to part with my Heresy pair. I bought them new, raw birch, alkyd Minwax stain and an alkyd Satin polyurethane two coats finish. After waiting weeks for them to come in they were sold to me as a non-sequential pair. I assure you they still sound GOOD. Pyle PSi15 dampening bases that I picked up last year and 3/16" glass tops that have been on them since 1992 will be yours also. Three components have driven them a Yamaha RX1100 125w/ch, a Nakamichi SR3A and now a Cambridge CXA80.

$500 Local. I do not have the boxes & styrofoam anymore, so packing/ shipping would be your deal to cover.

In the pics of the s/n stickers and the drivers themselves there are spots that I think are from moisture because I lived in Central FL from `92 until `03. I haven't tried to clean them at all.

**6/30 OK some views and no bites. I'm really not sure if they're an out of sequence pair or not, that's why I mentioned it up front.

I am positive that 1x750 and 1x751 when the x is definitely a 9 in first pic and not definitively a 9 in the second. The spotting on that thin sticker messes up what I can see on the 1x750 speaker.

I never looked at the serial numbers until when I tried to get some help here finding out when they were made. Records for those few years were lost on a computer somehow I was told.

    7-10-17 * *  They're # 13751 & 13752 according to the metal emblem the dealer put on them.

  6. @edzu1234  Don't know if an employee monitors here and responds except the historical look-up section. I'm a fan of this company's products, so I am biased just a little.

Yea they're not inexpensive, but they're not cheapo quality either. Look at the Cornwalls $4400/pair, spec edition $6000/pair. That's almost a 50% markup, Forte IIIs regular to special $3800 to $4600 that's not a very drastic markup.

If your comparing cost to something made in Asia by a huge conglomerate (in God-Knows what circumstances) it's not overpriced.

I looked into the bigger folded horn speakers and there are some beauties available right now. After seeing the size and knowing I'll have to consolidate my "loot" in a few years I opted for a smaller sized improvement. Have you owned some Klipsch Heritage speakers for decades like so many of us here have? I got my Heresy IIs in `91 for $700 plus 4% tax. I might think they're worth twice that much today, but they aren't. Search my screen name and you'll find a couple pics I took of my Klipsch. Talk to me, they could be yours for way less that F3s! Inflation does suck, so does 9.75% sales tax we have here now.

Crafted by hand in Hope, AR won't come cheap, but in a few years you might think they're worth more than what you paid for `em.

Well I'll be. That's doable. So now my contemplation will be, do I sell off all my parts for the Belle clones and buy Forte 3's and take the chance they work in my house  (and sound better than the CF-3's) or continue on with the Belles and save my money. I just love decisions. Lol. I know they are both two different animals.

That situation is prevalent around these parts right now.

Have my workhorse 90s era 100w / six channels worn out receiver I don't want to let go of paired with new little speakers that hide behind the plants in the den for the tv.

Got my Heresy IIs that would make the tv sound great but can't go on the walls behind the plants three feet high.

New FIIIs will go with the new amp setup, biwired to get 60w to each woofer and each HF hookup on them.

I know when my deadline will be.

Yours is up in the air, good luck!

For over 17 years nothing has grabbed, as the Fortes did. Wish all my investment had been as beneficial.

Excellent, and it also explains my fanaticism towards this brand.

    Value.

Nikko Alpha amps from the mid-70s to the early-80s pair amazingly well with many speakers including Klipsches. With hundreds of watts, the attenuator rarely gets past 9 o'clock with Klipsch.

Nicely designed components. Used to love the rec out selector on my rx1100. Rec cal on the tuner, interesting. Is that calibrate somehow?

Haven't seen Cambridge or formerly Cambridge Audio mentioned here much and I didn't like the specs on their affordable range of receivers. Liked the specs on the CX stuff alright and got one after many hours searching and analytical thoughts. Picked it up almost a year ago and never thought about doing a return in that first couple of weeks. Sounds like a combination of the almost "cold clinical" Yamaha Natural Sound but closer to the "warmth" of that Nakamichi I mentioned earlier.

Cambridge should be considered with these sensitive Klipsch speakers.

  10. @dtel Yea, you shaped a few decisions here about the Forte IIIs. You and the Mrs stay safe today, or did it clear y'all already?

@DizRotus so that was Farley dancing like a dork up above? Hadn't watched any sitcoms probably since Soap.

Cary, damn he didn't age too well.

    Woooohooooo..I got my order in! 2 x CBW F3's!!!!!

Apex you nailed it. That's the way I've been feeling and the folks on the sofa are probably like the others here with me posting in this and the other thread about the Forte IIIs. Drew is like me, a rocker that can't stop dancing at a Dio concert.
