The GTI I had was nicknamed the tire shredder and has every bolt on possible, swapped turbo and tuned for high boost on crappy 91 octane available here. Damn was that a fun car.

With you on that one. I have a tuned turbo car currently that is choking on itself past upper 4k RPM. It NEEDS a bigger less restrictive downpipe.

They are just slightly nicer Cornwalls that are a little bigger and heavier, a tiny bit nicer veneer and very slightly better drivers, but I get your point.

Tears, to the eyes and worth the money you say.... There was another vendor at "the show": Ocean Labs mastering speakers that were VERY impressive. Only the horn speakers stood out to me in a most impressive way (surprise).

Well good luck man. I had an original set of RF82 speakers myself and thought they were a great value at the time.

Take a receiver with you, your phone and a 99 cent store headphone to dual RCA cable. Test them for yourself. Never take anyone's word for it. I have been screwed like that before.

Call the guy and talk to him and see what Kind of vibe you get. Ask him to test them and make sure the tweeters play evenly in volume and work perfectly. If he or she is not willing to do so or gives the impression that questions or testing is a hassle, pass.

Use Balance control and rotate left and right. Make sure that both tweeters have the same output level. If one is softer than the other, it is damaged. If you smell any metallic burning smell from Port or tweeters regardless of if they are working, I would pass. Woofers I highly doubt would have anything wrong with them.

I'm gonna try to pick up a set myself to join on this one.

Save money and do what makes sense to you. Warranty isn't transferable anyhow if I'm not mistaken.
