  1. Is rain in the forecast - that is, any fronts moving through and crossing your itinerary - hint = tarp
  2. router the back out, behind the phonograph slot ( to slide it in from the back ) unseen from the front, and make something like a shoebox lid, out of thinner matching wood to cover, perhaps a wiring channel across the whole backside - or just ask your better half if she doesn't mind this cool old vintage turntable sitting on top of the console ???
  3. the word "wastewater" used in a coffee topic, even using a piping system, sans backflow valve's, yet under thee sink, seems useless... shouldn't you have a settling pond somewhere… along with a certain amount of hydrogen peroxide flow, smoke stack, vents, some gauges, hourly ph testing, and a three guys in a control monitoring the situation ?
  4. the link Chad posted on page one of this topic has $7499 (each)
  5. The pool noodles would wiggle somewhat, when the a/c kicked on.... that throws acoustic hvac vents into the sound equation... Anything up in the ceiling eventually get dusty too
  6. Hello, Thank you for an interesting topic to ponder upon, The first experience I had with an audible discovery, was standing under the middle of the Texas State Capital buildings' huge rotunda.... on the floor tiles marking the center.... In respect to sound, this pdf article link was offered as free, with a page link near the bottom to other products, room size, reflections, acoustic treatments and so on... https://www.soundcontrolroom.com/News_Saturn_Polycylindrical_Diffusor.pdf
  7. No, to hanging absorbing material from the ceiling, but have considered it, since I have a 16' vaulted den, The only time I did put object's in the ceiling, was in 1975, and I found a case of lightbulbs in the garage, (the figure of 100 come's to mind) and meticulously punched them into the acoustic panels in our cabana, unwired, but quite spongy and accepting... I had a 15" 1960 University back then, in a homemade cabinet.... never figured out why I did that....
  8. No Rush, but I'm an seriously considering turning the build of a new shop bench, into a console.... I sold my 2x4 bench last week, and have a few designs for a wall cabinet with drawers inside, mounted on oak leg's, with a 2" curly maple top... which could house a 12 1/2" deep Marantz 2010, but I feel the pain you have with trimming the motor board for a larger diameter RF-3 set-up, which further correlated into a discussion with a bartender over here in Texas. So, have you considered... wait, no, I mean Have you seen, no wait another second, I don't want to mention another speaker maker, but have you thought about making a unique speaker, unlike anything, out of brass, so you look at the next step, and consider a used "sousaphone" tuba, extending from each side.... (remember the RCA puppy listening to the first record player).... there's a few more details to be worked out which could be promising....
  9. I'm thinking The Klipsch company chose 2 speakers for the 3 way crossover design, and I'm not sure of the correct way to theorize this effectively, hence the drawing reflects a single modest 12" woofer installation...
  10. Crunchy with Grape jelly on regular white bread, with potato chips in there
  11. this is a 20 second sketch using the dang mouse, sorry it comes out looking like a four year old with a crayon, but I just wanted to mention you have all this room below the base of the console, to add part of a speaker enclosure, and make it into a console leg, albeit a hair wider lol
  12. whats happening in Hawaii, the news I saw a couple of hours ago, showed waterfalls of rain, I wonder if the lava flows made tunnels
  13. In all due respect, especially since you were the one to start this topic in 2014, I have coffee on my list for "gettin" tomorrow.... I'm gonna try the Mayorga beans.... Thank you for writing the post above, and swaying me from typing six lines of ( coffee <---> beer ) ( coffee <---> crown royal ) ( coffee <---> dinner ) ahhhh ( coffee <---> 4 gauge Romex speaker wire ) lol
  14. ? remember the articles last year about the Western Electric 300B tube from their new production facility.... When I clicked the link, it still says... ---> http://www.westernelectric.com/products/300b.html

    Weight

LaScala II spec weight = 175.5 lbs Estimation for bottom / top before packaging 100 / 75 Estimation weight for the top with packaging and shipping including anticipated survival factors such as a wood crate, foam board, bubble wrap, etc = 125 lbs
  16. The Beautiful Front Wood Console Panels could be hinged, or Velcro attached to, ahhhh…. hold them while you pour one up, and figure out something, yeah, that's it...
  17. Lot's of white space in that picture, purposely to add thought, being secondary in nature to time....
  18. Just checking in to see if you've retrieved a chisel yet ? It does stuff like in the picture below...
  19. … in my pantry, is a French press, a burr grinder, and an electric hot water pot, of which saw the light of the morning shinning under the kitchen cabinet counter light for a week, and then... decided to keep it store it away, for another day.... Yes, I remember it was good, but mostly remember nothing about convenience...
  20. On my 2nd cup of Folgers 1850... a while back, I showed a picture of my rusted Mr Coffee Pot heater plate, I ended up taking it out of service and buying the most primitive $17 pot in a box, and I revel in my new habit, of never letting water sizzle (for that extra brewing effect) on this new heater plate....
  21. Man I haven't heard that one in a long time, Thanks.... would you mine if one, being me lol, try a link, basically an experiment, to further nominate a song for the day....
