  1. Haha ... saw that Keeping my fingers crossed
  2. Yeah ... ripped out the antique TT. Should it would be easy to put in another one .. NAH Have only 350mm of depth ... most TT's are deeper Closest one I have found is a (decent but not great) Audio Technica SL120. 352mm deep ... but think I can take the "cover hinge brackets" off the back. Anyone has one of these and is willing to measure the depth off the plinth? Don't want to buy one and then have to return it Cheers, Emile
  3. @Nositri ... all packages delivered Have fun with it. Cheers, Emile
  4. No clue , but wanted to put in my 2 cents If you like horns, +4dB IMHO is "nothing." Have a pair of (cinema) KPT-904's ... horns are +6dB too loud (since they are not behind a cinema screen); but I love them this "loud." Cheers, Emile

    What I Got Today!

"Had" a tubed Telefunken Concerto 5296 Wk in it. Not working and did not feel like spending $400 to "repair" it. So; ripped it out Which BTW was a major pain ... they really build these consoles very well "back in the days." Looks like they build it "around" the receiver Cheers, Emile

    What I Got Today!

Haha ... picked up this Telefunken "mid century" stereo console. Going to put a vintage amp in it (Yamaha CR-2020 or CR-620 or Marantz or ??? Don't have any spares, but found some decent ones on CL.) And bought RF-3 speakers from @falcon20x for it. Jeez ... bigger job than anticipated ... Oh well, too late now
  7. Hi Carl, Yeah ... TT is out (and gone). Put the amp on CraigsList (haha, for $10 instead of "free" - keeps the freeloaders away). Someone is picking it up tomorrow morning. Have fun with the Pro speakers you picked up. Regards, Emile
  8. @windashine ... have a couple of these ... last resort if I get frustrated
  9. Yeah ... getting close already Seemed like such a good idea ... Jeez ... looks like they build these old consoles "around" the amp ... another day and if not successful it's going to get chopped up
  10. Well ... forget that one Could not get it out of the cabinet so used brute force
  11. Jeez ... and FedEX supposedly is "better" than UPS
  12. Decided on FedEx as they usually are a bit more careful than UPS
  13. Haha ... if you are on "salt water" like me in Florida, NOTHING "lasts." Even "outdoor" speakers ... max 3 years
  14. Cornwall II's for $850? BIG bargain ...get them! The CW's have better bass ... if you (haha; prob the wife) can live with the bigger cabinets it's a "no-brainer." And you can sell the Chorus for $700-$850 or the CW's for a $1000+ if you change your mind Cheers, Emile
  15. Forgot ... also has a Telefunken 504 turntable if anyone is interested No clue if it works
  16. Those look pretty good! Got several plastic repros off FleaBay (haha) from Russia/Ukraine/China ... they did the job if you stay a couple of feet away
  17. TIP for restoration. This cabinet had many (small) white blotches on it. Tried the internet solutions ... toothpaste, vinegar, etc .. nothing worked. Also had some glue residue (assume from "sale stickers") . Used Goo-be-Gone ... awesome ... cleared up all the white spots Have to make it look decent before the wife comes home from a business trip ... if it looks "bad" she'll have me take it to the "dump." OK; 2nd glass of wine Cheers, Emile Add-on ... 3 hours later; spots are back but do look better ... trying again Add-on #2 ... looks good for a couple of hours ... then lousy again ... OK; NOT a good tip
  18. OK; continuing on this project ... yes, I'm crazy ... just like all of you Klipsch "nuts." Going to replace the tube amp with a vintage SS amp. Have a spare Kenwood KR-4070, or can get a Yamaha CR-1040 (without a case) for cheap ($90) locally. Any thoughts? Think (Haha) I can take out the old tube amp and use a piece of wood (no clue what type of wood) to put this Yamaha in. Also got a set of RF-3 speakers from @falcon20x (thank you SIR for shipping these). Have only 7 inches for these 8 inch woofers, so will have to "angle" these somehow. Fun problems Going to start the wine now Cheers, Emile
  19. Speakers ... pic below ... have not hooked them up to see if they are "working," but do not see any "obvious" rips. Only showing "one" set. Cheers, Emile
  20. @Marvel... If you are really, really serious, let me know. Amp is a Telefunken Concerto Hi-Fi 5296 Wk. FYI ... just shipped my VTA ST70 tube amp to @Nositri and it took me a day to pack it properly. This amp is even worse to pack. Haha ... going to cost you at least a $50 bottle of wine But these seem to go for $150-200 on FleaBay Faceplate seems 100% ... no clue about the rest of the amp or the tubes ... noticed some fuses were removed (2nd pic, top right). Rough estimate for shipping is $50+ bucks as you are in GA; not too far from FL More (re speakers) on next entry. Cheers, Emile add-on ... no clue about the "X"
  21. @Nositri ... spend the whole day packing ... off to the Post Office and FedEX or UPS. Going to have wine early today
  22. Sorry; neither ... if you have enough room use another Cornwall as a center
  23. @falcon20x ... apologize for being impatient ... PM send with an offer for a lot more $$ to make sure you can cover your shipping charges. Had promised to pay them anyhow, but think you want to be "sure." Regards, Emile
