I shared a house with several college friends. It was a great deal, as our landlords rented us a duplex that was not zoned for multiple unrelated adults, the municipality prevented us from moving in, so our landlords rented us their childhood home for the same rent. It had four bedrooms, a huge yard, pool table, and laundry. I rebuilt a Triumph 650 Bonneville in the basement.

Personally, I would ignore his advice. You like the way they sound. IMO, enjoy them as they are or sell them to your neighbor and let him knock himself out. Do not let him experiment with your speakers and your money.

Congratulations on the Altec Barcelona score. Of course they sound better than Forte’s. They’re larger, heavier, and were more expensive, plus Altec made good products. Some more details regarding your acquisition of the Altecs would be appreciated.

It was clear to me what you are contemplating.

What you describe could be done. I built four from flat packs with 8 ohm Exodus Anarchy woofers. Before all four were completed, first one, then two, then three were powered by various combinations of amps and series or parallel wiring configurations. Now two iNuke1000dsp amps power the four subs. Each sub has its own channel. A fifth scratch-built unit houses the neo version of the woofer you suggest. I paid just $50 for the open box unit from PE. My son uses it in his HT system. After completing the TB unit I compared it to one of the Exodus Anarchy units. There is no discernible to me difference. IIRC, Lil’Mike, the designer of the sub, approved of the TB drivers. The neo and standard unit perform similarly.

Dave - Your toast has just been charcoalized. Now you and I must root for Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Purdue, Maryland, Iowa, & Rutgers. FYI, I’ve lived in the states represented by all but Rutgers & Iowa; I’ve only passed through, or flown over, Iowa and The Garden State. I didn’t know tank farms counted as gardens.

I’m out. The urological issues that put me in are somewhat under control; to be further addressed on an outpatient basis. Thanks to the efforts of the attending, I was able to get Pfizer 2 prior to discharge, which I missed yesterday due to hospitalization. The kind thoughts and words are very much appreciated.

I could be surprised by the size of the economic infusion, whether large or small. So many unknowns make it more like guessing. Do the capacity limitations include the schools' allotments? How many fans will drive and return home? Restaurants and bars should benefit more than hotels.

Colonoscopies are serious business and save lives, but I'd like to see more Respect for Urethra Frankly.

Good news! I just passed a bladder scan test for which I crammed all evening. Fingers crossed escape tomorrow. At least this place gets TBS in the unlikely event I'm still a prisoner on Thursday.
