  2. diesel, I too have the RF-3II's and Denon 2802. I read all over too break them in for 60+ hours. When I asked on this forum they told me 10 minutes. So yes times will very depending who you ask. I did ten minutes because the people on this site told me that a tweeter moves (this is just a number don't quote me)like 51,000,000 times in a minute, so after 10 minutes it should have moved 510,000,000 times. After that its broke in. I listened to whatever music I felt like at the time. Thats what convinced me. I how ever didn't crank it, -10 volume on the receiver until like half an hour or and hour of listening time. Have fun and warn the neighbors. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  3. On my Denon 2802 I can switch between analog and analog only. What does that do? Which do I want? I listen to 80%-90% music and the rest HT. I can't tell a difference when I switch them. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  4. I think Boa is right. My brother is an eletrical engineer and he said not to do that. Don't know why but he said not to. If a dealer or other audiophiles haven't done it, I wouldn't because if you could/should, I'm sure they already would have. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  5. So what your saying is that I should put the spikes in my RF-3II's cause they are in a carpeted room. I was affraid to because the spikes are fricking huge. I didn't want to damage the carpet and have a fine for holes when I leave the apartment. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.

  7. From what I have heard wireless speakers can go on batteries or have direct plug ins. He doesn't want to plug them in directly because of the cathedral ceiling, thats why he wants wireless too, because it would be really hard to do it. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  8. A co-worker of mine was interested in getting wireless speakers for his home. He wants to have his mains on speaker A and then some wireless speakers in a different room for music up in his cathedral ceiling on speaker B. Is this possible or is he going to have to switch them around? Don't you have to run wireless speakers threw the pre-amp? I don't know thing about them. He was wondering if they sound good or if being wireless the quality really goes down. Also what do you guys recommend. He was looking at about $150 for a pair, or is that way to cheap? Thanks for any input. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  9. I first got mine not too long ago, so I showed everyone when I moved back to college my new setup by sitting down and watching lord of the rings. Actually one of my roomates families was down and normally his dad hates loud music. We were watching lord of the rings and he actually said turn it up. (not because he was deaf either) ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.

  11. I liked the part when they killed (sorry don't know the name) the huge bad guy at the beginning of the movie. Then it looks like a bomb goes off and the bass goes vroooooooooommmmmmmmmmmm. You can actually hear and feel it go past you. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  12. I bi-wired my RF-3II's. Didn't really notice a difference. I did it because I got the wire for cheep. Maybe for really expensive speakers it would do more, but not the 3's. To me the logic seems dumb too. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  13. Radio shack sells stuff that is hard to find at other stores. They have every kind of splitter and cable that you can think of, plus for the eletrical engineers resistors, diodes, capacitors, etc. I had one radio shack employee try to tell me that their are only 3 brands of speakers on the market today. RCA and 2 other brands. I didn't laugh in his face but I wanted to. They do need to pitch the RCA stuff though. It sucks. I have noticed what other people say thou, with better wires now available. I even see that they now sell pioneer equipment and MTX speakers. That surprized me when I was in the store last week. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  14. 1. My mother - Turn that sh@t down. 2. My Father - Why do you need all those speakers? 3. My Fiance - Why don't you by me something nice instead of your speakers. ( although she said it is the most clear system she has ever heard.) 4. The Police - Knock Knock "Mr. Zander..." J/K ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  15. Here I will get rid of one of the options for you. Don't get the RF-5's. Not many people have them. If they have a tight budget they get the RF-3II's if not the RF-7's. This is because the the RF-5's just don't seem worth the extra price over the RF-3II's for only a bigger horn. With the RF-7 you get the extra bass too. Just my opinion though. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  16. I got 12 gauge speaker wire from Farm and Fleet for $0.25 a foot. Fleet Farm doesn't have it so notice the difference. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  17. Eventually I would like to amp my system. I don't know anything about amps however. I don't know how many watts it should put out, or what even to look for in an amp?!?! Any imput would help. This is what I have: 1. Denon 2802 receiver, 90watts, 130watts stereo 2. RF-3II and RC-3II 3. An Infinity 250 12" downfiring subwoofer. I guess the other components don't effect this question. I just want more punch out of my system when I play music so I can feel it beat my chest more when I'm standing up. I can feel all kinds of bass sitting on the couch and its great for movies, but for parties and such I want the punch. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.

  20. Ok some of you may laugh at this but I have a question on my crossover. When I set up my Denon 2802 receiver I chose to set the cross over to the lowest setting of 80. On my powered subwoofer I set the crossover on 50 or lower. Does this mean that everything from 80-50 hz I am missing and not hearing? Or am I just a stupid retard and someone should kick me in the head. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  21. Why didn't you tell me this 3 years ago, thats what I have and I paid more than that! ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filter JVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Infinity HPS-250 Subwoofer Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  22. Its the directors and sound crew. I know its stupid not to have huge bass during explosions and other parts of the movie. It really makes the difference between watching a movie and experiencing a movie. ------------------ 27" 3 line digital comb filterJVC TV Denon AVR-2802 Receiver Denon CDM-270 CD Player Aiwa DVD Player (sucks) Klipsch RF3-II's Fronts Klipsch RC3-II Center Yamaha ??? surrounds 69"X76" Hand made oak entertainment center.
  23. Component video is just clearer that s video but it is also allittle brighter which makes it more clear and a better picture to me. I just bought a acoustic reseach cable at Sears and my picture on my 3 line digital comb filter tv is as clear as can be. ------------------ Back for another, year!
  24. I have experience with both. I own the Denon 2802, my brother owns the Onkyo 777. Yes, both are great receivers and you will love them both. I like mine more than his because of my pro logic 2, very nice, exspecially for you if you have lots of VHS tapes. The THX certification is cool to have and bost about, but it doesn't really give you anything, and there isn't many movies out there done in THX. In choosing the 3802, or 2802, thats your choice, you pay for what you get, depends if you want the better remote, and 7.1, if you even use it. Now Onkyo has the 797 out, which I believe does have the prologic 2. I would consider that before the 787. Its up to you , the 787 is nice but to me the prologic 2 is a must so your still in the debate between the 2802, 3802, and 797. ------------------ Back for another, year!
  25. Well I'm back at school again so now I get the fast internet connection back. So how has everyone been? I had a great summer. I bought my Klipsch FR3II's and RC3II. My dad, fiance, and me built and entertainment center this summer too. Just finished it the day before I got back to school. Its big. 69" tall X 72" wide, all oak. I have to put the doors on yet and install the lights in the top shelves for effects. It has 10 adjustable shelves and 5 permanant shelves. As soon as I get a hold of a digital camera I will take pictures of it and my home theater for everyone. It looks great too because I just moved into a new apartment. I'll have to have the neighbors over to check it out. Or should I just crank it and let them come wandering over on their own? One last thing. I went to a co workers house and he just built and home theater room. He cranked his La Scalas for me. WOW! No wonder why Klipsch has such a great name. Great to be back, sorry for all the spelling errors, its been a while since I have been on a computer. ------------------ The 17th school is done, no more forum for me.
