  1. They are possibly what has been referred to as the Heresy 1.5's. Some changes from the original model 1's driver and crossover wise, I think. They were still sold as model 2's with the original plywood, or they had changed the innards and were still in transition from the ply to MDF.
  2. How would you be able to tell IF it is the Khorns that smell? It just might be the house itself... But it's a great tool for the negotiations, just like wvu80 said.
  3. I'd never run across these, so I did some googling. Dear lord above, they want $421 for each 12uf Jensen cap. Is there such a difference that it would be worth spending nearly a grand for two speakers' worth of capacitors?
  4. A lot of singers can sound really good, in a studio setting where you record the same thing over and over, and assemble a song from the best bits. The real test is "Can you sing for an hour and half, and sound fantastic all the way through?".
  5. Candice Night. Great voice. Great... um... all around talent. She fronts the band Blackmore's Night, and is married to Ritchie Blackmore. Yeah, that Ritchie. Deep Purple. Rainbow. Smoke on the Water. He is even more phenomenal on guitar now, than when he was playing for Purple. They mostly do modern takes on Medieval / Renaissance music, with some covers thrown in for fun. The kind of music you can put on in the background and enjoy while working.
  6. https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/69384338 Looks nice. There are a ton of Klipsch subs and other items on the Goodwill auction site, for pickup all over the country.
  7. https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/69048332 Looks like a decent price on the pair. There are a ton of Klipsch subs and other items on the Goodwill auction site, for pickup all over the country.
  8. https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/68968170 They need some work, might be worth it. There are a ton of Klipsch subs and other items on the Goodwill auction site, for pickup all over the country.
  9. Gary, good list! I bet that took a while to type up... Take the offending speaker, and connect it directly to your receiver / amp. If the volume issue still exists, you know it is the speaker itself. If the problem moves along with the speaker, time to try fixing it or replacing if necessary. If the speaker works normally when connected directly, you will know that the issue lies in the switch, or the wiring. Like Gary asked in his post, are you connecting more than one speaker to each channel? If so, like he said, if you place two 8 ohm speakers on the same channel, it does change the resistance by half. If you do 3 speakers, the receiver is most likely seeing a 2 ohm impedance . Most amps will NOT like that. They have to put out more power than normal to run the speakers. (I realize that resistance and impedance are not quite the same thing, but for this conversation either will fit.) If you are using a 5.1 / 7.1 home theater unit as your receiver / amplifier, normally they have a setting that allows you to take 2 channel stereo input, and put that out across all channels. This way each speaker can have it's own channel and all the needed power. Good luck with it! Let us know how it shakes out, would ya?
  10. Not just a little rough. It looks like he beat them up with a motorcycle chain... There is a possible fix for the dents. You let some water soak into the dings, wipe it down, and then use an iron to make the absorbed water turn to steam. This technique is used constantly in the antique restoration field. The steam causes the wood to expand... -edit- I should have mentioned that you use a cloth between the iron and the wood to avoid scorching the veneer.
  11. Thanks. I would need to sell the Heresy pair for $500 or two KG4 pair for $250 each in perfect shape.
  12. It sounds like the guy is asking $700 for the Chorus II, and $50 for the Bose. I will text him in a while and find out.
  13. That's a nice amp. I hope you can pick it up!
  14. We use the Heresy from 6 to 8 hours a day. I might have to check out the Chorus 2’s!
  15. That's a bedroom community for Orlando. I saw those, and then I wondered why they haven't been sold in a month. Something wrong with them?
  16. Anyone in Florida want a nice pair of Heresy and $250 for your Chorus???
  17. That tells me the Forte and Heresy are not far off from each other, sound wise.
  18. I think you both are right in this. In thinking about it, I realized that I wasn't digging the black, either. And it annoys me that they have removed the tags.
  19. I have no idea. I'm not going to ask, either. *<;o)
  20. I am chatting with a guy that wants to trade his Forte 1's in black for a Heresy set. Is this a good deal, or should I pass? Which would you rather keep? Please let me know what you think!
  21. Good job. My Mrs. can SMELL when I am thinking about buying new speakers. We now have a strict one in / one out policy in effect. *<;o)
