Dennis Had is selling 300B amps for $4k. -
I know it's been over three years...but did you ever sell this KV2?
-
That thing's gorgeous. Love my 430--won't ever get rid of it.

Here's the shitty part--those are the first LSIIs to show up for sale within driving distance of me in, well...forever. Don't remember it ever happening. And I just bought a pair of '85 La Scalas locally because those never come up for sale around here...and Dean is making my new crossovers THIS WEEKEND. ARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

I think I’m done searching for a while.

Thanks. It’s a great amp, and was my entre into the world of tubes. But then I discovered single-ended. Sure wish my new Dennis Had amp looked as nice as this does!

85 watt Class A/B amplifier. $1200, I’ll include the following: - 4 Genalec Gold Lion KT88 output tubes - 2 12ax7 input tubes of your choice, from my vintage stash. Brands include: RCA Telefunken Mullard JJ Matsushita Raytheon Sylvania GE - 2 12at7 preamp tubes from the same, or similar, brands. For local buyers, free to audition and choose your favorite combination. Includes original user manual, and factory three-box packaging. Shipping from Chicago to San Diego ran about $100 when I purchased it last year(Facebook shipping rates won’t apply, as the amp weighs about 65lbs.) https://www.jolida.com/product/fusion-3502-p

If only my bank account was infinite. I had to "settle" for Audyns and Thetas. ;) But they're DeanG modified AA crossovers replacing my 37 year old AL crossovers, so I'm in for a treat either way.

Just a brief update: Since I've last posted, I have: Discovered Mullard Blackburn 12AX7s. Replaced the Cornwalls with a pair of '85 La Scalas. Picked up a thrashed Harman Kardon 430 which I'm feeding a multitude of digital sources via a Topping D10s and into the Cornwalls our home office. Ordered modified AA crossovers for the La Scalas from DeanG (as one does). Taken delivery of a Dennis Had Inspire SEP amp (anyone want to buy a Jolida?). Taken out a small loan from my 401k to pay off all of this over the next five years. But between the La Scalas and the Had...I am there. I've found satisfaction. Everything they say about Single-Ended amps, it seems, is true. I can't imagine how much better they'll sound after I drop in the new crossovers. It's a common tale, but this one seems to have found a happy ending.

Wonder how long they were underwater...

Sweet Jesus. -
Original owner, 9/10 condition. All original manuals, hardware, and jumpers. Grille is in A1 condition. Local pickup only in San Diego.

Don’t buy NOS—buy used. Buy different cheap used tubes until you find a sound you’re happy with, then start collecting them. Old GE tubes are a great place to start. Matsushitas are good too. If you want to spend a bit more, go with RCA or Tungsram. Hell, you can find Telefunkens and Mullards for $50 apiece if you just keep looking.

For 12ax7s stick with old stock.

This saved me a buncha money today. wish I could afford to patronize Upscale Audio.

Damn. I can’t find Gold Lion KT88s anywhere outside of Alibaba Express. May be time to give JJ a try.
