  1. More about China’s manipulation of covid19 propaganda. Maynard is correct. We do not want this level of communication censorship in America but things do seem headed in this direction. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-55355401
  2. Here’s to America and our freedom to speak. If speech was open and free in China we may have been alerted to covid19 sooner than occurred. China has now convicted and jailed the journalist who 1st spoke openly about covid19. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-55463241
  3. I would posit 2 hypotheticals. Would you rather live in a state where each person determines their own medical choices based upon whatever they choose to believe...... or would you rather reside in a state where enforced public health policies are anchored in genuine science? Honestly I would not care what people decide to do with their medical care IF it does not impact others. So if you trust them, would you like to live exclusively where they live?
  4. Au contraire: The mantra of don’t get vaccinated and allow covid19 to perpetuate is patently insane. Covid19 is costing the world a fortune in monies and miseries. It effects everyone, workers and druggies alike. The least painful solutions are the vaccines, the masks and the hygiene required to control covid19. The worst news I’ve heard lately is that covid19 now resides in the wild mink population. That represents a new repository for the disease and one not easily dealt with. So - yeah - get vaccinated and get your welfare check. How tough is that?
  5. Maynard.... you’re not considering how much medicine and high tech medical care is required to keep the covid19 mortality statistics low. We do see where covid19 can overwhelm major cities and every hospital in those cities. We have the dead and we have many survivors with unknown futures because of how virulent covid19 is to our human bodies. Without any question covid19 needs to be stopped ASAP. Stopped before it infects and kills/injures more and stopped before the virus mutates into something more lethal, more infectious and even harder to manage. Everything the public can do to stop covid19 - the public must do.
  6. Perhaps Justice is defined as the consolation that the criminal would not ever be allowed in any position to repeat their crime? The victims never get back their losses but play a pivotal part in securing a safer community in seeking maximal punishment for the perpetrator. The victim statement might be: You will never recoup your loss but rest assured that this criminal will not ever do to another what he’s done to you and your family. This is the best just reward that we can offer anyone.
  7. The difference is that this will be a gathering of people’s you know we’re somehow exposed to covid19 and you have no idea where any of them maybe insofar as being infectious. Did they say anything about covid19 screening? Certainly keep your distance and mask up. It is a very sad predicament.
  8. Rap brings to mind what yodeling did to the aliens in the movie ‘Mars Attacks’. 🤯
  9. Ironically most people do not know they have terminal cancer until it’s too late. Covid19 is an infectious disease than can kill quickly or show no symptoms but everyone can help to control its spread. So what’s the problem? You are part of the solution or part of the problem and being part of the solution is so simple you’d have to be a fool not to participate.
  10. IMHO people who refused to wear masks should be at the back of the line for vaccinations. I would also include civil authorities who refused to enforce mask ordinances in this sentiment. There a many healthcare workers who’ve died doing their jobs caring for the covid19 victims. Any armchair quarterbacks who made covid19 worse than it needed to be deserve the very least. Back of the line if they contract covid19. Back of the line for covid19 vaccinations.
  11. When covid19 started in America it was a known peril with many unknown facts. Covid19 required immediate treatment for the sick, immediate evaluation of the organism and public health policies set to try and control the spread of the disease. These were hard things to do. These were costly things to do. But the consequences of not doing them were worse in every regard. And our gov’t made the promise that it would bring us covid19 vaccines ASAP with an unheard of timeline of less than one year. The public was asked to do a few simple and inexpensive things. And for so many wrong reasons too many in the public refused to listen. For some illogical reasons too much of the public determined that it understood infectious diseases better than the professionals. Now this part of the public knows it was wrong. Now is too late because they have undermined the entire country. Now the naysayers have cost all Americans a tremendous fortune and delivered untold tragedies for so many families. Instead of adhering to a wise policy to keep covid19 as controlled as possible some decided they had to have Sturgis, spring breaks, massive riots and political rallies. Americans who did this know who they are. I hope they know how to hang their heads in shame. Because of them there is a huge price paid and much more to come as the long term consequences of covid19 unfold in the future. The status of covid19 in America today is not China’s fault. It is not the fault of covid19. It is the direct fault of those people who failed their country, their families and themselves. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/deadliest-us-year-2020-mainly-due-to-covid-19/?ftag=CNM-00-10aac3a
  12. Gotta be more fun than looking at Uranus........😏
  13. Because not everyone will get vaccinated and the vaccinations will likely not confer permanent immunity. We need a quick and fool proof way to contain and stop a new break out before it spreads.
  14. Home tests have one huge problem. They rely upon the individual to be interested enough to participate in such tests at any cost. We can’t get people to wear cheap masks. What is needed is a breath test for covid19. This could be administered as a requisite to travel or even enter a store. They could run regional tests like they do for drunk drivers. They are working on breath tests..... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-54718848
  15. As old timer notes - there are plenty enough actual sick people and dead people to validate the seriousness of covid19. Right now every ICU bed in Southern California is occupied and here locally 66% of our ICU capacity has covid19 occupants. Covid19 is currently (and once again) overwhelming our systems. So nit picking PCR results is of no practical consequence when reality proves the point beyond any doubt. Sure, I can agree to fine tuning the tests to improve accuracy. But at this juncture, ‘so what’?
  16. Sorry to hear this news. We know of 2 people taken by covid19. They were both older and suffered many comorbidities. We know many who survived their covid19 episode to varying degrees. I worry about the future - 25 years from now and what ailments may arise because of prior covid19 infections. It’s been a rough year.
  17. AIDS was our 1st modern novel pandemic. It was/is far more lethal than covid19. Humanity has understood AIDS for decades now, more precisely exactly how it is transmitted and how it can be prevented. Yet still, today, in America alone we have 30,000 to 40,000 new cases of AIDS annually most of which occur in our homosexual populations. To me this is as incomprehensible as humanities response to covid19. For all the uproar about HIV/AIDS - now that it is understood the same high risk group that snarled the loudest refuses to adopt easily implemented measures to contain the disease. Amazing. Thinking it comes down to - dumb as a box of doorknobs. People still smoke. People can be tricked into believing that ‘vaping’ is safe, healthy and fun. Inherently humans are the perfect storm of stupid and stubborn and free to decide their own paths in life. And there aren’t any consequences. Refuse to wear a mask where masks are mandated and most communities do nothing. It will be the same with a federal mask mandate. People will also refuse the covid19 vaccines. If those vaccines require routine booster inoculations those will dwindle in time. And as humanity further encroaches on nature we’ll have a new disease and we’ll repeat this covid19 saga, or worse. It is humane nature and you can’t fix stupid....... but some certainly know how to take advantage of it.
  18. They’ll probably charge the home owner with manslaughter by ‘’entrapment’ and there will be protests calling for mandatory burglar safe windows and defunding of police.
  19. How’s about not using the system for a few days and see if anything changes? Tinnitus is notoriously difficult to pin down and an ENT visit could be in order if nothing else but to obtain a baseline audiogram. Could be that you’re harboring a subacute infection or perhaps even seasonal allergies with associated congestion?? Best to get it looked at as it may lead to other problems such as vertigo.
  20. Said ‘object’ is gone. Under cover of darkness it was mysteriously removed by persons, or aliens unknown. They left a small cairn and the triangular stainless top (or bottom?) plate of the ‘thingy’. Apparently there was no massive disturbance of the surroundings. It is as though it was levitated and spirited away...... home?
  21. There is plenty of medical relevance in physics for starts. 2ndly he’ll add college level didactics to his resume a great plus in medicine. 3rdly it will demonstrate how well rounded and how well grounded he is foundationally. Ideally his physics work would allow him some participation in research, any research...... perfect for any science arena. I’d keep him away from CNA type work because of covid19. Having done this work he’s paid his dues. Step it up. Let him taste academia. He’ll enjoy the work, the people and the environment. He’ll get introduced to the politics in higher education.
  22. LOVE cold pizza....... with Tabasco. I have to suffer with roast beef, etc...😞
  23. That’s the tool used to make crop circles. 👍😳
