  2. “Give up the zip, ''unhip part of bklyn''. Where do you want to live, 3 stops from the city?????” Nope. Yup, but not via the L train. And you?
  3. An unhip part of brooklyn and in nyc since ‘94. Thank you!!!
  4. Be careful, the only known vaccine is negative cashflow. Welcome!
  5. He's on another forum I'm on: https://dynacotubeaudio.forumotion.com/t4987-the-perfect-gift I sent this one to him. Hope it helps. I don't have any R2R myself. Also- erhardt audio works with Studers
  6. Fully agree. I've had the CD version since it was released. I fired it up this morning cause i was "in the mood..."
  7. @DeangBut then you're not getting the approved Klipsch sound. I recommend GEM for the genuine approved magnetic and non-magnetic screws as were installed at the factory if the 40 year old originals show signs of flux leakage and or cosmic ray damage.
  8. Update- The Ti diaphragms arrived 3 hrs ago. I put one replacement in an hour ago. When I removed the old phenolic, the ferrofluid all remained in the voice coil gap so I used that. I cleaned a minimal amount off of the old vc but that was it. I put the new Ti diaphragm in after reading 8.5 ohms and put it all back together. Sounds great so far. Will do a lot more listening.
  9. My K-79k's had it. I cleaned it out and put in new when I checked my diaphragms. I only did this because I'd read on this forum that it can dry out and be gummy. Mine was not but I'd ordered the fluid so replaced it. I don't know about "recovering" I don't think there's an audible difference. IIRC, it's to keep the voice coils cool and operating within their wattage ratings. Parts Express has the amount for 1" voice coils is about $7 per. They have measured amounts for the size of the VC. The kits are complete. I may have killed one of my original diaphragms and had to order Ti replacements from Klipsch. I checked to see if they would be compatible w/ the ferrofluid and they are per Trey and CBH. The replacements arrive today. Will install one tonight and compare with the working phenolic before changing that one. I will re-do the fluid again. Please, no admonishments necessary as I'm beating myself up about it. Best advice- if it works, don't fix it!
  10. Is that the new Technics / Discwasher collab they were showing at AXPONA?
  11. I forgot to mention them. I got a few 12AU7 /ECC82 from them. Not currently using those but they were fine and helpful to deal with (describing characteristics of their offerings). I also like their story.
  12. Saw this today- https://trackingangle.com/features/trackingangle-visits-dartzeel-audio-geneva-switzerland Dartzeel (I don't really know of them) are setting up a new factory/ workshop and their listening rooms will have Klipsch Heritage and 2 sets of Jubilee to show their stuff off. (approximately 7:00 min). They test their amps out before shipping but say their really efficient speakers are sensitive enough to show any problems beyond scopes, etc (29:00 minutes). Not a klipsch centric video but they did get a couple of mentions.
  13. I just got his last quad of KT120. Gonna miss him.
  14. Thank you @Deang!!! They look great. I couldn't have done it like that (the first or second time 😜). I know what you had to work with. Great photos. Nothing lost in translation. Cant wait to fire 'em up!
  15. Bought from Viva Tubes once. No issues https://www.vivatubes.com
  16. You might try Jim McShane. I've bought from him a couple of times prior to the plague. His prices were fare and the tubes were good. http://www.mcshanedesign.net
  17. Have you tried switching L to R and R to L channels to make sure it’s the speaker and not something else?
  18. You probably need to post more to be able to put photos up. Welcome!
  19. Just a heads up- I ordered this 3x CD box from Amazon last August. https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Village-Vanguard-Recordings-1961/dp/B000AMJEKA/ref=sr_1_2?content-id=amzn1.sym.f03eb388-6553-42c1-88e5-7e00d0e3d16b&keywords=bill+evans+vanguard&pd_rd_r=f78e45ad-6e39-4559-81d5-c2bd0be17909&pd_rd_w=QMzPG&pd_rd_wg=BWtgF&pf_rd_p=f03eb388-6553-42c1-88e5-7e00d0e3d16b&pf_rd_r=GCYQ3PEHZHRH6K9H1KSS&qid=1672443528&sr=8-2 It had a 1 second glitch on one disc, I returned it but so did the replacement. They said keep it. I don't recall where the dropout is but it's really not a dealbreaker. It's possible current ones don't have it either. If you like Bill Evans, it's very good. I also couldn't beat the final price.
  20. Thoughts- As Tecate/GEM are the only approved/ authorized Klipsch capacitor manufacturer/ supplier, would there be sufficient quantities needed to make these caps in form factors that would directly fit the original XO boards? Do Chief Bonehead, Dean, and the powers that be, have any sway here? I think more restorers would go with the GEM replacements if there were a direct replacement. I thought some caps were getting smaller as manufacturing processes have advanced. Right now it's kind of a mess to get things right. Again, just me thinking out loud...
  21. I sent you a couple of emails. You should have them Saturday 12/24. Thanks again!
  22. @DeangIt's not too late. Will PM soon. Much appreciated!
