  1. He came up with these based on the newer style badges.
  2. There is a guy in Russia that makes these for about $60 a pair. I had them made for my K Horns, La Scalas Chorus II and Forte IIs. He did a great job and is on Ebay. Might be an issue with the war though. I had a thread on this:
  3. Good enough, I thought that I splurged! I have like 100 bucks into my cables.
  4. Monster cable was originally marketed as thick "monster" sized cable when it first came out. The thought being that really high powered amps which were still relatively new needed heavier cable. The Polk 'cobra' cable is interesting, looks like the same thing as Kimber. Low inductance but high capacitance. The whole thing has really gotten out of hand. I like Mogami 11 Ga 3103 stage wire. It is almost 1/2" thick with the jacket and nice and round. It lays nice and flat and will follow a baseboard nicely so it is tidy. Good reason? EDIT: I just googled the Mogami wire. The nutjobs have gotten a hold of it and are selling it for quite a bit. It was a little over $2 a foot about fifteen years ago in bulk. Buy it in bulk and put on your own ends.
  5. I didn't know Mike Colter moved to Texas...
  6. Here is the hard truth. If you have diabetes sugar is a serious issue. Just get rid of sugar, artificial sweeteners and refined carbs. You can do it and once you 'make it to the top of the hill' the other side is an easy downhill ride. We never evolved to eat it and it is dangerous to you. For sodas, we occasionally drink soda water with a lemon or lime. Taste great and good if you have an upset stomach. I recently started drinking my coffee with a little butter and virgin coconut oil. No sugar. You can add heavy cream if you like. Google Bulletproof coffee. Basically drink water, tea coffee and occasionally beer wine etc. Try to cook fresh food as processed foods (anything in a box that says in big shiny letters that it is healthy) need to be avoided. These things make a huge difference in the way that you feel every day. I wish you well with your handling your disease. This is not a criticism.
  7. Yes, their Icon stuff is really high quality. I remember the first HF here in the early 90s and they were OK for occasional use tools but that was about it. Surprisingly I have many of their tools from back then, but I do not use them often. They now make commercial quality items, they are expensive, but a fraction of the price of the comparable high end brands. Here is the deal, the Daytona is low profile 4", 23" plus height, well made, pumps quickly, really heavy duty, and has a really nice finish. Only downside is the weight. I think I will regret buying anything else.
  8. Sounds like you can use them and then sell if you they do not work out, but you did say that these are attractive because they cab be delivered. Do you have the ability to move these around and possibly pack up or deliver if you need to sell? They can become a burden.
  9. Yes looks nice, maybe an aluminum / steel hybrid. But can it safely lift an 11,000 lb vehicle? The Dayton can lift either end and is built to do so. Also goes 4" higher. https://www.amazon.com/Arcan-ALJ3T-Aluminum-Floor-Jack/dp/B0047D2FWM?qu=eyJxc2MiOiIzLjQxIiwicXNhIjoiMi45NCIsInFzcCI6IjIuOTEifQ%3D%3D Some bad reviews for the Arcan on Amazon too, the Dayton gets glowing reviews everywhere.
  10. I have a big roll of this gold/silver cloth. I am installing on Fortes and Chorus, should have done soon schedule permitting. Looks like the 70th anniversary cloth. I have not sold any yet as I wanted to get my speakers done first.
  11. I just watched the video, I didn't realize that it was Project Farm. He has great videos. I think this seals the deal, he picked the Daytona.
  12. Yes I have seem similar comparisons. I'll need to watch this one. I also saw the jack in person and actually, in candy apple red is looked so nice. I want it and need it, the only concern is the weight. But if it rolls nicely that i snot an issue.
  13. I think that I need the big one. It is used in many auto shops., My only concern is the weight but I think it has good quality wheels. I need the tall lift and extra heavy duty for my van.
  14. Thanks, she has a kindle but I want to get her a nice set of books. I figure these will take a while to read and she really likes the series, so a nice set of books is in order.
  15. Thought that I would throw it out there. I want to buy these for my mother for Christmas. Anyone have the Game of Thrones complete book sets, preferably in hard cover? The prequil too if anyone has these and wants to get rid of them.
  16. I have a trolley jack. I use in an emergency or maybe if I need to take it with me. The big jacks have better control and lift way easier with much less effort. I work out in a weight room, not when maintaining a car. 😁 You can get a very nice floor jack for $100 which is what I paid 30 years ago.
  17. Is it a big deal to move around? I need to move it a little distance to my RV pad. No lifting, just wheeling around.
  18. I agree, my move to Palladiums, other than being a big Klipsch fan, was from B&W 800 series. I had the N801s and Tigereye 800 Signatures. Loved them but they required 700 wpc monos to drive them. The Palladiums were a lateral move, but much more forgiving on amps and still really nice to look at. I still have B&W Tigereye Signature 805s, another pair of N805's for an office system and a pair N804s for good measure. I like the B&W 803s and down because they have the same sound but are easy to drive like the Palladiums, but not as dynamic. The Palladiums would have make it if they were called something else. Like Toyota forming Lexus. Audiophiles will accept a speaker made in someone's garage as 'Audiophile grade' but not a true high end speaker make by a major manufacturer with an enormous R&D department and extremely talented engineers because they also make affordable speakers.
  19. Those things are huge! They dwarf the P37's which are full size floor standers. My 38's look big is a very big room. Nice.
  20. My 30 year old floor jack finally died. Puked up its oil and stopped spinning. I do very little auto work anymore, just maintenance because everyone that I hire seems to do a half a$$ed job and I keep my vehicles for about 20 years or more. I have a 4 door sedan, a slightly lifted Silverado, and an Airstream / Mercedes Sprinter that is a heavy pig (about 11K lbs). So I prefer a low profile but also a high lift and heavy duty. Harbor Freight has this jack below, Dayton super duty modeled after a Snap On. I went there yesterday and it is actually beautiful in candy apple red. Awesome reviews. 3 ton, low profile, 24" lift and super heavy duty. Does anyone have it? My only concern is that it weights 110 lbs. I do not plan on picking it up, just rolling it around so I think it will be OK. They had it bolted down or I would have taken it for a test drive. My brother is a car maniac (as I used to be, but I was cured, I should have just stuck with audio which I got into when I was about 11 years old) and he said to get an aluminum racing jack, but I think that he might put his in a truck when he goes racing. All of the aluminum jacks seem to be racing which means rapid down. I like having a lot of control to get the vehicle on the jack stands correctly which is not a concern for racing. Anyone using the heavy duty one? If I buy an aluminum jack I will still need a big bottle jack for my van so the total price is about the same. HF always seems to have sales too and black Friday is coming up. https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive/jacks-jack-stands/3-ton-low-profile-super-duty-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-sunburst-metallic-orange-57590.html https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive/jacks-jack-stands/3-ton-aluminum-racing-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-64544.html I also have not been to HF in years, they have really stepped up their game in some areas. The Icon tool boxes are just plain awesome. Some really nice parallel wood clamps too.
  21. Oh my god, those are beautiful. I am glad that these are not local or they would be in my living room. I downloaded pics. Worth every penny, someone go get these! I have about 10 to 15 yards of black grill cloth with 'silvery gold' mesh like the anniversary K Horns that would look amazing on these.
  22. I use P37's as surrounds. I could not bring myself to get rid of them. If you are selling the P37s most don't realize that they are as big as RF7s, they may be the smallest of the Palladium floor standers, but are full size speakers in every respect and worth every penny. The P38s are very big and I assume the 39s are huge.
  23. If you don't want to mess with enclosed backs and are looking for 'plug and play' do not buy K Horns. They take some work to get right and you will just get frustrated. Room also looks kind of narrow and you will likely have to sit too close because the drivers fire out from the corners at 45 degrees. Narrow room means a smaller triangle and you need to sit a decent distance back for the drovers to converge. Stick with La Scalas and if some Cornwalls or Chorus pop up, or even better Fortes, they should work very well in your room and be plug and play.
