  1. Thats easy to fix, change the channel Spongebob has very little Bass ! []
  2. I first want to say there are NO excuses for things he may have done as an adult, period. Did anyone see that special where he was interviewed about when he was first joining the family as a performer ? The interviewer asked him about the family's rehearsal's, he said if they missed a step or did not sing just right his father would beat them. He was crying and was not acting he was/is afraid of his father. He said we were beat with what ever was there that his father would pick up, they were thrown against the wall, kicked and beat until they would be bleeding and have bruises. He was asked what his mother would do, not much but she did try to stop him screaming "your going to kill him stop" but she could not stop him. MJ said look at any of the TV programs when they first started preforming on TV, he said were all terrified our father would think we could have done better because we knew what would happen when we got home. From the way he talked he was still scared of him and did not care if he ever seen him. Whatever MJ did in the rest of his life is on him, but I guess back then people got away with doing things like that to kids, he used the kids to make a living after he singing career failed, he said they would get the family out of that town if it killed them.
  3. I don't think you could not go wrong with either one, if you end up needing a little more bass you could add a small sealed sub for a little more tight bass.
  4. Thanks Dee, like many I can remember exactly where I was when they landed on the moon.
  5. The receiver is fine, no rush, the only reason I said anything is it sounded like it really loud sometimes which the unit you have now can do. It's just later down the road you could do something just to give you that extra head room for really loud parts of a movie. Another thing to think about is after these speakers break in a little more you may find the sound to get even a little better than it is now, when it all comes together and you bring the wife in to see the first movie her mouth will drop with everything adjusted and tuned up, she will be happy.
  6. I think you would like them, a very well balanced speaker with a nice midrange horn on the ll model. To me it's almost a perfect speaker considering the size and performance, much smaller than the Cornwall with everything the Cornwall has but with less bass but possibly tighter bass. IMO...but I am partial to them. [] The only thing I don't like about the Forte ll is the passive radiator, not how it works but that it can't be replaced. No original parts to be had unless you could figure out the specs to find a replacement ???
  7. I hate to be the one to say it but if you got to + on the receiver you may need more power or a 3 ch amp to connect to your pre outs to give enough for headroom which should be in short supply at + 5 to 15. Glad you like the THX speakers, a sub to keep up and the rest of the speakers will make a world of difference, your not even close to your final sound, it will be unbelievable.
  8. Why thank you, just trying to help, hope everything sound great !
  9. Your not kidding that is ugly !
  10. Your right it only has A- B and they can only play from the one source the receiver is set to. Not a problem because the Ht and 2 CH will be in the same room. Now the cables being shipped by UPS is rescheduled for Monday so a little more of a Wait.
  11. Your doing the right thing, just keep it up. You never know how things turn out but if you do the right thing you can never blame your self for not trying as best you could. I know it's easy for me to say but it could be worse, everyone is healthy talking and alive, I know that people take these things for granted but things could be alot worse, the best thing that could happen is you at least keep these things in your favor. Good luck and we will pray for your family. Always remember you have many friends.
  12. I get some kind of FLAC everyday ! Sorry Jb was being serious and Fini was not around and no one has said anything smart @ss in this whole thread, I feel obligated !
  13. I had a SC-1 and some SB-3's and SS-1's as my first Klipsch speakers. The RB-51's will sound better, a little cleaner and more detailed and it would help to get the Reference center. Actually it would help to get the next size up center for the match to the RB-51's since the center carries so much of a movie. I wouldn't just get the newer version of the SC-1 the 6 year old one you have wouldn't be much different from the new version.
  14. The reason you don't find many people using the speakers you want to use for rears is many on the forum don't use in-wall/ceiling speakers. I am not sure but I would guess a RB 10 is not that much different from the R 5502 w both are Reference and not that much different in size. Most people on the forum are NOT normal when it comes to speakers [:|] most have big to huge setups and have spent years or most of there life chasing the "best speaker" which usually are on the big side of the scale. [:$] There is nothing wrong with what your doing you will have a setup better than anyone who buys a "home theater in a box" and better than 95% of the general public ! Don't be afraid to ask questions, just be patient sometimes the answers take a while but most people here are very knowledgeable and willing to help.
  15. If they are more "robust" than you mains they will be turned down a bit, BUT even if they were the same exact speaker as the front that would also be turned down a little. The rears should be turned down a bit, the whole idea is to have all the speakers volumes adjusted so when you sit in your listening spot (sofa/chair) all the speakers have the same volume if a test tone is played. That way when a certain channel/speaker is intended to have a noise louder than the others it does. Your making up for the different distances you sit from each speaker by doing this . Most new receivers have a mic and it should calibrate all of this, I would guess ? Me I would rather do it myself and know what I did right. I use a radio shack DB meter ($50) and play the test tone the receiver puts out and manually adjust each speaker volume ( in the receiver's menu) to play the same volume at my seating position using the on screen display and the remote, I set my crossover in the receiver and that does it. You do hear a big difference when set properly don't underestimate what this does it's very important. It's really very simple to do, sorry if you already know all of that I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't. [Y]
  16. Don't worry the Denon will need to be adjusted anyway, all the channels will be adjusted to an even volume, from where you listen. There is not that big of a difference so just the leveling of all the channels would balance it out. As far as timber match there all Reference so I would think that's not a problem,
  17. I don't have the separate unit to receive Sirius but it's on the Dish Network service we get and Gary is correct mediocre at best. This weekend I was cleaning the workshop and found an old car antenna and I had already had ran a cable out the wall for a FM antenna which I never did go get. So I put the old car antenna on the cable and set it up on the edge of the roof and went in to try it. I was surprised It sounded better than the Sirius channels, much better and more bass, also the 2 oldies stations and a couple of rock stations had a better play list than any of the Sirius channels. They say CD quality [bs] and it's there HD receiver so there is no excuses.
  18. We have years ago, there was a place about a mile from our house that was run buy an old man and when the washer broke she asked if he wanted the old machine for parts which he did but ended up selling her a machine for like $150, it lasted for years ! Could have bought 15 for what the new one cost. [:#]
  19. I don't really remember much of all that back then, just happy to be alive. []
  20. Oh I never thought you got your money's worth on them things to start with just in the price compared to years of service alone you get bent over,IMO. You could buy more than 2 or 3 sets of the regular machines for the price of these. [] I think that was my argument at the time !
  21. Your probably right, especially since our water only cost what it cost to run a 3/4 Hp pump and the "fancy" soap cost more or about the same if you measure in washes. Also a much faster spinning dryer does not spin faster for free ! Kind of like carbon credits or global warming, or real change in the gov...mostly just [bs] ! The wife really liked it though.........for a short while then the fun wore off ! [:^)] If it were up to me I would only have a old style washer and a clothes line, at least I could figure out how to work the old ones by just reading the knob NOT the new ones.
  22. I have to tell the Truth, the reason they don't want me to wash clothes is a few years ago I went the Whinchester route I put a clothes line under the back porch and hung out the clothes. It was summer and I could dry them faster than I could wash them. The problem was everyone complained about stiff clothes and the towels would almost stand up on there own and felt like rough sandpaper, I kind of liked them stiff and rough? When I did the towels a couple of weeks ago I tied up a rope under the side patio and hung the towels, they were not happy, they came behind me and caught up all the laundry just so I would not do it. [Y] They would never let me do anything but towels because about 10 years ago everyone has light pink socks for months. never got that sorting thing ?
