  1. On November 8 2000 I came home and found my wife gone. She left me with twenty dollars cash and minus 900.00 in the bank. On Sept 10 2001 I bought a house and had a houseful of new stuff. For five years I was a hermit with just music and movies for company. On June 21 2005 I logged on to match.com. On June 25 I met the love of my life. She moved into my house in October but alas my Forte II's and my 4 KG 5.5's moved into the closet. With all of her stuff in my house I only had room for a pair of KSB 3.1's. But I told her that she meant more to me then big speakers and she did bring a 55" tv. However all is not lost. Today I sold my house for a profit of $40,000.00. This weekend we will be moving into her house. Since her house is 50% bigger then mine all of my speakers will be comming out of the closets again. I belive that November 8 2000 was the second best my of my life and that June 25 2005 was the best day of my life. I am now with the person I should be with. Sometimes what appears to be an ending is really a new beginning.
  2. I have been using a modified KG 5.5 for about 6 years. I believe that it works very well with Forte II's. For music I find the Forte's have enough bass. I use a KSW12 for movies. The KG 5.5 center is very large and mine mounts on a shelf over my 55" tv.

My son used the other KG5.5 with his KLF20's and it was much better then the C7 that it replaced. He replaced the 20's with Cornwalls and the Kg5.5 with a KLF10 center and that also works very well. I see no reason that a KLF10 would not be at least as good as a KG5.5 center with your Forte's.
  4. Hobby is closer and smaller then Bush. If you stay near Hobby you will also be closer to JSC, Galveston, Kemah and if like that sort of thing, the Pasadena petro-chemical complex. At night it is quite a sight. There is a pretty good place to eat at Brodway and I45. Kelly' Country Cooking. Most items under 10.00.
  5. Hobby is much closer to downtown Houston then Bush. You will need a car. Parking for Minute Maid Park is private lots or on the street. Hotels downtown and the Galleria are not very cheap. If this is for just one nite you may want to check out a Motel 6 or a Ramada Inn. There are also many hotels near the medical center and Reliant Stadium. If you choose a hotel near the new light rail you can ride the train downtown and walk a few blocks to the ballpark. If you have time drive down to Galveston for some fresh seafood. Or go to Kemah and watch the sailboats while you eat.
  6. I think that the current in Europe is at 50 hz instead of our 60 hz. Adapters to 60 hz should be available.

  8. In June the sewer line under my house was cracked. My insurance company paid 9000.00 to repair and reroute my sewer line. I made one phone call to the insurance company and my adjuster called me many times. The check took about two weeks to get here. My plumbing contractor did the work and also installed a new water heater and dishwasher at no cost to me. In September my policy expired and my insurance company chose to pull out of Texas. My new policy would not have covered this loss. I think that I came out ahead.
  9. I use KG3.1's in my bedroom and they do an excellent job. I would upgrade.
  10. My KG5.5 center has the port in the rear and it works very well. It is mounted to the wall above the tv with three metal brackets. My son had his sitting on top of his tv with no ill effect.
  11. I traded a nib pair of SB3's for a pair of KG5.5's in mint condition and we are both happy with the trade.
  12. It is the other way around. Klipsch dropped Tweeter.
  13. I use a KSW12 with my Forte II's and I find that it does make quite a difference in movies. The Fortes do not need help on music so the sub is mosly used for movies.
  14. I use a KG 5.5 for the center with my Forte II's. To my untrained ears is seems to be a very good match. I also use Kg 5.5's for rears and I think that they are also a very good match. I do not use my sub very much since the II's go so low but I do have a KSW12 for movies with explosions and such. Monster cables all around.
  15. Mike I also use Forte II's for mains. For music I seldom use the sub. For movies with a lot of explosions it does me just fine. It may not shake the house down but it will rattle the windows. I now am using KG5.5's for center and rears. For movies I like this setup a lot. For music I just use the Forte's. For a fes years I used KSB 3.1's for rears and had no problem with them. If it was my money I would put more of my money in speakers then in subs.
  16. I use a KSW12 with my Forte II's. I mostly leave it off for music. Since I am not way into explosions or pipe organ music I think that it does just fine. It certainly makes a difference in movies. Tweeter in Houston is selling KSW12 for about $250.00. If you live near a Tweeter check one out
  17. If you like the KSW10 keep it. There is not that much difference. If you are really into bass perhaps you should move up to a RSW
  18. Your quintets only go down to 120 I think that you will get more thump for your buck if you get bigger speakers.

    The Ring

I bought The Ring and rented Ringu. I liked the Ring much more. Fear.Com has the same plot but is not as well done

    Road to Perdition

I rented it but do not think that it was good enough to buy. Unless you are really into Tom Hanks. On the plus side it is not a girl movie
  21. Phil H Just how does dropping Tweeter impact the grey market problem? Your lack of loyalty to a long time Klipsch dealer and your smoke and mirror answers about it causes some of us to worry about your loyalty to long time Klipsch customers. Without Tweeter just where will I find Klipsch on display close to Pasadena Texas. Oh I know the grey markst.
  22. You can also try setting your front speakers to small. That seems to work for my KSW12s
  23. Bose has a good head start but maybe Klipsch thinks that they can catch them. The race is on.
  24. 1. The Synergy line becomes a Best Buy house brand 2. The Reference line leaves Tweeter and reappears at some obscure mom pop a/v store 3. The Heritage line is allowed to die 4. The mom & pops cannot support the Reference line and it too is allowed to die. 5. Klipsch becomes Bose
