  1. Second time taking the carb of my Stihl FS-250 brushwacker this year. Broke it down, thought I cleaned every jet and orifice with Gumout and compressed air. Can't get the SOB to idle or run continually at medium RPM's. Screams like hell wide open. Just changed spark plug...wasn't optimistic, but out of desperation had to eliminate that. I bought this top of the line brushwacker in 2004 and I think I have more time working on it than actually using it. Pisses me off big time. Metering diaphragm and pump diaphragm look fine, O.K. going to take the carb off and soak just the carb body in Gumout, not the gaskets or rubber diaphragms. Last shot. $71 for a new carb and $48 for a rebuild kit...no brainer...new carb if this doesn't work. Two seasons ago this happened and I finally got it running perfectly. Better check the fuel cap...it's like it isn't getting a steady stream of gas. Maybe the fuel cap has a vent. Despite crossing state lines for no ethanol added premium fuel and storing it properly for the winter, this misfit is getting the better part of me. If it wasn't so expensive, it would be in the bottom of my pond by now! On beer # 3 or 4. Hope you all are having a better day! Outdoor jammin' Gary! I may throw in the towel and kick back. WIsh I had some tequila for some margaritas...damn! Going to fill the 3 foot round baby pool for the dogs...they love it!
  2. Yes, Tarheel, my house is full log but the fascia is cedar and the soffits are pine. I have tried spraying with stuff that is suppose to work and they still are present. Minermark, I promise to have all the dead leaves removed. You invent it, and we will market it. Maybe we just use the minimal amount of voltage to zap them, but not burst them into flames. No risk, no reward!
  3. Good morning! On 2nd cup of self ground Cameron's Highlander Grogg. Going down smooth. I have a carpenter bee problem. I love my battery operated fly zappers of varying types and strength. I am thinking about putting up some metal screening like you would use for window screeens (under the soffits) and wiring some low voltage to zap the baztards. They say they are generally harmless from a stinging standpoint but my house soffits & fascia would disagree. They drill cylindrical holes in wood and are very destructive and they fly around like a high tech military helicopter. Faster than the speed of light...very intimidating. Minermark & others, how would I go about wiring something like this. Could I use a small dc battery like this one? http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Rechargeable-12-Volt-Battery/700551.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dbattery%26x%3D10%26y%3D6%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=battery Have a great Memorial Day weekend and a HUGE Thank you to all the veterans and active duty service folks in our great country!
  4. Congrats Zappa...you may have saved me from divorce court! Enjoy and post pics when you get them in their happy place!
  5. Great alert Ibiz...sold for $173.50 on Ebay. Anyone here get em?
  6. Yep...I saw these last week and was going to post them in Alerts because of the finish, but when I saw firm I thought they were a bit high. Always like a reason for a short trip back to Dekalb. Can't beat a Tom & Jerry's gyros or a Twin Taverns Italian beef. If any one needs assistance with picking these up, let me know.
  7. I have an Outlaw Model 950 pre/pro I bought new in 2003. No HDMI inputs or outputs. It started powering off on it's own. Outlaw Tech Support told me it was likely a bad bridge rectifier diode on the power supply board. It is boxed up in the original box with remote, manual, power cord, and AM & FM antennas. If he has the know how, maybe he can repair it. $100 plus shipping. It served me well up until 6 months ago as a 7.1 pre/pro. Cosmetically it is flawless. Bummed me out that it started powering off. I would still be using it to this day.
  8. Although I like LaScala's without grills, those are very purdy. If they were within an hour of me, I might be in divorce court next week. I was storing and using a friend's pair of LaScala's in the early 90's and that is the reason I'm a Klipsch fan. Still regret buying them for $1,000 but they were not as purdy as these. Go get em'.
  9. For a second or two, I thought that was a smoker!
  10. I would skip the chips and go with chunks, the chips just flame up after a certain temp and there gone. Try out the new smoker, if you can't keep it around 225 forget smoking and just call it a grill. Remember do NOT ever use the exhaust to dampen it down, you can cause some really bad chemicals to build up in the smoke, dampen with intake only of lower the gas in your case. Hope it works out for you. Thanks dtel. I guess you can also just use charcoal with this model. We will probably only use it for larger gatherings and mostly use old faithful red when it's just my wife and I.
  11. Mark, I hope you are referring to one of these:
  12. Glad your feeling better dtel. Be careful on your new bike Tarheel! I need to get mine down from the loft of the barn. It's a 26 year old Giant Rincon. Bought a black one and a white one for our wedding presents to each other 25 1/2 years ago. They are like new, but the tires are flat and have cracks in the side walls. My wife's bike tires still have the new tire nipple things on them. I think she rode it on our honeymoon and maybe once or twice after. Too bad they are cracked, but the barn loft gets quite hot in the summer. Been smoking on a Charbroil Deluxe charcoal smoker for several years. Just got this Masterbuilt propane Smokehouse model 20051311 from my Dad. He never used it. 4 shelves and lot's of capacity. Anyone have experience with the propane models? I would love any tips? Approximately how many smoking hours can you get per 20 lb tank? Going out of town this coming weekend, so maybe we will break it in the following weekend. Need to pick up some wood chips for smoking. Any favorites? I have natural hickory, oak and cherry wood and bark. Sorry for the obnoxiously large pics. Cut & pasted from Amazon.

Let's see...Sean, your just shy of 16 hours away. If I left now, what are the chances I might get some leftovers? May be more like 18 hours with gas and pizz stops.
  15. Yep..."Just What the Doctor Ordered". Track 4 And a beer chaser.
  16. Hi C&C buds! Coffee pot empty, but still have a leftover cup in the fridge from Friday...maybe an ice coffee in order. My first driver was my Dad's Chevy Van 10 with only one side window on the slider door. No wonder I had so many "one-and-done dates". I was too naive at the time, but the girls parents probably said "your not going out with that punk with the van again"! My first car was a 1965 Dodge Coronet with a straight six that was handed down to my Mom from a great Uncle & Aunt, then handed down to me. Low mileage but dents in every door and panel. Felt like a fish in a bowl with all those windows. Don't remember who I sold that to, but my "Christine" car...the one that took all my time, money, away from sports, dozens of trips to the junk yard for bumpers, hoods, fenders, light rims, transmissions, rear-end differentials, you name it, was a 1970 Buick Skylark coupe that I converted into a Gran Sport. Was able to get all the emblems, grill, etc... from the dealership, and a hood with scoops. I wanted a 4-speed transmission so bad that I converted it from an automatic with the help of a mechanic and a lot of dough. That was after 3 automatic transmissions. Changed the medium brown bench seat and back seat with black velour seats from a Pontiac Grand Prix, and painted the interior black with vinyl spray paint. Came out pretty good. I never bolted down the inside bolts of the passenger bucket seat, so when I made sharp right had turns, it would tilt the seat towards the door...really freaked out the passenger. That was my baby. I knew every square inch of that car like the back of my hand. I sold it for $1,700 to help get through my last year of college. I would really regret it to this day, if it had been an authentic Buick GS, but it was a mutt. Now driving a 1998 Honda Accord with about 235k miles and a 2002 Suburban, when needed. Kind of preserved the mileage on it...only 95k. Pulled the smoker out from a corner it was in during the winter. Won't be long. Duder has me inspired! Have to get outside and be productive. List of projects is endless. Contemplating a Bloody Mary...Hmmmmm...
  17. Derrick, have fun experimenting with them. 18 - 24 inches from the wall seems optimal, but you will find the sweet spot in your listening room. I will be interested in hearing your A/B to the RF-7's. I haven't done that because they are on separate floors.
  18. Congrats Derrick. They look like either oiled oak or lacquered oak. Are the tags on the back? If they are oiled oak, Watco's rejuvenating oil will do wonders.
  19. Check your PM...a couple of Bloody Marys will be there shortly.
  20. Cup # 3...slept in, breakfast in the oven. Daytona 500 pre-game on. Feeling a bit foggy. Wifey just made bloody mary's...that should help
  21. Yes... Have a great birthday weekend!

Looks really good. What type of sauce is on that burrito? We did burritos last night, but not with all the yummy sides. Damn...just scrolled up again and want one of those. Can you please PM two plates just like that one?
  23. At least it didn't come out one of your eyes. Occasionally I'll blow my nose and water and bubbles come out the inside corner of one of my eyes...allergies. Not brave enough to try the spaghetti noodle thing.
  24. Not necessarily my favorite, but still cracks me up every time. http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/snl-digital-short-d-in-a-box/n12100
