  1. Purchased a Klipsch Cinema 1200 and immediately had to get a replacement. Around a year later it failed again and stopped working completely. During the entire time having the replacement I had to manually disconnect the power cord intermittently to get it to turn on. Now, it’s completely broken. I don’t write reviews, but this is a joke and am pushing for full reimbursement and will never purchase another Klipsch speaker again.
  2. Does anyone have any solutions please I've read around a little and can't find anything specifically for the 1200 I've tinkered with settings on my TV and series x It just simply won't pass through 4k when hooked to the soundbar and soundbar to tv via arc
  3. I was gonna get the cinema 700 but decided I wanna go all out I've had my very simple 2.0 Vizio soundbar I got 8 ago it had a sub port and I got a free inifinity bu 120 last year and got a nice taste of home bass before it out of nowhere while not in use made a thump noise and smoked decided I wanna go all out anyone have any opinions or advice for the 1200 read many good reviews but also a concerning amount of negative ones about ranging from it bricking within a few months to a year, audio cutting out, people having to buy smart switches cause they have to unplug it many times etc I'm excited but also nervous anyone own the 1200 could you please share your experience
  4. Scored a steal on used 1200 last weekend for $80. Seller mentioned that one speaker in soundbar had a "creaking" sound with piano music. I thought eh I don't listen to piano anyways so no problem. Auditioned at his house and didn't even hear it though his baby was sleeping and volume was not turned up. Fast forward a couple days after I get it home and connected. Thrilled with movies and even music but I'm bored so I think I'm going to look into the piano music issue. Sure enough one of the right drivers in soundbar makes a staticy noise. When I put a slight pressure on cone it goes away. Changed sources and different surround settings but static is still present. Firmware is all up to date. I start googling and apparently piano music is very taxing on speakers so that makes sense why it only happens there. A little more googling and I can't find where anyone has done any type of tear down on the cinema soundbars. I'm the type of guy that can't help myself and love to tinker so my question is - has anyone torn into one of these? If its some type of alignment issue I might be able to make it better or fix completely. To clarify - I think I need access to the drivers to pull and repair.
  5. Hello everyone! Sorry for the bad English, I am writing through a translator, I myself am from Russia =)) Before buying this system, I would like to know what the problems are, I just do not want to buy a non-working system. It will be difficult to exchange this product in Russia, 40+ days have passed, and the system has not been sent yet. And I would like to get an official answer, when will there be an update, where will the equalizer feature appear? According to open sources, they promised at the end of August, now it is October and there is no update yet.
  6. I don't believe that ARC/eARC is your issue. I have an older Samsung TV that does not have eARC. My Cinema 800 is connected to the TV's HDMI/ARC input and I have full 4K60Hz video. You could have an issue with your TV's HDMI/ARC input. That is why I said: If you used a different HDMI input on your TV when you did your tests, you did not eliminate the TV's HDMI/ARC input as the problem, which has nothing to do with ARC per se. Very true but ARC/eARC is not used for video. The Cinema Series soundbar articles mention eARC because it has the bandwidth required to provide all the audio formats the Cinema 1200 supports as described in Cinema 1200 - Decoding and Playback Modes but that article is a bit misleading. HDMI/ARC has the bandwidth to support a Dolby Digital Plus audio stream which provides higher quality audio (CD quality) when compared to Dolby Digital. Furthermore, Dolby Digital Plus does support Dolby Atmos, albeit at a lower audio quality. Since the Cinema Series soundbars do support Dolby Digital Plus we can listen to Dolby Atmos content via an HDMI/ARC connection as long as the TV can provide it.
  7. Ok after quick looking my series x come with an 2.1 ultra high speed HDMI by default as for the one that came with cinema 1200 it only says high speed with Ethernet seems my problem lies there hopes this works
  8. I'm new to the brand am gonna probably rock this setup for awhile as I've heavily neglected my home audio for 7 years I've done much research myself into these but want more opinions I would get the higher end cinema 1200 and the rp series sub but that's simply out of my budget any input would be appreciated 😁
  9. Hi @Spiral and welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. You may want to review these Klipsch Cinema Series support articles. Check the Cinema 1200 - Current Firmware Update Notes and Cinema 1200 - Updating Older Firmware to make sure you have the latest firmware installed. Does this happen when you try to adjust the volume... using the buttons on the soundbar? using the soundbar remote? using the Klipsch app on your smartphone? Do you experience the same behaviour on all of the source inputs?
  10. Hi @nicksri and welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. This thread has a lot of useful information. You can learn a lot about your Cinema 1200 if you read through the posts. The first thing you should do is insure your soundbar has the latest firmware. Klipsch has provided a series of knowledgebase article to address issues with the Cinema 1200. This one may help you: Cinema 1200 - No Audio via HDMI Troubleshooting Unplug your soundbar from the electrical outlet. Wait ~ 15 seconds. Plug your soundbar back into the electrical outlet.

  12. Hi, I live in Thailand and just bought a Cinema 1200. A few days after installation, the sound is not coming out from the soundbar. The sound comes out from the TV internal speaker. I checked and I have the latest firmware version of the 1200. I read in here that I needs to power cycle the soundbar. Could someone let me know what it is meant by power cycle the soundbar and how to do it? I intend to do this first before contacting Klipsch
  13. I just set up my Cinema 1200 and I’m having issues with adjusting the regular volume on the sound bar. I can mute and unmute no problem but the sound will not adjust up or down. It did that when I firt turned it on and when it connected it to my network, that seemed to fix it. The next day after turning on the sound bar, the volume can’t be adjusted?? Any ideas why?
  14. Hi guys, short update about ,what i have noted.i buyed a remote controll for the cinema 1200 from amazon.it is a aftermarket remote for 10.- $ it works well with the soundbar and it does like a normal remote should do.with my old remote ,every evening when i went to bed i switch of the system with the original remote,in the morning the bar was ON.i removed the batteries from the original and placed it the dresser.now when i wake up in the morning the bar is OFF and can be used normaly with the aftermarket remote.thats only what i have figured out but seems that the original remote effects the funktion of the bar, when its not in use! regards to u all
  15. Hello @James Robertson and welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. The Cinema Series (and before that, the BAR Series) were plagued with severe firmware and reliability issues. Current firmware has addressed most of the major firmware issues affecting the Cinema Series but component reliability continues to be an issue. You haven't provide much information about your issue and while it sounds as if it could be a component failure there are a few things you can check before requesting another RMA. Verify that your electrical outlet is still providing power: plug another device into the outlet that supplies power to your sub or plug your sub into a different outlet that you know is working. Please review these knowledgebase articles: Cinema 1200 - Subwoofer Wireless Connection Cinema 1200 - Subwoofer Reconnect Please reply back and let us know how your issue got resolved.
  16. Only you can decide what is best for you and "better" is a relative term. It implies better suited in a particular situation and you don't say how you use your soundbar. For example, I certainly would not want a Cinema 1200 just to listen to quiet music in my bedroom as I go to sleep. As you may know, the Cinema series is a replacement for the BAR series of soundbars. When they were first introduced they had lots of reliability issues and firmware issues similar to what owners of the BAR series experienced. Most of the firmware issues have been resolved and the Cinema 600 is now at hardware revision 3. I don't know if there have been hardware revisions to the other Cinema soundbars. Now that Klipsch has reduced the price of the Cinema series soundbars they offer great bang for the buck but it leads me to believe they may be getting ready to introduce a new series of soundbars to replace the Cinema series. If you are looking for a new soundbar, this is what I suggest: Decide how it will be used: blockbuster movies with surround sound? Something else? Establish a budget. Do a Google search for soundbar reviews and compare what is available. When you find something that interests you, check it out in some of the available community forums. There is a lot of information in this forum about the Cinema sound bars. Check it out... Cinema 1200 Cinema 800 Cinema 600
  17. Hi @jonboy604, Welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. While it is impossible to know exactly what is wrong with your soundbar, we do know that the firmware is out of date. When you open a case with Klipsch Product Support the first thing they will want you to do is install the most current firmware. Please see this post and update your firmware. Because this is a demo unit I don't know what the warranty or date of manufacture might be. The Cinema series of soundbars have had their issues. Most of the firmware issues have been resolve with the current version but there may have been other manufacturing defects that have been resolved in more recently manufactured products. If I were to purchase another Cinema soundbar I would not want to purchase a demo unit. If the firmware update doesn't resolve your issue and your soundbar is still under warranty, a warranty replacement from Klipsch is your best option. Your second best option would be to return the demo unit to your retailer for a refund. Another thing you should be aware of: At least one large Klipsch retailer is telling customers that the Cinema 1200 has been discontinued.
  18. Hi @Subi and welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. Can you describe what happened with step 3? What documentation did you follow when doing the upgrade? Here are the Cinema 1200 - Current Firmware Update Notes. With the newer firmware, the soundbar will phone home overnight and complete the firmware update but it needs a network connection. If your soundbar was using older firmware that didn't provide this capability there was a different procedure to update it: Cinema 1200 - Updating Older Firmware. This procedure includes a link to the WiFi firmware. Firmware updates can be finicky even if you follow the instructions exactly. I hate to say it but you may just get lucky after the second, third, or tenth attempt. I would make a small change to the step 3 procedure and perform #15 in between #5 & #6. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
  19. Hi everyone, I have a Cinema 1200 and I have a problem with subwoofer. It is apparently paired, solid blue ligth and I get message of subwoofer paired on soundbar, but subwoofer does not sound... I have night mode on zero and sub level at +6, but not working... Firmware is up to date. I contacted klipsch support, but they answered to contact local dealer to ask for a repair. Anyone had this issue with subwoofer? Any idea how to solve it? Thanks in advance!
  20. no Official statement yet , but the Cinema 1200 799$ promo was a hit , it's sold out or on BO
  21. Will there be a firmware update that will allow the bar to decode DTS: X.
  22. So had this system a few months now and randomly today the rare left started to make cracking sounds randomly then it just got worse almost like hissing sound. It’s got both the latest firmware updates and haven’t had any other issues with the system. Anything else I can try before putting a support ticket in?
  23. I recently got the Cinema 1200 sound bar and have been playing with it for the past 2 days and I can't seem to find a good balance and am beginning to think the system I got is faulty. I am curious if any one else is experiencing the same thing issues. First off all, its volume seem very low. I am usually hovering around the 45-55 volume level to get full sound in a 20x16 room. With my older sound bar, the volume usually sits around 20-25 max. Is 45 the expected volume level on average? Second, the dialogue is very low even at the 45 volume level. I've played with the Dialogue enhancement feature, but noticed that past "Dialogue 2", it begins to sound terrible. Other than those two issues/concerns, the surround sound quality overall is amazing. I am just not confident with how high the volume level needs to be and am shocked with how disappointing the quality of the dialogue is out of the box (and even with the Dialogue enhancement feature). Even my old Samsung sound bar (HW-E450) had clearer dialogue and better balance with the background sounds by itself. If anyone has gone through similar low volume and dialogue issues on their Cinema 1200 or have any recommendations for me to get the best out of this system, please share. I'd appreciate it.
  24. Hello, I have the new cinema 1200 and previous to the firmware update everything was working fine. This thing sounds amazing and way better htan the bose 700 After performing the update the firmware readings for WIFI does not show any number next to it at all ....not one digit or dot and sur R00 which should be a different reading just says WIFI. it is almost the like bar is doesn't have wifi anymore after running the update. I have tried to do the second update several times with 8 different flash drives all formatted to fat32 and several sizes from 100 mb to 8gb. I have tried the factory resets and bricked soundbar instructions as well and they dont work at all.I have tried to roll back per the email Klipsch sent and it cant even do the wifi aspect update at all. Almost the like internal driver for it is gone. is there any way to make every reading below read back to zero and start from scratch and reinstall or reactivate specifically the wifi or a way to turn on wifi on or reinstall only this driver through other means. Direct ethernet connection to router with a cable, wps, and Bluetooth don't work either as they are usually on the same driver and chip and it looks like sur r00 is problematic as well. This is exactly without deviation how it looks through the firmware listings EXACTLY AS BELOW there is nothing next to the wifi section because nothing is showing other than 4 letters "WIFI" when scrolling through firmwares. in other words it is showing no firmware want to specifically install that firmware to turn it back on This is exactly the way it looks when reading firmware...... MCU v92 > WIFI> DSP 4.9 > SUR T80 > SUR R00 > SUR L80 > SUB T03 > SUB R06 > HDMI 43 You guys have any suggestions to somehow gert wifi and Sur R Back? thank you guys for all your help
  25. @Luca Pescatori Welcome to the Klipsch community forums. You can return your soundbar to the retailer from whom you purchased it for a replacement or a refund. If your soundbar is defective open a support case with Klipsch product support and request a warranty replacement. First, though, you should do some basic troubleshooting to isolate the problem. Does this happen only when you you use the analog input or is it the same for all/other input sources? This sounds like a separate issue... Have you read the Cinema 1200 Knowledge Base articles? They may provide some help.
