  2. While making my too infrequent pilgrimage trip up I-75 (passing Big Butter Jesus) to Parts Express.....
  3. ...OTHER than the Post Office themselves? Here's the story... Our mail gets delivered by those little mail trucks that started out looking like Jeeps. The drivers don't get out unless there's a package to be delivered; then they'll bring that to the front door and leave it. We live on a cul-de-sac and on the average day it only takes about 5-10 minutes to deliver all the mail on our street. The driver(s) will deliver all the mail and then will drive down our street to the far end (unable to be seen from my yard) and not be seen for about a minute. Then he'll drive back up to the top of our street and carry on with the next street. The wierd thing is he'll drive back down our street 2 or 3 times right after he drops off the mail the first time!! My conclusion is that their either trying to waste time to get paid more OR they're running up the milage on the trucks so they can buy new ones sooner. Yet they want more money for a postage stamp?? I once talked to a city bus driver he admitted to me the part about the milage. They'll send busses on the longer highway runs to get them to the minumum milage so they can retire them and buy new ones.
  4. Haven't researched it yet but I will now. O.k., here it is: http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-steve-jobs-obit-20111006,0,7210103.story
  5. Couldn't resist this one. I was riding pro for Coca-Cola in 1982 and part of 83'. Still have 7 skateboards in the corner of my study collecting dust.

  8. Woooops.... I forgot to post the price (I was half asleep when I put it up) Price in $3,599 + shipping. If everybody wants, since I have it boxed up already, I can get it out and see what software it is. (MEN220 Software Ver. 1.3 and Room Perfect Ver. 1.6)

  12. Hi guys, I have a Shure V15xMR that I haven't played in many years. It does have quite a few miles on it when I was making compilation cassettes. I started playing it a few weeks ago and it just isn't as clear as it used to be. Now, I could order a Jico stylus stylus for it (a lot more affordable than the original stylus if it could even be had at all) but another thought came to mind from a post in another thread. My question is, can a cartridge wear out or could it even degrade from it not being played? I have a couple of backup catridges. A Stanton P888ss (Godzilla bicept claw) and a very low mileage Ortofon VMS-30 MkII. I'm liking the Ortofon pretty good but that could be from the degradation of the Shure. My favorite is/was the Shure as I thought the Ortofon sounded a bit relaxed. Tonight I played a low-mileage copy of Robert Cray's "Strong Pursuader" and the Ortofon and enjoyed it thoroughly.
  13. Here's the posts I used on my CW I's. http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-bpp-g-premium-binding-post-pair-gold--091-620 With these plates. http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-dbpp-bk-double-binding-post-plate-black-anodized--091-612 It's nice when you can get them in person and look at them first.
  14. Might be a little much but I'll post them anyway.... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/672106356465023
  15. I would open up the cabs and see if everything looks original. If you're not sure just post some pics and we'll be able to tell ya. It might be hard to tell if the caps need changing if you don't have a properly sounding example to compare them to. But, at that age, I'd bet on them needing some help. I'm told 20-years is about the average life for stock crossovers. Bob Crites sells replacement crossovers for the Heresy E for $185/pr. Or he also has repair kits for quite a bit less if you're handy with a soldering iron. Others, here, make them too so you can decide who to get them from. http://www.critesspeakers.com/prices_-_new_crossovers.html
  16. When you go to post, go to the "Options" tab above where your typing the text. There you can browse to the pic you want to show. But here's the odd part, in the box where your browsing for your pic you'll have to scroll to the right to find the button to attatch it to your post.
  17. Is that a Jamie Lee Curtis euphemism? Post of the day O.K., that one took a couple of minutes....
  18. I'm getting hosed by Verizon!! My Samsung Galaxy S4 decided not to turn on anymore (no physical damage at all) so I went back to Best Buy to get a new phone. This necessitated my wife to get a new phone too (was an S5) because they would not do the same pricing structure (now "leasing" as opposed to the 2-yr agreement). So, of course, the S4 are long gone so I got an S6. BB was nice enough to allow us to get S6's early. So the kid at BB gives us each a mailer bag to send back each of our old phones even though mine was not working (remember, that's the whole reason why I started all this garbage). My wife gets an e-mail from Verizon saying that because my phone was not working the are assessing an extra fee on our bill (at this time the amount is unknown). So I called Verizon pleading my case and the very nice guy I talked to there is telling me it'll probably be about $200, but he's checking into it and giving it a case number. The same day I get my first call back from my Verizon cust. service rep., we get my old non-working phone back in the mail....MINUS THE BATTERY, BACK COVER AND SIM CARD. At first I thought the post office stripped the battery from it because lithium isn't supposed to be sent on unpressurized airplanes. But who knows. Still waiting to hear back from my rep again.....
  19. [quote name="sonder" post="1967394" Cincinnati has a lot of problems that extend well beyond sports teams. But we host one hell of an All Star Game.
  20. I'm all for ordering a pair of Bob's crossovers but my problem is that he sells two different ones to replace a standard B-3 and one for the Cornscala. I'm getting a bit more confident about cutting out the motorboard for the larger horn. This is also under the assumption that the size of the cutout would be the same size weather the horn is mounted from the front or from inside the cab like the original one that's in there now. THEN there's a bigger problem, the cut out on the grill is only large enough for for the current horn and not big enough for the M2380. Budman, here on the forums, told me he can make me a pair and lives close to me. But so far, I haven't heard back from him. Maybe I should put up a "ping" post for him. I also plan on replacing the terminal strip with a 4-post bi-wire/bi-amp terminal cup mounted much lower on the cabinet to keep my options open for later.
  21. [quote name="johnnydrama" post="1940786" timestamp="1446748054" On the Klipsch front, I've probably been in 10 different Chipotles, but they have all had Mirage speaker systems. Didn't Klipsch buy out Mirage?
  22. Mine's this coming Wednesday, I just don't post the numbers on the web. Big 5-0 for me... Think I'll take one of my skateboards to work that day .
