  5. Hi. Newbie here. I have a G-17 that I've had hooked up to my network in the past. Now I'd like to just use the 3.5mm input jack. I've tried pushing the I/O button to get the three flashes but still get no sound. I haven't used this for a few years, so has something changed and caused an issue or am I just missing something simple? Any help would be welcome. Thanks.

  10. Selling my favorite speakers I've ever owned. Space constraints force sale, and they are not being used right now so they should go to a fellow enthusiast who would appreciate them. Never overdriven (only used with an AVR247 receiver). I've attached a writeup of the crossover rebuild by the previous owner, who is a member of this forum. Features Crites titanium tweeter diaphragms Jantzen biamp/biwire crossovers with Crites autotransformers Jantzen internal wiring Dampened driver baskets and horns Plexiglass binding post plates with biamp/biwire option New driver gaskets and cabinet sealing Condition 8/10, some minor chipping/scuffing along base but pretty good for 20+ year old floor standing speakers. Price $600 OBO (but please don't lowball) Shipping I can arrange shipping within the continental US for $200. If they don't sell in 2 weeks they're going on ebay. merged.pdf
  11. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-KP-201-12-3-way-Loudspeaker-Pair-Pro-Version-of-Heresy-/142094604357?hash=item21157f9845:g:TAQAAOSwTZ1Xn5Dm Title says it all. How does one fathom getting the kind of money he wants for a pair of 201's with a punctured woofer and the cabinets beat to hell? Come on, starting bid at $599?....really?
  12. On my last forum i Wrote about my Klipsch KG 5.5's that i acquired at a garage sale for a great bargain. I just got my Crites Titanium tweeter upgrades today and now i want to change the look of the speaker cosmetically. I have the natural Oak finish, and i was maybe thinking about doing a White carbon fiber vinyl wrap on the sides, and a black carbon fiber wrap on the front baffle. Any thoughts on this? If you guys have any other ideas, let me know, i want to make them look badass and unique.
  13. I recently acquired a pair of the Klipsch KG 5.5 speakers in 9.5/10 condition at a garage sale for $200 bucks for the pair! A friggin steal! However as i cranked them up i heard a loud buzzing in the woofer. Upon further research it seems that other people have this same problem with the KG series. The speakers turn 20 this August 27th, so they are old and people have said that with age there will be loose crap under the dust cap that causes the loud and annoying vibrations that i hear when i turn them up to medium volumes. So far I'm going to buy some replacement Titanium Dome Diagaphrams for the tweeters from bob crites, and I'm looking for a good replacement woofer. I know somebody makes a replacement woofer specifically for the KG series listed here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/160962694691?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 Looking at the specs they don't give you any frequency response graphs, so i decided that i will probably use this woofer https://www.parts-express.com/goldwood-gw-10pc-8-10-heavy-duty-woofer-8-ohm--290-324 The sensitivity and impedance of this woofer is the same as the replacement one so it should work, and the reviews say its great. Does anybody have any thoughts or opinions on this, or any upgrade ideas to make my KG 5.5's even better?

Tim
  15. Hi Klipsch lovers, I'd like to share my experience on tubes rolling for my 1981 Cornwall I. After almost a year using NOS Mullard 5U4G rectifier, 2x French brand 12AU7's for L&R + EH's 12BH7 on the C for the drivers (with monthly bias adjusment), I decided to do some tubes rolling. Yesterday I put a NOS Mullard GZ34R for the rectifier, 2x matched NOS 1954 Raytheon 5814 for the L&R + Genalex ECC82 on C for drivers channels. After readjusted the bias setting, then I fired up the amps. My impression was: 1. On CD. I played "Jazz at the pawnshop" & "Marantz's High End Audiophile Test" CDs. The result was: I heard a bigger sound stage compared to previous tubes setting, the stereo is wider with clearer details and easy to pint point the instruments with no hars on the highs. I could hear the fingering on the straight-up bass much clearer. One of the track on the Marantz cd (Harumi played by Circle Percussion), the low was sound nicely tight (not boomy) with alot of details on the highs. On of the track which had a trumpet lines, it was nicely presented with no harsh on my ears. 2. On Turntable. I played some Ben Webster, it brings the saxophone sound much forward/bigger. I could hear Webster's breath clearly with details on others instrument. The only downside, the stereo image is not as wide as the CD, maybe it's the way they recorded. 3. Digital music from my Itunes collection (in Apple Lossless format) using Schiit DAC. I played some "vocals" such as Jenna Mammina, Roberta Flack, Norah Jones, Nat King Cole, Diana Krall. Their vocals were so clear & details with forward soundstage which I love it. Overall, I love this tubes setting compare to my previous tube set up. I'm not sure which tubes from the mixed that brings up the big diferences and sorry I'm not a techy guy, this was just my observation. Here's my set up: A pair of 1981 Cornwall I with Crite's updated B2 XO, with all original drivers, tweeter, sqwuaker & woofer. Bob Latino's VTA120 in pentode mode (my preference). SP12R/PH12 pre-amp from tubes4hifi. The same 4xEH KT-90 for the output tubes (with bias set to around 0.500 dcV). Schiit Bifrost DAC. Marantz 7003 CD player. Project Debut Carbon with Red Ortofon cartridge. Any one has better experience on using Mullard GZ34R, Raytheon 5814 or Genalex ECC82 on their amps, are welcome to share their experiences & opinions on this thread. Cheers all, Jimmy *Edited: For the Turntable, I'm using Phoenix PSU as well.

  17. I have a beautiful RSW-15 in black available for sale. It is in terrific shape, has some minor scratches, one small imperfection, 2 missing grill pegs, and is otherwise in great shape. I purchased this subwoofer from another member in the forum and would like to sell it to another member in the forum to "pass it on." I have tested it extensively, and it works 100%. I added feet to this sub, as it came without feet. Some scratches on the bottom are there most likely due to the lack of feet. I did some light touchup on them in order to make the appearance as perfect as possible. The member who had it before me took excellent care of it, and I have also. It has absolutely no performance issues and plays loud, low and clear. Asking $750 for the RSW-15. I enjoy getting to know and meet the members here. Please be friendly! I look forward to creating a win-win here My track record is not long here but I am 100% honest and forthcoming. Feel free to ask any questions or request additional pictures of any part as needed. I am located in Chicago, Illinois, in the far north part of the city. Easily accessible for anybody, safe and parking is not a problem where I live. Cheers, Roboklipsch

  19. Thank you for considering this sale! A pair of great Professional Klipsch Split Version of La Scala Speakers that sound amazing. I purchased them when i started my mobile dj business on 1986. I recently tested them with a Crown Micro Tech 1200 amplifier and they are working great : crossovers, woofers, midrange and tweeters. I have the speakers since they are new, they a version of the home speakers intended for higher wattage use in professional settings. The top section of the speaker (tweeter and squaker) is not attached to the bass cabinet, making it very easy to transport. This is your chance to get a great set of speakers for home, DJ use or live performances at a fraction of the original cost. All the components (crossovers, woofer, squeaker and tweeters) from both speakers are working perfectly and sounds great. The cabinets have several superficial dents and scratches on them (please see pictures attached) which does not affect the sound quality. The Speakers are located in Laredo Tx, They are offered for a starting price of $2,000USD for the pair , available for delivery pick up in Laredo Texas or shipping paid by the buyer please contact me for more information at djcompany@me.com

  25. Hey guys so recently I got my friend to bring the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers from Canada to here in Pakistan. I was so excited to get them running as soon as they got here. When I brought them home I connected them the usual way. And when I turned on the switch......boom. The electricity flickered and the speakers didn't turn on. I turned around the subwoofer unit observing the rear side of it and then did I realize that it was rated 120V! Whereas here we use 220V. How stupid could I get?! Okay so this is the first time I have got something from US/Canada so I had no idea about the different voltage system. I learned the hard way. Since there is no official presence of Klipsch in Pakistan, and I didn't opt for warranty which would've costed me extra CAD 35 from Amazon.ca, I took the speakers to the repair guy in my area who has fixed my old Logitech speakers and Phillips TV before as well. He tried to fix the speakers but unfortunately couldn't. This is the amp unit: He said the fuse was intact but these 2 components were fried so he replaced them: He did some more soldering and checking with multimeter and all in front of me but the speakers weren't powering on. On some points he was getting readings on his multimeter but not on others (as far as I remember). The repair guy said that this component is damaged (IC?) (highlighted): The repair guy was like I will have to get the replacement part (the whole board as shown in the first picture) from abroad because its not available here in the market. I searched Ebay and did find a few options, but they are either the subwoofer itself or the whole back plate unit. Plus they are really expensive (around $70-$80). Might as well get new speakers from best buy ($125). But even then I don't have anyone coming in from the US. So I wanted to ask if there is any other way I could get these fixed. Maybe the repair guy missed something, or was wrong about something. Need suggestions. Should I try replacing the fuse? I've heard so many good things about these speakers and couldn't even get the chance to hear a single sound from them And they cost me CAD 260! They're just lying here useless in my room.
