Moderators Youthman Posted May 27, 2009 Moderators Share Posted May 27, 2009 Wow, I really love the depth and the character of the shelf. Sweet job!
roaddog359
I think it will be just below the vent. I may be trying to mount it up tonight.

trashyrich1157
It looks great ! Two things, can you run the wire thru the wall and have it come out the vent? Dude! that thing is so beefy, it looks like you could put a LaScala up there.
Moderators Youthman Posted May 28, 2009 Moderators Share Posted May 28, 2009 The mantle looks great, nice job. I had no idea it was going to be that big though. Wow, it makes the RC-64 look small and that's no easy task. LOL.
roaddog359
I just threw the rc64 up there for the pictures. I will be running the wires throught the wall. I just have not gotten that far yet.
JSChapman
Wow, it makes the RC-64 look small and that's no easy taskThat's what I'm saying! Hey there little guy. How you doin up there? LOL! On a serious note though, it really does look good. Nice job man[Y]
CECAA850
It's hard to get a good idea of depth from the pics, but be sure to bring the speaker as far forward (away from the wall) as possible. If it sits too far back and is pointing downward, you'll reflect some of the sound upward off the mantle. Looks great!
jamesV
Looks really cool. [Y] So what do you have under the speaker to prop it up? Any chance to get a side view shot? James
Moderators Youthman Posted May 29, 2009 Moderators Share Posted May 29, 2009 So what do you have under the speaker to prop it up? My guess is the screw that comes with the RC-64 that allows you to adjust the angle of the speaker.

Moderators Youthman Posted May 29, 2009 Moderators Share Posted May 29, 2009 Yes, I am well aware of it but didn't know if he used something else. Gotcha. Wasn't trying to insult your intelligence. I just now looked at your profile and you too have the RC-64. LOL. My bad. When I bought a used RC-7, it did not come with one so I didn't know about it for awhile till I heard someone mention it in the forums. roaddog359
Hey guys, I am using the screw that came with it to angle it down. The speaker is near the front edge of the shelf and I can take a side shot tonight and post it.
jamesV
No problem, I didn't know if you did something else to angle it down. In the second picture you posted it really shows the size of the piece, WOW... James
