Fresh123
HI I am currently running RF 62, Rc 52, RF 61 bookshelfs as rears and a RW10D sub. I am upgrading my fronts to Rf82 and moving my RF62 for rears and putting in a second matching RW10D sub, so i need to do something with my center channel. 1. run two rc52 2. upgrade to rc62 3. upgrade to rc64 In the future I am planning to put my RB 61 in as rear surrounds and run 7.1. Does anyone have experience running two center speakers? I was thing one above and below my tv Thanks!
Arky
Never ran 2 centers but I suggest buying the best center you can. That position handles the most information.
willland
Fresh123, Welcome to the forum. No two center channels. I repeat, one center channel only. It as a center channel not center channels(plural). Get the best center you can afford. The RC-62 is great, the RC-64 is better. Running two RW-10D's will work fine. Fresh123
What is the issue with two center speakers? will it distort?
willland
What is the issue with two center speakers? I can't give you any pros or cons from my own experience but these guys seem to know. http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/248375/2-center-channel-speakers Bill
Fresh123
Thanks Bill I have been doing alot of reading about this option and I am leading towards not running two center channels. So that leaves R62 or R64 I am a little worried i wont have the power to run the larger RC
oldtimer
The 64 is rated at 1db more efficient so power should have nothing to do with it.
Arky
No worries about power.
Moderators Youthman Posted August 29, 2010 Moderators Share Posted August 29, 2010 oldtimer is correct. Klipsch speakers are extremely efficient meaning they can be driven by very little wattage.
Moderators Youthman Posted August 29, 2010 Moderators Share Posted August 29, 2010 What is the issue with two center speakers? will it distort? Has something to do with "combing". Not sure exactly what that is, think Michael Colter explained it one time. Possibly the cancellation of frequencies as the two waves meet. Fresh123
Does anyone know where to get a good deal on the RC 62 or Rc 64 on the web that ships to canada?
jamesV
I am a little worried i wont have the power to run the larger RC 64 As others have stated no need to worry about the power but you do have to worry about the SIZE. The RC-64 is a beast so you better make sure you have room or can get the room for it. James
jamesV
Does anyone know where to get a good deal on the RC 62 or Rc 64 on the web that ships to canada? I believe that JandR ships to Canada. They don't have the RC-64 listed anymore, just the new RC-64 II, might be worth it to give them a call to see. James
Moderators Youthman Posted August 30, 2010 Moderators Share Posted August 30, 2010 And if you have back problems, you might want to look at getting the RC-62 instead. []
Fresh123
I made my decision today picked up a RC 64 a little bit more than i wanted to spend but should be worth it
psg
What is the issue with two center speakers? will it distort? Has something to do with "combing". Not sure exactly what that is, think Michael Colter explained it one time. Possibly the cancellation of frequencies as the two waves meet. A picture is sometimes worth a thousand words. The top image represents high and low pressures of a single-frequency sound wave emanating from a center speaker and the bottom one is the same single-frequency sound wave emanating from two speakers. When the two waves reach a given spot out of phase, they cancel out a bit, or a lot.
Moderators Youthman Posted August 30, 2010 Moderators Share Posted August 30, 2010 Isn't that what I just said? [] The second one kinda looks like my brain waves.
