onawav
I personally love the sound and richness of SACDs. I do wish they were more popular so more would be released. What are your favorite SACD recommendations? A couple of my favorites are Miles Davis - Live-Evil and Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon. onawav
A couple up to add to my collection are: Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Fleetwood Mac - Rumors (I can't seem to find "Rumors" other than stupid-pricey Japanese exports. Any thoughts?) Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms Steely Dan - Gaucho Death Cab for Cutie - Transatlaticism Can - Tago Mago Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow
onawav
I need to add Jeff Beck's "Blow by Blow" to my must-buy list. Surely there are some other SACD fans out there? What are you listening to?
Dennie
I forget this thread is here. Sorry for the delay, but here are a couple of my favorites..... This one is a must have, get it while you can...
Dennie
I also recommend "samplers" as they are often the Best of the Best from that label and a good way to find artists you may not know. These are getting harder to find, but will worth it if you do find a copy...

Dennie
Eric Clapton's Slowhand is one you should definitely listen to. I just saw this while searching around on Amazon. I didn't realize it was on SACD. Will have to pick that one up, for sure! I've read a lot of reviews on this disc and most seem to say the CD sounds as good as the SACD. So, you might want to read some reviews first or borrow a copy, before laying down some dough! But, if you don't have the CD, then it is probably worth the purchase, as it is one of the lower priced SACD! Good luck and keep us posted, Dennie
Chris A
http://theaudiocritic.com/plog/index.php?op=ViewArticle&articleId=4&blogId=1 Excerpt: "...the new hi-rez formats generally sound better than standard CDs, but not because the processing technology is superior. The hi-rez discs are aimed at a more sophisticated market, and therefore the recording sessions and production techniques tend to be more sophisticated, more puristic, in terms of microphoning, compression, editing, etc. The use of a standard 16-bit/44.1-kHz processor as a 'bottleneck' in the Meyer-Moran tests eliminated this concern. Comparing the CD and SACD layers of the same disc also eliminates it."
